Not available, yet, in Canada. However, it has been approved by Health Canada on september 27. I’m wondering how long it will take Apple to make it available.
I'm seeing results after only one or two days. But it may mean from the beginning to get a baseline of the various metrics used. If that makes sense. So if you were wearing it for sleep tracking, it may give you results right away?
@@AppleInsider I've been wearing my series 10 for sleep tracking since launch. There is No Data in the sleep apnea notifications section of the Health app. iPhone 15 ProMax iOS 18.0.1 watchOS 11.0.1
I just got my new apple watch 10, and was really hyped for the sleep apnea feature, because ive eben thinking about that for a long time. But whatever I do, sleep apnea doesnt show in my health app on the phone or on the watch
I’ve been sleeping with Apple Watch on ever since the Ultra came out. You get used to it, I loosen the strap and wear it on the opposite wrist for sleep.
I've been tracking my sleep for a few years now, but I often find that the Apple Watch think I went to bed much earlier than I really did, it often shows that I slept from say 10, when in reality I played Xbox until after midnight.
@@victoralfonsotoledoDo you mean the schedule to set the focus mode to Sleep automatically? I don’t have that on, I manually activate that when I go to bed.
Very disappointed that the original ultra is not listed here. You commit to an $800 watch and so quickly lose support for new features where the hardware should support it.
It is, but I wouldn't say it "should" support it. I don't find it unreasonable at all that a newer model supports things that the older ones don't. This comes down to the processor and the S9 is simple capable enough to do it while the S8 cannot. Apple could have kept this exclusive to the Series 10 but it opted to support the older Series 9 and Ultra 2 to help more people.
Yes -- the processor. The S9 SiP is powerful enough, which is found on the Series 9 and Ultra 2. The S8 though was essentially the same as the S7 and the S6. That makes the S8 basically a 3-4 year old chip. It was with the S9 that it got a spec bump.
@@AppleInsider Really feels like they could have made it work. They’re still annoyed with blood oxygen, which works on the Ultra 1, they can’t give it everything I guess…
@@TheNickGuy408 the blood oxygen is a sensor. Which is still on the ultra 2 and series 10. Jose not currently active. The S8 was basically the same as S6 and S7. It was with the S9 that things got a bump. Without the processing, there’s no monitoring for it.
That's correct. It's because of the S9 SiP that's on the S9 and the Ultra 2. The Ultra 1 won't work the same way the Series 8 won't work. The S8 was basically the same chip as the S7 and S6. The S9 was the first big upgrade in a few years, which is why it has the processing power needed to monitor for sleep apnea. Just happy they were enable to enable this on the older Series 9 and Ultra 2!
@@AppleInsider but do the new Ultra watches have pulse oximetry? Has that Massimo lawsuit that disabled O2 saturation measurements been resolved? Without oxygen saturation measurements the sleep apnea feature is pretty much useless. You need to know not only if breathing abnormalities exist but whether they have a significant impact on your blood oxygen levels.

I was just going to ask about this.
It says unavailable for me and I have an ultra 2!! So it may not be out for the general public yet!
In Canada, I’ve read that it won’t be available until watch iOS 11 is updated to 11.1, which will happen sometime this month apparently (Oct 2024)
Don’t you have to wear the watch (9, 10, or ultra 2 on watch os 11) for at least ten days out of 30 to get the readings?

I agree! I still find the series 9/Series 10 more comfy, but I get by with the Ultra 2 without issue!
Not sure if enabled in Australia.
But not f0r the SE? Wish that was specified.
i think its not available on mexico
Great feature !
Agreed
In Brazil there is still “no data”
The feature isn’t available in Canada
Same in Italy!
It's coming to over 150 countries though they all haven't rolled out yet.
well I already have sleep apnea so I guess when I get this feature in Canada I'll be able to see my results

If you configured the sleep schedule the Apple Watch start counting when the sleep mode is enabled even if you are wake up

they want you to upgrade? im on ultra 1 too
