William Corkern I found x2 boring, I mean, it’s cool that you are riding backwards and spinning but the spins are really slow and the adrenaline rush only lasts a few moments
The reason why X2 is not better than Tatsu is because it was made by Arrow. It can be extremely rough and painful at times while Tatsu remains incredibly smooth after 15 years.
Zombieface Coasters I rode this a little while ago and thought it was ok because I didn’t have that good of an experience on it so I want to try it again do you have any tips because I want to like it
@@Hervinbalfour X2, Twisted Colossus, and Tatsu are definitely the top 3 in the park. I make it a point to ride each one every time I go to Magic Mountain. I wonder if they’ll still hold up as my top 3 after I eventually get on more coasters around the world
Fun Fact: Due to the terrain, the total elevation change on Tatsu is 263 ft. (80 m). I'd imagine this is measured from the top of the lift hill, to the base of the Pretzel Loop.
I think in general, when Fright Fest starts, Tatsu becomes very popular & competes with others rides. I haven't been to Six Flags since 2010; that alone is brutal as a fan.
Tastu was my first upside down coaster, I rode it back when I was in 6th grade, definitely an awesome coaster. I strongly remember thinking "this is what it feels like to fly" haha
That pretzel loop makes the ride- it's amazing. Now if only six flags would actually RUN three trains when I'm there I also love terrain coasters and this is a great one for that. It's also higher from its tallest point to its lowest point that Goliath, so I believe it's the "tallest" coaster in the park (Superman doesn't count). Having the pretzel loop at the end is a good decision too. Save the best for last, so the whole ride is a buildup to that
I have to say this ride looks intimidating with its big Pretzel Loop! Its great location helps making the ride spectacular as well. Oh I wish there were more Flyers in Europe... Great video as always ;)
Tatsu is the unrivaled king of flying coasters in the West. However, now it does have some serious challengers in East Asia, such as Flying Dinosaur. And yes, that massive pretzel loop is so intense it does really push the boundary of what people can handle. But hey, this is also the park with X2.
After waiting 13 years I finally went on it. It’s a very smooth and graceful until that pretzel loop happens. I don’t understand how to describe that moment because the moment you go down all hell breaks loose
I have to say one of my favorite parts of the ride and one of my favorite parts of any coaster is right after the pretzel loop when you are still on your back, when it exits it, you get a sense of weightlessness as you fall back down onto your stomach instead of on your back. It is one of the coolest parts of a ride and doesn't get enough credit. I lapped this ride so many times and that element was one of my favorite parts of the ride.
this is one of my favorite rides, and even 12 years after opening it is still a very smooth ride. anytime i am there, i always try to go on this ride. love it
Nova9999999 Get him to ride The Flying Dinosaur in Universal Studios Japan. I found it to be even greater than Tatsu, due to the intense inversions that come right after each other...
Tatsu's the only flying coaster I've ridden so I don't know if it's still the 'best', but the pretzel loop is definitively not too forceful in my book, and the overall experience is absolutely marvelous. Plus, because of the flying position, it's the best lift hill experience ever -- nothing but a wide open 180~ hemisphere view of the park and beyond (and straight down!). Beautiful moment of serenity before the exhilaration to come. :)
In America it's still the best as far as I know, Universal Studios Japan just opened one that's kind of one-upped it, but only slightly called "The Flying Dinosaur"
Tatsu is an amazing ride. This video does not give it the credit it deserves for its setting. While you are not really very high off the ground compared to other big rides such as X2, you feel super high up due to the way you fly around. The horseshoe turn is absolutely stunning as the ground FLIES away from you. And the pretzel loop is something else. I've ridden it dozens of times but I've never once been able to mentally prepare for how awesome that drop is. You tell yourself you are read but when you head into that little pop up right before it, you always submit! I will always remember Tatsu as one of the greatest coasters in the world.
I love Tatsu. It's my favorite coaster at Magic Mountian. The pretzel loop is awesome and not overly forceful. If anything, it could use a little more force to really kick up a notch.
Not "overly forceful"??? I just rode it two weeks ago and the whole first row of riders pulled into the station totally blacked out. People thought they wero dead. Lol
3:32 What about the part where you say, "Since this ride can be to extreme for some, you can sometimes see vomit baking in the hot California sun due to idiots who eat before they ride and know they have motion sickness, and staff deciding they are not cleaning it up."
I rode superman first... was bored.... Rode tatsu.... beast on steroids!!! It is ultimately my favorite ride, still topping raging bull and goliath (great America) and original X.
i remember riding this roller coaster on my first trip to six flags. it was the first ride i went on, and i got to experience a kid barf all over the tracks of the final breakrun. those were the good times
My favorite rollercoaster. A ride I'd both describe as one of the most gentle and one of the most intense I've ever been on. Due to your position you basically don't feel the first drop at all, but that pretzel loop is something else
Haven’t rode this yet. It sounds crazy! I hear most people gray if not black out on that pretzel loop. I’m not ready for such a ride yet. Still cleansing the GP from my system one ride at a time.
Took my 13yo cousin to MM and this was his first real roller coaster. He was so nervous in line and as soon as that first inversion hit he was screaming "YEAH!!!" for the rest of the ride. That pretzel loop in the back seat, oh my god....
Hell yes TATSU is one of a kind alright is High above the ground and with all them trees on the bottom u feel like ur flying, and the pretzel loop is the best one ever,no other ride like this one can compare to TATSU.
After just returning from magic mountain a week ago, Tatsu was my first flying coaster, and it’s now my 2nd favorite roller coaster Of all time, just behind Twisted Colossus, and the ride operator that was in charge of scanning the flash pass watches, the device was glitches for Tatsu (and that of Goliath too) to where it would allow me to go through, but then also wouldn’t remove the pass until I canceled it, and I exploited that to the best of my abilities and rode Tatsu about 9 times that day, while also managing to get at least one ride on every other major steel coaster (besides green lantern which I’ve heard nothing but bad things about)
COASTER BOT it was unforgettable, going to that park for the first time was like going to Disneyland for me, (which I have an annual pass for too) and I went there expecting X2 to be the greatest ride since I wanted to ride it ever since Coaster Force uploaded their POV of it 8 years ago, and when that dream came true I couldn’t be happier to ride every single ride in that park, and tatsu was directly after x2 (which x2 was the first ride of the day) and I was instantly hooked, the insane forces and my first experience on a flying coaster make it an absolute work of art, especially with those beautiful light up wheels it has at night, Twisted Colossus would’ve came 2nd to Tatsu if they didn’t somehow manage to duel, they only had 2 trains on it when I went and they managed to duel as I was on the green track, and that’s what sold Twisted Colossus for me, surprisingly not a single coaster I rode in the park was bad, even Viper, I actually enjoyed it more than Batman surprisingly, maybe it was due to the fact I’m tall enough where my head can’t hit the restraint but who knows, anyways, I’d just like to tell you to keep up the awesome work that you do on your channel, for how small your channel is (no offense) you put out such high quality content that’s always enjoyable to watch
I know the feeling of going to a park and it being a dream come true, it's fantastic. I totally get you, thanks for the kind words, it really means a lot :)
Tatsu is a wonderful ride wonderful when it lasts, but my only complaint is too much time confined in a prone position after the ride is finished makes me feel like a hanging piece of meat that's still alive when that piece of meat would prefer to be "harvested" already if not let go, especially since I found the operations aren't the best at SFMM (although I'm not sure it's all the fault of the ride ops). However, the pretzel loop is worth it though since it's so intense yet smooth; because the forces on that pretzel loop make it necessary for the upstop wheels to be just as are big as the main ones, despite the fact that the main wheels do most of the work most of the time. It's truly amazing; you can allow yourself to experience those forces because you it's as though one can feel those strong upstop wheels protecting you. That's probably true for every B&M flier (that has a pretzel loop, anyway). Great video, thanks for posting!
I could see a flying coaster coming to Blackpool Pleasure Beach as a replacement to Infusion. I’d say it would be 100-150ft tall. It would fly around the park, interacting with all the other rides. It’d become the world’s longest flying coaster.
My 16 year old daughter wanted me to go on it with her and I said no. When she came back, she said I had to. I did and it was so much fun, we rode it 3 times in a row. I was 64 then and I'd do it again anytime! A comment about X2 while I'm here. I always said that was one coaster I would never ride, but I did and if anyone doubts the G it produces, I came very close to losing an elastic sided boot at one stage.
This ride was a little boring to me, until the loop. That loop was the most intense thing I have been on. I don't know if it was in a good way. The force on It was actually painful possibly because I was not ready for it and I didn't really even look at the track before getting on.
Hey Coaster Bot, the top speed is actually reached on the pretzel loop, not the first drop :P If you need proof of that, Manta actually has a first drop that is 2ft taller and only goes 56 mph.
Great video. When i rode Tatsu, i made sure i got the front row. Unfoetunately, the bottom 3 vertibre in my neck are fused, which limits my ranfe of motion in my neck, so i couldn't look up very well to enjoy the ride like I wish i would have been able to. I would imagine for most people this is a great experience though!
2:00 - "Incredible amounts of force" -> Are there any stats on how forceful the Pretzel-Loop is? Based on the looks of the Loop I would've guessed around 4Gs? Is it more?
I think this is the 2nd best in the world, behind Flying Dinosaur. Great video, love the content! Out of the 5+ times I've ridden, I've grayed out every time
When I went to magic mountain for the first time this ride broke down twice in 3 hours because a single row wasn't moving into the flying position. I had a flash pass and reserved a ride. After the ride opened again it changed the reserve time to 3 hours later :/
Can you do lagoon explained. It's an amusement park in Utah and it was going to be bought out by six flags and I've heard many story's of it but I don't know the full history. Would love if you could do it
Is it a normal thing if there’s a gap in between my back and the seat? I’m tall enough, and can still be held in. The restraint only comes down a certain amount and I’m constantly being pushed against the restraint. Maybe because I am small?
A corkscrew is like a vertical loop after a giant grabbed each end of the track and pulled to stretch it out sideways. So, in a corkscrew you are spiralling, going up and down as you spiral. It looks like a wine-bottle corkscrew. For a zero-g roll you are more or less moving forward in a straight line but spinning or rotating as you go.
A corkscrew is like a stretched out vertical loop, for the most part. A zero G roll is like an in-line twist + airtime hill. So you go uphill, invert at the top of it and go back down. You essentially feel weightless for the element. They don't look or feel similar in anyway shape or form.
To be honest, I'm not sure. The best thing to do would be to watch a POV of the ride and determine that for yourself. Everyone counts a drop as a different thing :)
the pretzel loop makes my vision fuzzy and makes me almost gray out (Black out) the rest of the ride is amazing. Way to much G force in the loop though.
I am really curious about these flying coasters. There's none anywhere close to where I live, but I bet that the experience is very unique and thrilling. From the looks of it I would say that this is the second best B&M flyer after Flying Dinosaur at Universal Studios Japan.
I think that even since 2006, when Tatsu opened, it still remains as one of the best, if not the best.
I agree! :)

Is it a normal thing if there’s a gap in between my back and the seat? I’m tall enough, and can still be held in. The restraint only comes down a certain amount and I’m constantly being pushed against the restraint. Maybe because I am small?
As long as the restraint comes down and locks into place, and you're tall enough to ride, you'll be held in safely. :)
@@coasterbot Alright, Thanks!
How about a review for full throttle
I will add it to the list, thanks for the suggestion. :)
the loop made my brain fly into my ass that shit is insane
Can you do big dipper
I'll note that down, thanks for the suggestion :)
Can u do what is manta and what is starry sky ripper please
I'll note those two suggestions down, thanks :)
What's the difference between a corkscrew and ZeroG roll? It looks the same on every ride
Idk sometimes that also confuses me
Joey Moursalian corkscrews slide to the left or right while zerog stay fairly straight. I guess it is also the geforce you experience aswell
I’m going soon but I am afraid of passing out on the loop...did anybody and is it really that bad? I blacked out badly on Batman so I’m not too sure
Ride it early in the morning and you shouldn't have many issues :)
yes it is still my favorite
Awesome! :)
Best one yet
Have you done
What is Batwing
Not yet, but it's on the list! :)
COASTER BOT
Ok thanks
I'm looking forward to the vid on batwing
What song on outro and tatsu is awesome just hurts your stomach
The outro song is toboggan by Silent Partner :)
What is red force
I will add Red Force to the list, thanks for the suggestion. :)
Are there many drops on this ride?
To be honest, I'm not sure. The best thing to do would be to watch a POV of the ride and determine that for yourself. Everyone counts a drop as a different thing :)
This is my favorite ride of all time
Awesome to hear! :)
Was mine until Twisted Colossus. Rode both yesterday. That pretzel loop... eeeerrrrraaaaaggggghhhhh!!!!!!
I love this ride
It looks fantastic! :)
SIMPLY THE BEST!!!!
Better than all the rest?
He'll yeah......MR. TINA TURNER!!!
Is it better than x2?
the pretzel loop makes my vision fuzzy and makes me almost gray out (Black out) the rest of the ride is amazing. Way to much G force in the loop though.
The pretzel loop element is very unique. It seems that quite a few people like that high g-force sustained throughout the inversion. :)
Everett Rubio, that's the point
The pretzel loop is one of the greatest things ever.
I am really curious about these flying coasters. There's none anywhere close to where I live, but I bet that the experience is very unique and thrilling.
From the looks of it I would say that this is the second best B&M flyer after Flying Dinosaur at Universal Studios Japan.
It definitely is a unique experience! :)
It's one now instead of two at the beginning now you can see people walking as you glide by
The smoothest rollercoaster in the park.
The best flying coaster i have ridden
Awesome!
I haven't been on it but it looks pretty cool
Indeed it does :)
Best damn ride I have ever been on.I enjoyed it.
Awesome to hear :)
Next time I go im getting on this hell ya
