Hi Dan, is there any reason you arnt using these heads for elk or whitetail? they look very promising but i dont know if i should use them. looking for your input, you're the man. thank you kindly.
Yeah, they fly great, but my experience with them is that they don't make good blood trails imo. But l, when they die within 30 to 40 yards, you dont need a blood trail, or much of one!! 😂😂
I'm sure John Lusk is enjoying some popcorn watching this video!!! I absolutely love these broadheads. I also love that the Innovative Outdoorsmen sells a Stay Sharp guide/ kit to make sharpening the blades easy. Last thing, regarding flight accuracy; I found that with a 4-fletch AAE Max Stealth configuration, my arrows consistently hit the same location of the white dot on my Morrell High Roller at 40 yards. The group tended to not be as consistent with a 3-fletch Blazer configuration at the same distance.
QAD Exodus broadheads are great. They are an awesome choice for those that have shorter draw lengths and lower poundage. My daughter uses them on her setup, right at 50lbs and 26" draw. Complete pass throughs on both of the white tail bucks she's harvested the last 2 years.
You're supposed to remove the little rubber o-ring before putting it on the arrow. It's just to keep the metal collar in place in the package so the blades don't fall out.
Just wanted to say thanks for all info. I’m brand new to the world of archery. Only about a month in. Been watching you MFJJ and Tim and all your videos are great info. Thanks.
Happy with the full version. They are easy to sharpen (straight), tough, and shoot well. I also shoot Magnus - I am loyal because of Magnus’ warranty and equally good performance on game. Both exceptional
I carried the Grim Reaper Micro Hades 3 blade 125gr as well as the QAD Exodus 90 degree in my quiver last fall. I ended up shooting my bull at 27 yards with the QAD and it left incredible hemorrhage as well as a sweet bullet hole. Great video and testing!
Love these broad heads. Been using the 90deg 100g. Shot a black bear and whitetail buck both under 30 yards. Full pass through. Bear jumped from the arrow hitting a log behind him. Buck had two ribs cut clean through and still buried 10” into the ground. Love the chisel tip, easy to sharpen if needed, and fly straight and fairly quiet.
These were the first broadheads I bought after a lot of research. With the current fixed market I see absolutely no reason to switch. The exodus penetrate excellent, are extremely robust, fly well, and are affordable.
Great test, but I got distracted by your arrows ability to stand up to the abuse. What arrow were you using? Did you have a titanium collar on the end? I didn't get a good look.
Good video. I like that you test stuff for the everday guy as well as "high end" equipment. Second part is for MFJJ- My dude just shot into osb and two pieces of cement board with your titanium inserts and beat them through with a hammer and they held up! I think he needs hooked up with at least a free dozen! Hahahahaha.
I researched it before I bought exodus swept heads. Didn't see anything against them and asked a warden. Do you have a link to where you found your information?
I remember seeing something about a barbed broadhead and I asked a warden and he said that barbed heads are in fact illegal but the meaning of barbed it sounds like is up for interpretation This was also a few years ago
@dansmith8933 yeah, it was a couple years ago for me as well. Been shooting the swept the past 2 and a half seasons and have harvested 3 bucks and 2 doe with them. Just looked it up again to see if anything has changed and asked my dad whom is a retired game warden if he ever remembers it being illegal. He says no, but is not sure if anything has changed in the last couple years since he retired, but said it would be listed under the rules. I'm 99.99% sure they are legal in Pennsylvania. Hope this helps if you were interested in hunting with the swept heads
I agree. Have you had different results with any fixed blades passed 60? A two blade single bevel has less surface area i bet they’d do a little better
@@bowdude33 RAD madman LPS, VanDyke and Rivals all match field points out to 90yrds! All three are low profile fixed solid blade broadheads. The standard LPS comes in packs of 5 for $34.99 and are a legit setup. I recently started shooting the Rival and love them!
@@bowdude33 if you want an Indestructible fixed 4 blade made of race car axle shaft material. Look at Smith Brothers Archery, I haven't tried the broadhead yet but their competition fieldpoints are Indestructible and the broadhead is made of the same material.
QADs are tough! Thanks for watching! -DS

I’ve taken 4 whitetails with the qad exodus.. I don’t see myself switching anytime soon. Fly like darts, I’ve only used the full.
Yeah, they fly great, but my experience with them is that they don't make good blood trails imo. But l, when they die within 30 to 40 yards, you dont need a blood trail, or much of one!! 😂😂
@michaelbushey2787 same for my experience also. Awesome head, just wished they had better blood trails for the poorer shots/ hits

First broadheads I bought. No reason to switch up. Great choice!
Just because this head is cheaper doesn’t make it inferior to the high dollar heads. I use the full and that head is a killer
great video. can you do a G5 Montec vs QAD Exodus. I would love to see the results on a video like that.
That’s a new backyard! Looks nice, congrats.
My favorite fixed blade broadheads of all time.

I didn't know that

Bullet hole hmmm 🤣
Best broadheads I’ve used . Good price. Easy to tune. Good damage and reliable
love these heads, only switched to iron will sb's for swamp/marsh hunting whitetails where a frontal is sometimes the only thing you can hope for.
Fixed broadheads will always fly lower at extreme ranges due to Additional friction in flight.. (blade surface area)
Lusk archery adventures. Does reviews on these shooting through concrete and steel
Love the 90, they are super durable,
Been using them since they came out. Its a hard to beat head for sure

I’m more impressed with the half outs not bending on the angle shots
If it's titanium, it just won't bend... they're crazy tough. Aluminum is a different story

Best stuff imo! Also, the Ferrell is warrantied if bent or broken! Not a lot of people know that, so save them, replace the blades, and shoot straight
Great test
I need to see the Exodus vs. the G5 striker v2s!
Awesome thanks for sharing 👍🏻
Great test, but I got distracted by your arrows ability to stand up to the abuse. What arrow were you using? Did you have a titanium collar on the end? I didn't get a good look.
Axis with steel collar they come with now
Be sure to read the regs the swept can be considered barbed.
Terrific 👍🏼

@ElkShape 👍 Gotcha! But work with me here. I'm trying to politic for some free inserts for you. Hahahaha.
That Fred Bear under shirt is dope! who makes that?
Marsupial
I had issues with the fulls dropping off past 60 yards.
They aren't as forgiving as mechanicals, but just keep try tiny little tuning adjustments. They can fly like darts
@@joeditz48 I have other fixed blades that fly to 90 yards with my field points.
@@KTMsoldier1988what heads fly the best for you at long distances? I have some qad’s but I’m leaning towards my short profile single bevel Croc’s
@@bowdude33 tooth of the arrow xl vented. Magnus black hornets!
I have both the 90 and the swept exodus and have noticed no real difference between the 2...... great broadheads
This would be a cool test with Annihilator broad heads 100 original and 100 XL
Anyone remember the original QAD that were outlawed in many states because they were considered barbed ?
He’s shooting them in this video lol they are just the swept version
Here in Pennsylvania the “barbed” broadheads are actually illegal but the fulls are legal.
I researched it before I bought exodus swept heads. Didn't see anything against them and asked a warden. Do you have a link to where you found your information?
Only archery rules are peak draw weight no less than 35lbs and broadhead must have outside width of 7/8" or larger and cant exceed 3.25" in length.

Hey Dan, how long were you slinging arrows before you tried your luck on an animal? Thanks buddy
Like my QAD Exodus 125 90’s taken many whitetails with them
At the new place I see. Nice
Never heard a bad thing about the exodus
Except from Aron Snyder he hates them for some reason
What target is that ?
Even if your not on a budget its as good as anything out there. Why not spend the leftover money you saved on something else hunting related
I bet the only reason the swept broke in the plywood was from the hammer lol
Question, I know the arrows are trashed. Did the titanium inserts hold up?
Yessir it did! Good question! 👊🏼
I use these and they are great
Still using the shot sense?
I am telling you if you use the Firenock inserts for your arrows you will not get the mushrooming effect.
I use the Full, no bearded head.
What grain wt😮
Good cheap broadheads but they won't hold sharpness. You'll need a new pack quick. Just buy a better quality steel head
Do they need to hold sharpness? For the price I'm happy to replace each set for 1 kill.
False
I don’t think so let’s see!
Using name brand la corix too! 😂
🤝
The drop is 100% the broadheads. Rocks past 60...

Can someone explain to me how these broadheads are legal. I'm not saying they're bad. Just seem to fall under the illegal broadhead category
In many states the swept version is considered barbed but the 90s are legal.
Why would they not be legal that make a swept and a square version what would make them illegal?
@KTMsoldier1988 the 90s even have an under cut....
Only tests that matter on these 2 heads are flight forgiveness and blade durability. Everything else is the same.
what target is that?
