What doesn’t make any sense is that if the owner has had these boxes for 20 years in a gun safe there’s no reason the seller would even refund him because he would know they’re real lmao
Right? If I were the gun safe dude I'd say no refunds, I got this straight from target asshole
either the whole story was made up and "the guru" resealed the packs and said he got them from someone else, or he bait and switched the legit cards for the fake ones and still has the original set. either way hes a scummy pos.
there was no owner/gun safe. it was all made up imo.
And what kid gets a gift of 3 whole cases of Pokemon cards and stores them in a gun safe? That’s not a freaking gift for a kid, that’s some weird kind of rich people torture.
@@trala8911 and why a GUNsafe? why not an ordinary safe?
Another huge red flag, why on earth would a kid in the 90s put his Pokémon cards in a gun safe in the first place???
Maybe he burned down the garage or something and they punished him by taking the boxes away, then everyone forgot about them.
I did have a friend whos grandparents bought him collectibles for christmas, but always bought two copies. He has a bunch of yu gi oh and like hess trucks stashed somewhere
@subaruWRX but did you put it in a safe?
@@Micoolaw Peope see things differently.
People might just do it for safety reasons, and there is nothing weird about that.

@@wesleyvinal9801 if he’s calling and it’s still ringing then why was he talking into the phone like there’s someone on the other end already? Either way, he was trying to finesse this whole thing. What child in the 90s would have the insight and self-control to immediately store the 3 boxes for the future lol.
Exactly lol it just didnt happen.. The best you will find is someone who literally opened them and put them straight in a good binder or in hard cases.. Other then that all of the 1st edition boxes are owned by serious collectors and either sold to people like Logan to open or they just sit on them to increase value.
fr!!!
I mean I could kinda get if it was 2 because maybe the kid knew the value of baseball cards and thought that pokemon was also gonna get big like it did but all 3 doesn't make any sense to me

I ain't defending him, but I could imagine say a dad who knew a little about collectibles at the time doing it for the kid. A little boy themself though, yeah fking no chance.
