    I have never stuck with a work out challenge for so long. Previously to this video I have never done yoga but now I am on day 11 and I am OBSESSED! I really can't see my day without yoga now. I truly have found a new passion that I plan to keep up with. Thanks for making yoga not so scary and fun Adriene! You truly have changed my day to day life not just physically but mentally as well.

    Hey, Adriene! I know you get a billion comments, but I just have to say how thankful I am to have found your videos! I have Cystic Fibrosis, a genetic lung condition. With CF, your lungs get filled with mucus and you can't clear them like normal and it results in numerous hospitalizations and lung damage. It also causes you to cough a ton. With CF, you can cough so hard that you pull muscles, dislocate ribs, pass out, etc. Well, for the last 2-3 years, my back has slowly been getting worse. I have scoliosis and the coughing and pulling muscles has just made it horrible. My prescribed muscle relaxers and I really don't like taking things like that. Tons of people told me to try yoga, so I ordered a Mat and browsed a billion videos and practices trying to find the perfect one. Yours just spoke to me. It wasn't intimidating and made me want to start. I'm about to do this video (Day 11) of the challenge, and just from doing the beginner courses and this 30 Day Challenge, my back has been almost completely pain free! Not only that, but focusing on the breathing helps my lungs a ton. It's also amazing how flexible/strong I've gotten in such a short amount of time. So, thanks so much, Adriene! You absolutely rock.
    Keep em up, my friend!

      @thepsychedelichands 9 лет назад +17

      I'm so glad to hear you are feeling better :) i thought yoga was just a hipster fad thing until i tried it out with Adrienne. You don't need an expensive mat and latest must-have yoga pants plus a hefty monthly fee.
      Really, it takes just a mat, and internet connection. :)

    • @MorganSolo
      @MorganSolo 9 лет назад +15

      Haha, same! Being someone who has lifted weights, I was like "how in the world would stretching into strange positions and breathing different help my body?" but once I finally started I've been blown away. I still don't think I would have ever started if it weren't for Yoga With Adriene . She's just so carefree and doesn't make it so serious. All these other videos everyone takes themselves so seriously and I'm not a very serious person, so Adriene's joking and just fun vibe really helped me and made me want to get on the mat. :)

      Hi Cystik1! I hope you are doing well! I'm so glad yoga is helping you. I have a very good friend with cystic fibrosis. Your symptoms, including the scoliosis, sound the same. He was doing very poorly and ended up getting a double lung transplant this past summer. He is literally jogging a mile a day and hiking mountains. Because of him people with CF are near and dear to my heart. I just wanted to reach out and wish you the best!

    I've never been athletic or flexible, then my husband deployed and I gained a lot of weight. Then he came home and I got pregnant. I still haven't lost the baby weight 2 years later and I've been feeling really down about myself. When I started this series, I didn't have much hope for it, but I'm realizing that there are good things about my body that I didn't see before. I'm not thin or flexible, but I'm stronger than I thought I was and my body can make the coolest shapes! I guess you're helping me to love the body I have right now! Thank you so much!

    I went to ballet classes from the age of 3 until 18 (I was never very good!) and the one thing I could never do was touch my toes without bending my knees. I was surrounded by all these girls who had their hands flat on the floor while mine were probably a foot away from the ground- I've just always been so tight! After 11 days of yoga I suddenly realised today that my fingertips were comfortably on the ground AND I could almost do downward dog with my feet flat today! I know it doesn't sound like a lot but that's a bit victory for me :D Thank you, Adriene xx #30daysofyoga

    So here I am on day 11.... I have been practicing now for about 5 weeks, before the 30 day challenge I did the beginners videos. I'm almost 50 and have been suffering with serious pain in my hips and hamstrings for about 2 years which resulted in difficulties walking up stairs and hills, and I couldn't even put my socks on without pain. I had pain medication and physiotherapy but neither had much impact on my pain levels. I was beginning to despair about what was going to happen as the pain was just getting worse and worse, waking me up at night and seriously impacting on my quality of life.
    I did Adriene's Hamstring video and at the end, she said something that I will never forget.... Give It Time. Tight hamstrings take a while to loosen and become more flexible. But even after just 5 weeks I have noticed the following benefits:
    I can turn to look over my shoulder now without pain... I can put my socks on while standing (believe me, this is a HUGE deal to me, as both pain and balance have improved), my clothes are a little looser, I'm making better decisions about food (even though weight loss was not a goal when starting this), the breathing helps me stay calmer in my everyday life, I'm drinking more water, I'm sleeping way better, my skin and even my hair looks improved, and even though my hamstrings are still tight I've noticed a VAST improvement in the pain levels and I haven't taken any pain medication for about 3 weeks now!
    Every part of my body from my fingertips to my toes has shown an improvement in muscle tone and I definitely have more energy and tire less easily. Psychologically too, I just feel younger and more excited about life and my future than I have in a long time. All this in only 5 weeks!
    So if you're humming and ha-ing about doing this video, hang in there and know it gets better and better. (I started really noticing the benefits after a fortnight of daily practice). Adriene is a daily ray of light coming into my life every morning and I will be forever grateful to her for bringing the gift of yoga to the world... for free.
    Love and light to all and I wish you all the very best on your yoga journey. Namaste!!

    Dear Adriene, I just wanted to share with you what your practice has done for me. I have chronic pain after an accident in my back, head and neck. I also suffer from mental fatigue. I started doing your 30-day challenge with my brother, who is a professional soccer player, and we both began to experience the benefits of yoga. I notice how I can prevent my pain by making sure I practice daily, and how I have become stronger and calmer. My brother notices how he is more flexible and agile on the field.
    Thanks to your challenges I have started practicing regularly and will begin an instructor course this weekend. I want to make yoga an integral part of my life so that I can deal with my pain and fatigue and just improve my quality of life in general. You have truly led me on a healthier path and I am so thankful. Thank you for sharing this with us, and for being so gentle and caring! Much love/Sarah

    I read similiar experiences in the commets already many times but today it happened to me - at the very end of the practice a beautiful shiver ran through my whole and I started laughing and crying at the same time full of thankfulness. Adriene seriously changed the life of many people for the far better and I am just so thankful to be one of them. Thank you so much, Adriene! You're making this world a better place.

    Day 11 ✔️ Hi friends! I started today's practice by reading the comments to motivate myself, and I wanted to thank everyone for sharing your experiences 🙏 I'm starting to feel like I can't describe the changes I feel as I continue doing the practice. There's probably so much happening at a micro level inside my body; it's beginning to heal, drain (the lymphatic system), and balance all of the molecules (cholesterol, testosterone, hormones, etc.) from energy and movement. The last couple of days were really tough for me for different reasons, but today seems like I'm heading out of the woods to some light. I really appreciate the "Don't Give Up" shirt today teacher, as it reminded me that most breakthroughs and changes are about to happen when things become super difficult and I want to quit. It really helped me to think of all these negative thoughts and physical sickness as toxicity purging itself through myself, and allowed me to embrace the suck...since the suck is what makes the victory feel so amazing. Haha, thanks for listening to my rambles, much love to you all and thank you for continuing to teach me!

Taking time for myself to refocus and center is going to lead to great accomplishments. Not to mention, you seem like a really cool person, a lot like someone I would hang with. So, it's almost like having a friend with me as I work to get back to my best me. Thank you

    I've absolutely been loving this challenge and just the videos in general. On days like day 10 where the day challenge was shorter I followed it up with another session for abs and arms and all the videos are so good. I've already noticed a difference in my posture and how I sit naturally which was starting to become a real problem (a.k.a back problems because of slouching) thank you so much Adriene!!

    Day 11 and I am learning more and more about my body and really reconnecting with it. The heels are getting closer to the ground and the back of my knees ache less and less.
    I am excited to see how my lower back, as well as the back of my legs and thighs get less and less stiff. I feel like I am opening up that energy flow between the lower and the upper part of my body. At the end of todays practice I felt a little crack in my pelvis. It felt good, and I took it as a small sign of appreciation from my body. Thank you Adriene from both my body and my soul!

    I'm like the last person to even think about doing Yoga, but after months of University work at my desk being hunched over, mixed with quarantine rendering me stiff and inactive, I thought I should treat my body with this. Hopefully throughout this journey some passersby will come across this comment as I intend to edit this comment daily for the 30 days to share my journey! Full journey comment thread is on the Day 1 video:) [Day 11/30]
    -
    Day 11 - This felt so incredible for me today wow, I was really focused on all the moves and positions and just feeling every part of my body being really engaged. I think once this 30 Day challenge is done, I will be coming back to this video daily forever because it targeted where the main site of issue is; my hip flexors. I felt so much warmer and looser after this, can't wait for tomorrow!

      Shakti is an important symbol in Yoga culture. She is on one side of the coin - with dear Shiva on the other. Shakti represents energy, power and empowerment. She represents creative energy, creation, fertility and the feminine energy.
      In short, Shakti rocks.

    I’ve never been much of a workout girl except for walking and I have been out of commission since December 2012 because of my back (had to have surgery) and left hip. Changed my diet to plant-based and no sugar and saw videos of people, some who were told they would never walk unassisted again, who started yoga and have gotten their health back. Well, here I am 9 days in and feeling better each day after even being only able to do 15 minutes of yoga. Grateful for you!
