My taxes went up just from watching this video.
They said they won’t be introducing any new taxes to the people of Chicago. Laid out the whole payment plan, it’s pretty impressive
@LucaTradez True they did say that but concentrate on what they didn't say. They didn't say that tax money wouldn't pay for it just that no new taxes will be introduced. That doesn't mean they can't pull from a pile of tax money Chicago already has. Money that should go towards replacing the lead pipes or schools, potholes, u name it
So did mine and I don't live in Chicago or even the USA. 😂
@LucaTradez hahaha that's cute you believe that. We are 40 billion in debt on city pensions. They will 100% tax us and probably state residents for this
LOL youre paying for at least half of it.@@LucaTradez
Hope the millionaires and billionaires benefitting from the stadium are the ones handling the costs.
Bears are a Chicago team. We pay for it as a community. The billionaires already donated their time and effort. It’s your turn to pay.
@@-.TS.- Good bit.
I'm not sure but I think McCaskey didn't want to pay prop taxes in Arlington Heights. Although I'm not sure what the prop tax situati8on would be on the lake front, maybe much less or nothing?
Spoiler- They're not
@@-.TS.-and you’re ok with that or no?
We just gonna park in the water like the drunk mfs on Friday nights😂
fuck parking
😂
Yo that's hilarious😅😅😅😅😅
🤣
Now can we see the $2.5B version 100% paid for by the Bears
So where do we park ?
Phase 2 was saying double Decker Parking in the south lot.
McCormick
@@donnellydagreat5509 Double decker parking for 30,000 + cars? Right. That's got to be bigger than the stadium itself.
You walk with your legs
@jamesporter3761 no shit
Need to build up public transit to the area to bring in long-term revenue for the city.
There's an electrified Metra stop right next to the existing stadium, and it's pitifully underutilized.
One chicago had so much opportunity to boost this are
It's an interesting concept. The problem with the South Loop and Lakefront area. Is the public transportation for the whole entire Metro Area. There needs to be a feeder rail connector. Meaning you can run rail services to Union Pacific, Milwaukee Road, BNSF and Joliet. The Bus connectors do not work at the Museum Campus, Soldier Field. You need to be with a 1/4 to 3/8 of a mile from the front door. The Arlington Heights serves the entire Metro area in the Real Estate catchment area. This project is nothing but a Son of 10 shoeboxes and a Pullman Porter fantasy.
10-15 walk to Roosevelt is too far for you ? 😮
Phase 1🤦🏽🐻👇
They need to make a bridge connecting the stadium yo the train station
The Chicago Mayor needs to fix the CTA first. Without good public transportation this is nothing but waste of funds.
Holy smokes when this is done I’ll be traveling from cali to watch my bears!
*if
You’re a fool.
@@salvasaur let's hope we get our new stadium built too....
@@collydub1987 Taxpayers covering costs for two stadiums sounds like a lot, but if something reasonable can be worked out...🤞🏾
Honestly, if I had to choose between the two, I'd go Bears. Soldier Field is trash. At least Comiskey is well maintained
@@salvasaur a little part of me is worried that if we don't get the 78 we might relocate to Nashville. I know that would be insane for Jerry to do, but I wouldn't put it past him. I agree that sox park is a decent stadium. Just needs more amenities around it.
Unless I'm missing something, it looks like there is literally no parking which is the biggest complaint of the current stadium. Nobody wants to tailgate in a parking garage.
Tailgating isn't even allowed in parking garages. They literally have removed at least half of the existing parking with this plan. They are even saying they might turn the remaining part of the south lot into a parking garage. This whole plan is a joke. It doesn't do anything for the current two biggest problems. Parking and Traffic to the stadium. The plan makes small improvements directly at the stadium but does nothing for actually getting to the city from the suburbs.
I swear people search for something to complain about, You don’t even know all the details yet.
@@commonsense3921 I have seen the renderings, watched their press conference, and read the letter they sent to all season ticket holders. From everything you can tell our complaints are warranted. This plan is not a good one.
@@Scott-ou2iz Agree, What are the Bears actually doing to make this a better FAN FRIENDLY experience? Baseball/football fields are not fan friendly. Not a large entertainment village/restuarants, no tailgating that I can see, parking garage is in one single place so every car is going into the same place on the same side of the field? It will be a cluster ^!%!. Still an overall pain in the butt place to get to to see a game.
What do u think the are going to put under all that park space!
The stadium design from the outside. Looks like a giant George Foreman grill 😂 🤣
You would have thought they learned their lesson after the Soldier Field "renovation"
It looks like Allegiant stadium And like the new Titans stadium inside. Both of which are like the stadium this firm designed for the Chargers which didn't happen. $2.5 Billion for a cookie-cutter stadium. What a joke.
Stadium design reminds me of the allegiant one in vegas.
But I was told that the bears wanted to evacuate from the city, why are they moving 10 feet?
The outside looks better than the inside
Pay for it yourself people should never have access to the public spaces shown here. You can stay at least a mile away from the stadium
looks cool. i'll believe it when i see it.
Megs field and the ones still available and there will be a parking garage
the big windows are a cool concept if its gonna be enclosed
I believe the renderings illustrate clearly that it's a fixed roof facility.
The same mfs living this are going to be the same mfs complaining about everythings expensive
Can we get a Harold's, McDonald's in the stadium😂
That was the blackest comment ever
I saw a Harold's truck at Hallas Hall during last year's training camp. It was like $14 for 4 wings.
@@blackitolism3000 pass at that price.
Spectacular indeed. Build this beauty, and everyone will come. Simply Magnificent. ❤
The only thing I gained from this video is a beautiful venu with absolutely zero parking. Hope there's a part 2 (same music) showcasing all the new parking that will be available lol
Soldier Field had me walking a half marathon from my parked car to the stadium haha
The bears ain't going anywhere but Chitown
Bears about to cook
Who cares. 🙄
lol it was obvious they were playing games with the Arlington site. It’s not the Tri-state area (NY/NJ)… where the Giants don’t play in the city but it all feels interconnected out there.
Here.. the city vs burb ambiance is super obvious. And no, this isn’t an insult to Arlington Heights or Schaumburg, I quite enjoy those 2 burbs, but it’s just different…
The lakefront w/ the skyline & museums nearby was the best choice…
This looks awesome love it
You’re a fool.
Double that price tag. You know politicians and bureaucrats gotta have their kickbacks, ESPECIALLY in Chicago.
Go Bears!
As a fan of the Bears and the Field museum, I cannot wait for this new stadium. That entire museum campus is going to look amazing, and the Field museum is going to get a little more space for people to bask in its beauty, while also enjoying a nice park. The current set up there now, the stadium makes walking around dismal. That new park will encourage year round visitors to Northerly Island and the museum campus. This will improve the city in so many ways. I am in shock with how amazing this turned out.
It’s dope but the El is too far, need to get the public transpiration figured out
There is one way in and one way out. This is a huge mistake.
All I gotta ask is where is the parking?
Train
Underground
Except this makes the stadium even farther from CTA/Metra stops
@@PheeblePhilosopherenjoy tailgating underground LOL
@@jakubpiechnik6294by 5 mins on foot ? 😂
I don’t live in Illinois anymore. But as soon as that stadium is built, I’m coming to a game. Can’t wait for this upcoming season. Haven’t been this excited in a while.
Me since Ditka returned
Don’t hold your breath. The governor don’t want it
Privately funded this time right? Since the last time Chicago paid for a stadium it went soooo well that we only owe 630 million on the stadium you guys want to bull doze over
Right, they should just add on all of the stuff they're envisioning here to what's already there. Build around the current Soldier Field. Modify what's already on the stadium and put a retractable roof on it how about that?
Google exists.
@@ReadIcculus93 You sure their comment wasn't tongue-in-cheek and not an actual question?
I still don't understand how it's legal to have tax payers build a stadium for your business.
Anyone want to combine forces for a new football team, have random people from city X pay for it, and then sell the team for 2 billion?
It's just a total scam at this point. Seeing fans cheer and applaud this is just gross and sad. There's a segment of the fanbase that has no idea the NFL is just taking advantage of the fans now. I know everyone loves watching the games every fall, they love the stars, the plays, the atmosphere...but when they're trying to charge $5 billion for a stadium that probably really costs $300 million...goodbye. We've got Netflix and Prime. This isn't worth it anymore.
Its a public owned facility/land. The Bears won't own it.
Looks insane! I can’t wait
You’ll be paying for it fool.
So you want to build a stadium on the parking lot, then not have any new parking lots?
I like my football outside
It is time Chicago get some positive things going on and not just new stadium on the lakefront but far more.
It looks great but what about the parking thats very important whens it comes down to it Arlington Heights is the best plan to build it has way more land and space and that just the reality of it🐻
WOW!! Bear Down and FGB!!
You gotta have a retractable roof so we can play games outside when the Superbowl happens close the roof
Congratulations to CHICAGO BEARS drafted '24 ROOKIE CLASS, CALEB WILLIAMS! Smart move!
Avg household income in the city is like $55k, avg. household income in the suburbs is like $125K give or take. Bears go forward with this plan the Bears will be forever relegated to an average NFL team/stadium/fan experience at best. Chicago Bears as usually blow the opportunity to chase greatness by foregoing the chance to build a much better stadium/entertainment villiage in AH. But hey the Bears fans from the suburbs with a ton of money in their pockets I'm sure will spend so much time using those baseball fields. LOL
It's a culture problem. Mr 10 shoeboxes, friends of Cottage Grove and Mo and Onk don't like suburbs. The City is Bankrupt.
What a jerk!!!!
A lot of bears fans love the idea of staying in the city. At the beginning when it was first said they might go to Arlington people were throwing a fit
@@mystimallow yeah losers who are happy with living like a 3rd rate team in the NFL.
The long-time Chi Tribune columnist Eric Zorn just weighed in with a nice piece -- trashing this proposed plan! Here's hoping it flops. Let them stay in Arlington Heights.
>>If the Bears want a mulligan on their poor stadium decision, fine. But let them pay for it
In recreational golf, many friendly foursomes allow each player one or two do-overs per round following particularly regrettable tee shots. This second chance is known as a “mulligan,” named for a person with the last name Mulligan, though word nerds aren’t sure which of several candidates it was.
The Bears want one. Some 22 years ago, they metaphorically sliced one deep into the woods with an ugly rebuild of Soldier Field that has one of the smallest seating capacities in the NFL and lacks a covered roof that would have made it a much more useful venue for the Super Bowl, the college basketball championships, concerts, monster truck rallies and conventions.
But at the time, the team preferred an outdoor stadium - as though there’s anything to the idea that “Bear weather” would give them an advantage or that fans enjoyed exposure to the biting elements along the lakefront. And rather quickly and predictably that renovation, paid for with more than $400 million in tax money, proved to be disappointing and inadequate.
As one who saw that coming and wrote several columns at the time griping about what was being called New Soldier Field, I’m hostile to the Bears’ current notion that public money should now help them build the stadium they should have been smart enough to build in the first place.
This looks good but I prefer the Soldier Field renovation
Raiders need to sue the Titans and Bears for copyright Allegiant Stadium
Roomba Stadium!!!🎉
No thank you. Enjoy Arlington Heights!
Still going to suck getting in and out of with absolutely no parking as well. Go to Arlington and the land you purchased
Fuck Arlington we the Chicago Bears
@@Devin-lw7hv Not like Arlington Heights isn’t Chicagoland. Probably easier to get to for most fans with enough income to buy Bears tickets than the Near South Side.
@@MisterCautiontheres only like 10 counties in Illinois that arent losing population and most of them are NW of Chicago.
So Arlington Heights works
@@DaleGribble1 I know it works. AH is even easier to get to from wealthier burbs like Naperville than the Near South Side. And it’s probably easier to get to from most of the North Side if going by car or Uber.
Put a Dome on Soldier Field already. In July 2022 that project was estimated to be 2.2 billion. Enough said.
Looks like the Alligiant stadium .
As someone who doesn't live in Chicago anymore, looks great!
Can't wait to see it!
Guess half of you didn’t watch the whole presentation live or didn’t pay attention
Of course they didn't
So you assume that if people complain about it they didn't watch the video? Bro look at this objectively and tell the world where will there be tailgating allowed? On a parking garage? Or what use do fans have with baseball/football fields on game day? Where is the large entertainment village/restuarants? All parking is at one single location on one side of the stadium?
@@chazzhammer425 not referring to that I’m talking about the funds
Man!! Slow as hell! 😂😂😂😂
I turned it off when they started praying......for a football stadium. Disgusting.
Soooooo what are we gonna do with all the land we bought?
Sell it? Build a practice complex? Doesn’t matter all that much. McCaskeys aren’t gonna lose money on the big ass plot of real estate they bought
The mccaskeys are still intendending to build the casino I belive 2:47
I'm so excited I can't wait GO BEARS 🧡💙💯🐻⬇️🧡💙
I love it, awesome project.
Fixed roof? Lame. Going to miss those snowy rainy games at Soldier Field.
That's what i said I'm not even a bears fan and i said the bears are going to have a dome stadium now.
I was like yeah the NFL is definitely going downhill the last 10 years or so.
You got a lot of bears fans in the comments section happy about the idea. I can tell a lot of these people in the comments are new age bears fans.
I'm a Eagles fan the Eagles better not think about building a dome stadium in Philadelphia.
So does Kevin Warren work for the Bears or the city?
He sure does seem to be doing his best to make sure the city gets the Bears. I hope the Bears ownership sees through Warrens obvious bias towards the city, and says no freaking way are we going to build an average stadium that we WON'T own, and deal with Chicago politics forever. Instead of going to AH where the rest of the sane world would go to maximize profits and more importantly FAN EXPERIENCE.
Where's the parking? All these activities and not one parking lot in sight.
Phase 2: a dbl Decker Parking garage and a tailgate area
2:22 bottom left
I love it, but it’s not gonna pass the Friends of the Park. And the taxpayers still owe $640 million from the 2003 renovation.
Do fans still have to walk a mile to their cars after the game?
What about the restaurants/bars scene?
Arlington…here we come
The revenue for the new stadium can clear the debt from soldier Field in 5 yeas I heard them say. 🤷🏽♀️🐻👇
Pay for it yourself.
Enjoy those taxes
They putting up 2 billion and what the city puts up they can get back by hosting one Super Bowl.

The revenue it will bring the area and businesses will pay for it. Name an arena for a major sports team that they paid for it themselves? The cities and the team benefits.

Spaceship II The Sequel??
This looks like something I could build in madden. 😂
Carm actually thinks kevin Warren matters in this discussion. The Bears billionair ownership and the city make the decisions not Kevin Warren.
I love daydreaming of what the future might hold for Chicago.
LOVE IT!!!!
If there is a Super Bowl there, I’m spending my moneys worth
You sure will be.🙄
Ready in 2038... probably
Oh great even less parking!
But.... where's the parking?
parking is what ruins the stadium
@@malon9776 Okay.. but if you have no parking, how are you supposed to fill that stadium?
@@earlbonovich6912 Everyone is gonna have to take the red line to Roosevelt lmao what a shit show
Parking will be on the outlet they build and looking from the lake, to the left of the stadium
Don’t know why everybody’s loving the stadium. They just moved to Arlington. You’d have a bigger stadium a hotel, and all kinds of restaurants. This thing looks stupid. Doesn’t even have a retractable dome. Just a big waste of money.
So much for the idea of not building another alien spaceship next to the lake.
Who did they talk to? I believe the Fans want parking, tailgating, ease of getting in and out, quality bars and restaurants we can walk too, and security.
Also need more seating( around 80k) and more affordable seating.
Y yall complaining already don’t yall know they get the stadium concept done way before parking so they know how much space for parking they need
Guys it’s got STRENGTHENED SYNERGIES. We have to do it.
Im glad im not the only one excited about strengthened museum synergy!!!!
I think it translates to 10 percent off coupons for Tuesday museum trips!
Awesome!!!
🔥🔥🔥
I am just dreading the name. I can’t wait for Hulu+ stadium
If you're going to copy Las Vegas, why not add the torch too?
Ok, since you are tearing down the spaceship, pay the money back that we gave you to build it.
Are you guys going to stay in Chicago or go the place by the highway?
Hopefully by the highway. I’m hoping this is a stunt
where do you park all the cars ????
Seating not vertical enough, way too much like an old college bowl style stadium.
This plan actually makes current stadium issues even worse. This will make the stadium an even farther walk from trains/food/bars and makes it even harder to drive there and park.
By 5 mins ? 😮
Bro y'all really don't listen! And I see now why our stadium is a thousand years old! Cause most of us hate change. ,🤦🏽🐻👇

What's the capacity going to be?
Three of the four NFC teams will have indoor stadiums. Being a Green Bay Packer fan, I'd rather go to the Chicago's new stadium. Sorry Lambeau Field 😢 ... If it's snowing, I'd rather be in a warm place ... if you catch my snow drift!
Jebus man. Take it back on notch on the music.
Absolute fire! It never made any sense for the Bears to move to Arlington Heights. The train access would be an absolute nightmare for anyone that isn’t on the Union Pacific Northwest line. Besides, who the hell wants to go to Arlington Heights?
Who wants to go to Chicago? The Bears decide to stay in the city it will be the biggest economic failure in the history of the NFL.
48.9 million domestic and overseas visitors visited Chicago in 2022, an amount 60% higher than in 2021. Now tell me how many want to come to Arlington Heights?
How bout’ we close out Soldier Field with another Lombardi trophy before we break the seal on this bad boy.🍺
No parking! You know why? To force fans to sit at the bars and restaurants. This will force fans to put money back into the city by paying $60 to park in a garage and public transportation. Metro’s run every two hours on Sundays. So if you’re coming from the suburbs there will be 10am train and a noon train arriving downtown. Giving fans two hours to waste money instead of tailgating and saving the fans money. They think they’re slick.
You're spending $2 billion to have a carbon copy of Allegiant Stadium, which you won't even own. You show renderings of public spaces, which never are utilized like that in reality. It will still be the most inaccessible place for a major stadium. The CTA train system doesn't even reach the stadium directly. Your taking away the only usable parking deck and didn't substantially address parking in your presentation today. Platitudes for the sake of getting money from the city, state, and federal governments. Billionaires shouldn't ask for public funds.
Very underwhelming to me. The White Sox park looks really cool and fun. This just look boring. I really liked the proposal for One Central which covered the railroad tracks, built new high rises and made this place a whole destination. Not only that, it connected multiple CTA/Metra/Amtrak lines.
