- These are the 3 broadheads I was considering for this years hunt! All heads are excellent broadheads! I Just wanted to see which one flew the most true to my field tips for hunting my deer and elk this year! Remember that all broadheads will fly different on every bow and arrow setup! This is how my bow shot these three heads!
Thanks for all your support!!

Love your content bud! Maybe do this one again with a “control”- shoot a group with your field points to show how you typically group, so you can compare how the broadheads deviate from the control. Also, do it at a distance that would be a bit more realistic in a hunting situation, 50ish yards max?
THIS.
At that distance pretty hard to tell if it’s human error or not.
Yeah for sure! Especially since I didn’t put in a couple field tips as my base result. I can typically hold a pretty good group at the 90 yards but yeah I should’ve added a control
Kinda what I was thinking but the fact that Ramcat hit nearly the same spot was cool....but the exodus missing a little low and then just enough low to split the targets is about the same. I'd say at 40 yds all 3 would be perfectly fine.
90 yds is a heck of a distance. Good job for even hitting the target. Video should be called “how accurate am I at 90yds”
This is why I shoot ramcat. I have never had to do major tuning with them. Good video
I used the ramcat for deer hunting and the Annkhilator for a boar hunt. By far, I love the Annihilator. It does an amazing job on a tough animal.
Before conducting a video such as this, it would be ideal to verify to the audience that the bow is in fact tuned. IMO you should have shot a couple arrows with field points and showed how well they grouped with the broadheads. Because this video doesn’t show how well the broadheads will actually fly if your bow is at tuned.
Yeah for sure!! I was in a hurry and rushed it for sure! I’ll have to do another one with my field tips. The bow is tuned and shoots excellent! I can typically hold a 8” group at 100 yards if that helps at all
Great vid love it
Exodus swept blade are the only broadheads I’ll ever shoot. They are fantastic
I’m going to give them another chance!
I've been looking at those...mind if wondering why the full blade would be better. Swept seems more accurate
Nice job long shot my longest has been at 80 yards but only with a field tip. Love the honesty in your videos no bull crap not sure u can say that about some people's videos
Yep, you have to have a control aka field point. Good luck on your hunt.
Yeah! I messed up on that one for sure! Haha
Exodus puts both of them to shame in real hunting situations
ive used ramcats for 5 years now and take deer every year with them. i switched to the fixed blade ramcats last year.
Great video! I will be chasing bucks near your neck of the woods this weekend!
Heck ya man!!
Ramcats on my bow shoot like a field points and the most important part is the massive blood trails and penetration.
You should give Wac-Em broadheads a try. I used to shoot them out to 120yds. They shot the exact same as my field points. I've never found any heads, mechanical or fixed that matched their accuracy. Those heads also performed very well on deer.
Dang!! That’s insane! I’ll m have to check them out!!
I agree on the Wac'em broadheads they are extremely accurate, they fly almost identical to a field point , I personally love the 4 blade Wac'em
I need to freakin try them cause I’ve never heard much bad about them! Haha
Cool test ,I like the cats , been using the cats for a few seasons now . The set screw functions just enough to be confident with secure blades on impact, as far as I'm concerned anyway.
I just shot the Exodus last night, I've been tuning my bow all weekend and got my slick tricks hitting the same point as my field points. Shot the QAD at 20yds and its 6" low, not entirely sure why yet. My rest is already maxed out on height adjustment as well.
That’s how I was lookin and it was getting frustrating trying to tune it haha
Shoot tune your bow with a bareshaft and you'll be amazed at how everything Flys!
Awesome video.. never tried them... But nice to know... Will see you up in the mtn this weekend... Where it's cooler haha
Yes!!! Good luck to you!!
Nice video really like the distance testing on fixed heads, have you looked at Magnus yet?
I haven’t yet! Sounds like I probably need to??
Haxen Hunt I’m no super tuner but I’m getting sub 2” at 50 yards with mine. I’ve shot the 150 grain stingers and 125 grain black hornet. If you email me your address I’ll send you one of each? thomas26280@hotmail.com
Heck ya I’ll shoot you an email!
Yeah bro he's not lying! The ser razors are what I shoot in 100gr. Absolutely savage and the best warranty in the business! At least worth a shot
Thanks for the review, I have shot the qad exodus for years always swept blade, this year messed around with the full blade and found them to be very critical, they don't behave the same way the swept do at all.
I’ll have the give the swept a try!
critical in a good or bad way?
Braxen, you shoot shoot and review the Torrex XT I'm really considering that bow
I filmed a video with it and then when I went to edit it.... The microphone did not work😭 it’s a sick bow though!!!
RamCat my go to broad head. Exodus second.
When is your next video coming out 🔥🦌🏹
I think 90 was a but far for a test. Still cool to see
What is that clicking on ur draw back? I hear similar on my bow sometimes
Sounds like his drop rest setting
Were you bareshaft tuned?
Ramcat you have to account for spin drift because of the design of the blades. Excellent broadheads use on compound, recurve and crossbow. All 125 grain
I thought about trying annihilators with my crossbow. If they are loud out of a compound I bet they'd scream at 400 fps
Exodous and Montecs sure do literally right on my field point ruined the arrow clipping it
I enjoy your videos a lot man, but there are so many variables that go into shooting a fixed blade at 90 yards. Don’t make a decision off of those results, go to 60 yards which is about the max you should shoot a fixed blade and see what results you get from there.
Thanks for your support man! I had the same results at 60 yards, every now and person will shoot different heads differently for sure! This is what works best for me and I got the ramcats dialed into a 3” group at 60!
Alot can happen at that range but I would shoot and have shot the ramcat and the Exodus and both where very good I don't trust that annihilator it's just too small of a cutting diameter for me.
i would try that exodus again, I think they fly very well so it could be worth giving it another shot
Do you use the swept or full blades?
@@dylanW50 I use full
so which one did you use this season? how did you like it?
I used the ramcat... never disappoints!
Now wait, where's the vxr?your back to the Hoyt.anyways GREAT informative video man
Yeah I decided to hunt with my Hoyt this year cause I’m more consistent with it
@@HaxenHunt I knew something was up,when you had to modify , then remove the grip
What broad head would you recommend if someone was pulling about 45 pounds for there first season
I would stick to a fixed cut on contact head
Thanks 🏹🦌🏹🦌🏹🦌
Any specific brand
Conner Ford my wife shoots “tooth of the arrow” and she’s shooting 40 lbs
What spotting scope you using?
Vortex diamondback
This is literally the thing I was looking for. I couldn't decide if I should get the Exodus or annihilator
The exodus
The exodus
Exodus
Or tooth of the arrow
anymore vids coming out soon?!
Yes!!! Sorry I’ve been out of commission the last while! I’ll be getting them up soon!!
Looked like it flew off to the left, waaay left!
Yeah I found it the day after waaaay up the hill😂

Yes I’d love to give it a shot! Shoot me an email at haxenhunt@gmail.com
Your shooting all over the spectrum.. not the broad heads as much as it is the Archer in my opinion
PSE staff shooter made a nice group at 100 yards, no tuning, loves the RamCats. ruclips.net/video/STqYVZRKifU/видео.html I shoot RamCat, Exodus Swept Blade, and Rage exclusively. Also, did you weigh each head before the test? At this distance, cross wind and head weight variation will play a huge factor.
I could not get the QAD to fly good
Try black widow innovations
Conclusive results based off two shots at 90 yards?
Yeah sorry I was just in a hurry due to low camera battery, but I probably shot 20 shots at that distance and had the same outcome so that’s what I highlighted with just 2 shots
LmO
Not fair trial for exodus that was shooter error I shoot exodus and never had an issue with consistency
Yes it was due to my arrows being pretty underspined… I have them another try with the swept blades on a stiffer arrow and they’re money👌🏽
Not sure why you shooting at 90 yards you should at least started at 40 the work up to 90
At 90 yards? Why not have a accuracy test from 20 to 40 yards which is normal hunting range
Maybe try it at like 30 yards
Why the Hoyt and not the Mathews?
Cause I can’t shoot the Mathews as good as my Hoyt haha
Had the exact same question!
@@HaxenHunt Must say that I am intrigued by the Axius Alpha, perhaps next year. This year, it's Xpedition, GO!
Heck yes!! I need to try one!!
Cause Hoyts are the best all around hunting/target bows ever made
Please do this video again but show your field point groupings first.
Also maybe start at 50 and work your way out. I know 40-50 is most peoples absolute max range that they would shoot at an animal
The annihilator are literally the best BH you can buy.,
Wheres the new videos????? ....... You good ?????
I’m alive! Been crammed with life the last little bit! I’ll be comin back on soon!!
I'm not a guy that usually comments to much first off I'm shooting the annihilator broadheads this year however I dont know a single hunter shooting anything at 90 yards with a bow so why test at that distance also I have always seen that broadheads are by far heavier than fields maybe check out Ranch Fairy might have some tips for you
No accuracy comparison test can be legit without using a hooter-shooter.
Your slapping the trigger
Isn’t it the best to slap it? 😏
They should get rid of the ramcat! I had trouble with those heads! very weak and bad design on the blades!
Really?? I’ve never had any issues with them for years
Punching that trigger a bit though.. hahahah. I do the same thing, Ist never affected my shot
Haha yeah I’ve got a terrible habit of punching the trigger! I’ve since been training more with a tension release which has helped a ton!
I've shot Annhilator and Exodus. Will never shoot Annhilator at a big game animal again, for Turkey, heck ya, but not big game. For me it shot really well, but there was a lack of blood trail from it. I know I had a great shot but in my opinion if I was shooting the Exodus or something along those lines it would have been a much better trail. The Annhilator punches a great hole but doesn't slice, if that makes sense. I shoot 3 vane and line them up with my Exodus blades and it shoots awesome. If they aren't lined up it isn't as good. It looks like you are shooting 4 vane so that may be the difference. Just throwing this out there.
The broadheads aren't the issue.
Would not hurt to Broadhead tune each one of those
That’s very true! I’ll have to do another one where I retune the bow for each one!
@@HaxenHunt that would be awesome the see that review! Could get expensive though lol
Haha yeah! It hasn’t been cheap to run my channel😂 I spend waaay too much!
@@HaxenHunt Yeah the addiction gets pretty expensive I know that all too well
Clutch timing on the broadhead video... 🎯
All flight test with any reliable results has to be from shooting with a hootershooter. A hand held bow has too any variables.
That's obviously human error over broadhead flight. Need to do more realistic yardage like 50yards and shoot field points with them
20-50 yards 1:1 broahead and field point. This is more of a test of your long range ability than a test of the broadhead a
Looking at the comments here, I don’t understand what some people are talking about. This was not enough content to make any decision, plus it was to far for an actual test because human error always plays part.
Running a test at that distance is not significative enough to help the audience. The error margin is too big. Great control of that bow tho
Shooting freehand at that distance leaves too much room for human error. Since there was no consistency in any head, it proves that. A more realistic test would be about 40 yds. Reduces human error and more realistic to hunting distances.
Tune your bow
I hope you enjoyed making this video.........I'm sure you did, because shooting is always fun but I think I missed the point. What was this supposed to show?
Haha yeah I know it was a rushed video for sure! I was just trying to show how these 3 heads flew at 90 yards haha
@@HaxenHunt The Ramcat is a good head but the Exodus are absolutely brutal. I'm not a "gear guy" so I'm not one to try everything new thing that comes out. I tend to find something that works (for me) and I stick with it. I shot 100 grain Thunderheads for many years. Actually had 1 head that had 9 whitetails to it's credit. Had to replace 1 broken blade once and just sharpened it the rest of the time. A few years ago a buddy suggested I try the Exodus. I screwed one of his heads onto my current setup and was instantly and repeatedly hitting a 2" circle at 50 yards. First deer that season was an adult whitetailed doe at 24 yards. The Exodus punch through both shoulder blades. She plowed dirt and leaves, with her nose, for 16 yards and flopped over without another twitch. The blades on that head were still sharp enough to cleanly cut paper or lay a finger wide open. Been shooting them ever since.
Crank poundage down
Where’s your VXR ? I guess you’re not feeling super comfortable with the vxr
Yeah I’m lookin at doing a giveaway with it! Haha
You’re gonna give the VXR away? HOYT FTW!!!
Haha yup!!
Gonna get a RX-4?
Probs not but maybe the upcoming 2021 bows haha
Testing fixed heads at 90 yards really isn’t a real world test.
And many at 40 yds. most ppl not gonna shoot at 90 yds.
There's no way you can accurately test these heads the way you did especially at 90
Unless you shoot three arrows same head same time
And even then at 90 yards you need to be a Olympic shooter
I would of checked your nock on that ramcat....or you were peeking
Peeking? Sorry I’m tryin to remember my whole video without watching it again 😂😂😂
What's the worst way to test something. This video right here. You but three arrows sub 3 in at 90 yards back to back with field points. I'll shut up put a clock down there.
That's waaay to much bow for little boy.
alpha?
Nah this is still the RX1 haha
@@HaxenHunt - nothin wrong with that! (ata/brace is my wheelhouse on the rx1) I didn't love the rx4 options, give me the alpha but with another 1"-2" ata. Love the videos.
Totally!! Thanks so much man!! I really appreciate the support!
fun review, but it drives me nuts!!! 90 yards is not a realistic distance to make the comparison. also, you hadn't shot ANY field points with any of them in order to have a constant to compare to. just a suggestion to those who may come across this video or mr. Haxen, 60 yard test, broadhead then field point on each of them. 90 yards is too far and too open for human error.
Good effort in the video but this distance is pointless to be honest. Even Lusk tests his heads at max 70 yards which is still too far. I'd be interested in 50 yards but 70 yards is max for testing. Too many human errors and weather come into play.
I think that's to far for your skill level 🤔 you need to back off about 40 yards
Video is honestly a waste. Your bow need to be sighted for each head specific then you can do each one
Would never shoot an animal with a bow at 90.40-50 yds tops. Not a grat vid.
The annialator was a better shooter but too small.
Dude you took 2 shoots each and lost an arrow...Shooting at 90 yds. was dumb...You should have taken 3-5 shots at 50, 60 yds max...Wasn't even a half-assed experiment...It was 1/4 Assed at best...😥 Sad...
Yeah I know it appears that way, that’s my bad. I didn’t have a ton of battery in my camera so my video had to be fairly quick. Before I filmed... which I should have stated, I actually took shots 40,50,60,70,80 and 90 yards and had the same outcome at each distance. I just filmed and edited the 90 yard ones. It wasn’t a very good idea to just do it with what camera battery I had haha I’ll need to actually document more on another video! Thanks for the input though! I really appreciate it and how you’re lookin out for me! Thanks man👊🏽
@@HaxenHunt ...Ok, I MAY have been a wee bit 😳 snarky!? Lol...If ALL your shots are that consistent, I'm shocked the Exodus didn't win...Unless you Broadhead tuned your bow without using the Exodus because every test I've ever seen the Exodus always wins...The Exodus does have the most sweeping blades that swing over the back of the arrows 🏹 on the market...Anyway, happy hunting! Btw, I love the Exodus...
Yeah I didn’t broadhead tune with the exodus, I’ll try that and see how it goes! Cause they’re the most functional in my opinion!
@@HaxenHunt ...Ahhhh, And now the plot thickens! Lol...Remember, the Exodus have the thickest blades too at .040 ...I'm willing to bet that as soon as you broadhead tune the Exodus, it'll fly the best 👌 according to your fieldpoints and they'll have the deepest penetration...Good luck 👍 with your next test...I'm subbing now...
That’s a very valid point! I’ll give them some more love in trying to see how they shoot once they’ve been specifically tuned! Thanks for the support!👊🏽
90 yards is to far to judge equipment. To much human error involved.
There is no reason to shoot 90 yds with a bow! Get a rifle!
Anyone else find this video absolutely useless? Groups? Human error? Nothing? Lol. Waste of time
