    Finding good info on ITF combinations like this is like finding gold. My personal fave is side kick (fake) to back fist or back fist (fake) to side kick, all mixed up; a real basic but I've lost count of how many times this has worked for me against people who really should know better:-) Still works as an opener for kickboxing and Thai.Thanks for the upload.

    With all your videos I have watched, I don't know how I missed this series! I'm headed for regionals in 2 weeks, and sparring combos are my weakness - I tend to get predictable. At least I have some time left to practice more varied combos. Thanks again, Aaron! (Wish me luck. I'm only doing 3 events, but it's my first tournament at this level... after all of the senior instructors insisted I compete in regionals... lol)

    Thanks again, looks good. Subscribed

      These combos don't have any leg kicks in due to the rules of not being able to kick below the belt in Taekwondo. If you change some to low kicks and don't double up keeping the leg up then it should be fine. Good luck and thank you for your support :)

    Ah, I wish I had seen this earlier, as I had my first sparring session in my Sansei Shito Ryu class yesterday (he incorporates some Goshin Budo Jiu Jitsu and Dento Ryu Kobudo into the class as well, though). I did alright, I landed a few techniques, but most of the time people blocked them; my defense was terrible though, I kept forgetting to block when I was attempting an offensive move. Oh well, most of the people were several belts ahead of me anyway and have sparred before. Thank you, though, I will keep this in mind for next time we spar (which is about every 2 months or so) and hopefully do a little bit better at counter-attacking.

    Hey, Aaron. I was wondering if I could ask your opinion on something.
    How easy would it be to make the transition from WTF Sparring Rules to ITF Sparring Rules and vice-versa? Are the rules that different from each other that they make Taekwondo split up into almost two different styles of fighting?

    • @GingerNinjaTrickster
      @GingerNinjaTrickster  10 лет назад +1

      It would take a while to get used to in both transitions in my opinion but is definitely possible. A few have done it in the past and have done well :)

    Quality video like always just wondering how comes you dont compete on a professional level judging by your skills, knowledge accuracy and speed you would be pretty dangerous either as a kickboxing or mixing it up with other styles of martial arts and fighting in the cage have you ever considered this ?

    • @GingerNinjaTrickster
      @GingerNinjaTrickster  10 лет назад +2

      I appreciate you saying that. Thank you :) I have thought about it but due to all the commitments I have, I would not be able to get to the level that i'd want to be at. Maybe when my daughter grows up a little, I teach less, i'm not traveling as much and I make less videos I will go back to competing as i'll be bale to dedicate enough time :)

    GNT! Okay first off sweet vid, thanks it helps quite a bit. But I have a question... How effective is TKD against a Muay Thai fighter, i've been practicing both, which are alot different but also quite the same, and I've been trying to use the speed and flexibility from TKD and the Pure strength and force from Muay Thai to increase my martial arts proficiency, but I keep wondering if TKD would be effective against someone with equal training in Muay Thai, as I feel Muay Thai Is much more versatile. Thanks for the vid and I hope you can help me out with this :D

    • @GingerNinjaTrickster
      @GingerNinjaTrickster  10 лет назад +3

      I'm glad you liked it :) It's good to be diverse and Muay Thai is definitely more effective at close range but it depends on the knowledge and skill of the practitioner, this is why no style can be superior. Learn a bit of several martial arts so you are not limited. Good luck :)

      If your grading just make sure you know your syllabus and if you trained well then that shouldn't be a problem. As for the nerves you will experience, I want to tell you that everyone gets nervous (including me too yes lol) as it means something to us. Just work hard, try to deal with your nerves as best as possible and show them that your worthy of your next grade. Good luck :)
