I have two G4s, a flower power G3, a Ti-book, and a load of other crap cluttering up my house, and I'm always torn between the G4 15 inch and the G3 Flower power. I think the G4 just pips it though! One other you missed - the original Macintosh, which for the time was a stunningly compact machine whose disc drive looks like a smirking face!
The G4s have this beautiful industrial look about them. They perfectly embody the early 2000s design language. Love em! Didn’t pick the original Mac because it, despite looking brilliant for the time, doesn’t stray particularly far from many computers of the era in looks. Still a good point, though.

You and I agree on the keyboard of the Power Book G4.They used that same keyboard in the first Intel MacBook Pros in 2006, and to this day, I feel that the keyboard is the most comfortable and easy to use thing Apple ever made. I wish I had it on my current Mac! Best keyboard ever,
Read the title of this video and crossed my arms.. but I’ll be damned, this list hit 9 out of my 10 and with the only outlier being my picking the eMac over original G3 iMac. Humor me with my 10 notable runner ups.. -PowerMac G4 Mirrored Drives -Macintosh IIci -Macintosh LC -PowerBook G4 Titanium -Black Polycarbonate MacBook -Macintosh SE/30 -PowerBook 540c -Xserve G5 -2018 Mac Mini -20” iMac G5
So happy to hear! All solid runner up picks. It’s definitely a matter of personal choice. I think the white polycarbonate macs (when clean) were so nice too. Black ones perhaps rarer, though. Titanium PMG4s looked really nice too, I think they had some problems with their surface rubbing off on the other hand? Yeah the Xserve lines are interesting. Might have to explore them in a future vid. Also, the eMac is a solid choice. Friend of mine got one working recently, super cool but I guess the design isn’t for me.
Hey, Im a collector too. I have that G4 PowerBook too. Got its box, manuals, stickers, etc. It is a very pretty computer! Its amazing how Apple once wanted the customers to upgrade the memory, storage and even replace the battery. My TOP 10 list would be. Not only Macs: (Not in any particular order.) -MacBook Air 2008 ( yeah the first gen.) -Mac Cube G4 -iMac G5 (I find this generation the most beautiful) -iPod Classic 1/2 gens. -iPhone 2007 (1st gen, also called the '2G') -iSight Camera (Apple used to sell webcam, that connected via FireWire) The camera itself had a pretty low quality resolution. I think it was a 480p, but its design is great! -Mac Pro 4.1/5.1 (the classic ones) -Mac Pro 2013 -Mac Pro 2019 -Mac Studio (they can still build beautiful computers)
Cool! My favourite PowerBook. That’s a solid list, I love the whole 10 lol, I suppose I should have considered the studio. I feel like the 4,1/5,1 are the most functionally designed out of the lot. Appreciate the comment!
I got one too. The problem is the CPU. You can add 2x Xeon 5690 which is still a capable solution, but the current top Intel and M series CPUs are much faster nowadays. It is crazy to know that once those Xeon 5690s cost $1.6K each!!!

Mac Pro 2012 5,1 is the best and with the right upgrades an the rx 6800 xt faster then 2019 Mac Pro
I love my 5,1, but the processors do hold it back. The 6800xt isn’t gonna beat 2 of them in the 2019 either unfortunately. Still a great Mac tho
