    The colour for the walls would be magnolia, it’s very popular with contractors as it’s one of the cheapest colours mainly being so neutral/bland. One thing that gets me as a Brit is the American cookers having the controls at the back of it meaning you have to reach over hot pans to adjust the heat of the rings.

    • @nikitasansone3832

      With the cooker, it really depends on the stove, ours are in the front , and in the US they were too 😊 I think it’s safer

      It should be noted that this property (from a British perspective) is geared for Americans which you won't find in British houses: Dual electric sockets (British 240v as well as US 110v), very wide fridge and cooker (British standard for both is 600mm wide, 23.6 inches) and ceiling fans (Americans seem to think these a necessity, even though you'll be lucky to hit 70 degrees for a few weeks mid-summer). We don't have mailboxes. The mail comes through the covered slit ('letterbox') in the front door. No mesh screens on windows or doors as flying insects are not generally a problem. Air conditioning is never found as a feature (I bought a mobile unit after a short heatwave and didn't use it again for 5 years).

      @@neilfrasersmith Fill the sink with water, and acidentally drop the plugged in hair dryer into the water. You'll understand why we have regulations. DON'T take an extension lead into a bathroom. Sit in your bedroom wiih a dressing table and mirror and dry your hair there....
      And you need to get your facts right about Australia:
      "Australian regulations around electrical sockets in bathrooms are strict. While it depends on your fittings, you can't have regular electrical sockets or switches less than ~4 metres of a water source. Some special power points and switches can be placed closer, but you'll need to speak to an electrician to be safe.". These are almost the same regulations as in the UK.

    • @jgdooley2003
      @jgdooley2003 Год назад

      There are different zones where electrical features are allowed and these are very strictly enforced, in Ireland and the UK. Even light switches are not allowed inside a bathroom, they are usually on the outside wall befoire you enter the bathroom. Any appliance inside must be controlled by pullcord switches mounted on the ceiling. Any electric heater must be mounted at least 1.5 meters away from any sink or bath. The rules make putting in sockets almost impossible. Sockets (2 pin) for shavers only are allowed in specialised units with isolating transformers which reduce greatly the risk of shock from people dropping an appliance in a wash hand basin fulll of water.

      All UK houses are 240 volt, the shaver outlet in the bathroom is the only one at 110v ( sometimes the shaver outlet has an external switch 11o or 240v)
      I think UK houses are wired differently all the sockets will be on one circuit, with a fuse in tge main fuse box, likewise the lights, sometimes split between upstairs and downstairs.
      The majority if not all outlets will also be individually switched, don't make tge mistake of plugging something in, and expecting it to be 'live' charging or working, if the outlet isn't switched on its not working
