Omg I’m so nervous, that is A LOT I have to do. We have soft orders to Mildenhall, & I’m excited, but nervous about the transition! Thank you so much for all the info! This will be so helpful!
Im a RAF regiment gunner, i have friends in the US air force and im helping them with there orders to move to menwith hill where im bases! this video will help me help them with there move
we just got out follow on orders to England. Can't wait but So much to figure out. love your videos, keep them coming. could you possibly do one about the schools or how you found your house? :)
Gonzalez Family Adventures Oh thank you for getting a school video ready. I'll have a 5 year old and a 2.5 year old once we head that way. So mainly just curious about the process to get them into a school and the differences between the British schools and DOD schools. And maybe some recoomendatioms of some British schools? :)
Just a couple of thoughts as a local. Can you not get a fixed line installed? I have an account with British Telecom that provides a fixed phone and broadband service, plus a discount on a mobile/cellphone for a reasonable fee. I'm getting 70Mps, you're out in the country so you will get less than that but it should be an improvement on what you are currently getting. Plus fibre optic is rapidly replacing the old copper wires throughout the country, so everywhere other than the most remote parts will see an improvement in speed and reliability. Secondly I have standing orders with my bank to pay all my regular bills by automatically debiting my bank account each month. I haven't had to worry about personally paying bills for many years!
First. Thanks to you and your husband for his service. Second, just out of curiosity, is it hard to get used to driving on the left side of the street? It feels like it would be hard.
Barry, let's just say some people shouldn't be driving no matter what side you drive on. It's actually not that bad. I was rearended twice while there and totaled out both cars. Although insurance is required as well as a thing called MOTs, I didn't receive a penny from either accident. I did go to a couple of solicitors and was told I was SOL. Not because of parties not having insurance but things with the laws are different there in terms of filing a claim.
Can i ask. Im british born. From west london. When my husband and i drove passed there to go to well next to sea. He 1st told me about lakenheath i was so intrigued. He e explained that everything behind the fence we drove by in lakenheath was American. Restaurants, cars, schools, your own church. I was amazed. Is it true? My mind drifts away and goes into "Happy Days, The Fonz mode" or i imagine nice frothy milkshakes, big burgers and fries or bars that have drinks that get slided to you that you catch and drink. I wanna be part of that.!! More importantly why have i no America friends ( male or female)? and where do i find some( please dont say social media im.so crap at that.)
Xenia Andrzejewski hello, my daughter is in off base kindergarten which would be considered year 1 :) do you have any specific questions I can help with
Please do a video on schools and why you did off base for your daughter. Will have a 4 year old when we get there and an 8 month old. Also would like to know about what we have to do for animals. We will have cats.
I super scared about my dog flying and traveling with us; her safety and care is my first concern. What is the step by step protocol from home in the states to airplane to tlf to moving in to a permanent situation at lakenheath?
Meadow Magic it’s a HUGE process. I can try to make a video about it in the future but it won’t be for a while. There is a group on Facebook PCSing with pets to the U.K. they are super helpful!
Wesley Franks do you have a sponsor yet? They should have the info. Or maybe check out RAF lakenheath website or fb page? Also I made a video on bring your dog here as well if you wanna check that out. No quarantine if you do everything correctly 👍🏻
andrew w Suffolk/Norfolk is awful. Went away for a long weekend on my own and was unable to contact my wife for long periods. You can imagine the conversations when I got home!
I know you have little children but I have high school children. Can you connect me with someone that would know more about options for highschool children attending both highschool and college at the same time??
Meadow Magic I’m so sorry I’m not too sure who to connect you with. Do you mean for on base? I know there is a school liaison, on lakenheath. I can try to find their number next time I’m on base
Hello your video is awesome! We will be PCSing to Lakenheath in October from Aviano AB,Italy, and we will bring out cat with us any suggestions where to find a house ( i like your house though)
Beck row is an amazing are to look at, West Row is nice too, small little area but a bit farther to Lakenheath. Also look into Lords walk, but the privately owned and renovated homes! They are so nice and right next to the gate of Lakenheath!
I enjoy watching your videos! My husband and I will be there sometimes in June! This helped alot, but could you possibly do a video on finances? I wasn't too sure about the whole thing you explained? Do we leave our account open here in the states with the bank that we have? Or close it once we move? Also, should we take our car with us? We're still making payments on it. It's a new vehicle. I have the option of taking it, or transferring it to my sister.
Odelya Essazade what type of car do you have? You can bring one car with you. They will ship it, and then you just have to do a light conversion on it. But it depends how large your car is and how comfortable you will be driving it here. Also, yes we have our USAA bank account and then we have a brutish pounds account as well 😊 hope this helps!
It's a Toyota Corolla. I feel like its a pretty small car right? We don't want to make a mistake of taking it if it's better to just get a car there and if it's less hassle? I feel like there's a lot to deal with and it's our first base moving in together but his second base overseas. Okay, I'll look into the USAA bank account. Can you make online transfers with USAA? I feel like I have so many questions haha
Odelya Essazade you can send me a message on fb and I can help as much as possible. We didn’t bring a car. We just got two here but that was personal preference because I wanted to use all our extra money to travel and save lol
Oh my gosh that would be helpful! Who do I search for on fb? :) Yeah that makes sense! BTW I'm using my sister's account here. My name is Matilda Cummings.
Renting a car to drive to base from the airport? Sounds like your sponsor was a slouch. ....a lot of these “problems” are not problems, they’re a part of being stationed overseas
kikicb10 oh sorry about that! It's a briefing to teach you all about the different signs and meanings and the difference of driving here. And then at the end you take the test! Hopefully that helps!
I’m English and live in Lakenheath, so if you have any local questions, feel free to @ me. I can’t help from a US military side, but can help with local other bits.
We will be in Lakenheath in 2020, thanks for making this video! I will take down notes for sure. This is really helpful.
believexzine we are going to Lakenheath 2020 as well
I’m going tomorrow!
So so so helpful! We just got orders yesterday and this will be our second time overseas so we are STOKED! 🥳

Please do one about getting your dog there. I am moving with my husband in September and we are stressed about my dog.
alyssa mangum yes I will try to soon! It’s a lengthy process for sure. How big is your dog?
Thank you for these videos, been very helpful. Just got to Lakenheath a couple weeks ago.
We are getting stationed there in spring. Very informative video. Thank you.
Thanks for making the video, it helps a lot. I’m PCSing to Mildenhall next week. Just finished tech school.
Thank you so much for this video.. we may be getting orders there.
Savanna Cintron I hope it helps!
we just got out follow on orders to England. Can't wait but So much to figure out. love your videos, keep them coming. could you possibly do one about the schools or how you found your house? :)
Nicole Durbin yes definitely!! If you have any questions personally just let me know! I'll try to make those videos within the next few weeks
Hello! I am trying to do my next video for you on the schools. Do you have any specific questions you want me to answer?

Love your content, Can you do a video about University for military spouses in Uk (Mildenhall)
Just remember to drive on the right side of the road, I mean left. Unless you have diplomatic immunity.

Just found our we’re going here for our FDS today. We have a 3 year old and a 5 month old. And a dog . Nervous especially with Covid now
Honestly covid is the least of your worries here. It’s so much better than the states. I feel like base is just a bubble and keeps to themselves.
OMG I wish I had seen this when we came in October! So many great tips 💕
What tips do you have for me. Where is a good area to live?

Coming to England in August!
How is on base housing? Is it limited? I’m married and looking towards living on base, do you have any experiences?

Im in tech school right now and got informed that my first duty station is RAF Mildenhall, how is life in the UK?
Question- car seat! I have a 19 month old. Did you just use your us ones? Thanks for all the info!
Shannon Boeckx yes I did. I like them better.
Thank you. You are my current best friend. Hahaha
thats odd the sponsor is required to set up the p.o. box here prior to the member's arrival so if the need arises they can MPS/USPS items as required

4G coverage is improving, though it does depend on your provider, EE has the best coverage at the moment !

Hi, how I find you on Facebook
I move to midenhall in August and I have few questions. Thanks
I'm sure people can work all this out for themselves! They don't have to be spoon fed!
p5aul789 it seems your the only one in these comments that thinks that...
Americans remember. Also it's very different here. Cut them some slack
Well don’t watch video then, it’s for Americans in the UK for the first time. The Uk is different compared to the states.
Rubbish Our internet is faster than america, you can get 4g everywhere, it must be your base that is the problem.
Nah depends where in America. America has shitty internet in some places, and the world's best in others
best way to make it in the uk is simple: DONT COME TO THE UK!
