Just bought mine but the polaris version. My first RC. I Immediately check on the gearbox for a missing bearing. What I did not expect is, all of the gearing are metal. I just need to put on some grease. Not sure why mine came with metal gears. Thanks for the very detail review. Really help me a lot on learning about this rc. What's not good about this rc is the electronic. Just bash mine for the first time and the steering servo already shows sign of damage.

This is the most detailed video of the 10428, I noticed that the aux trim and and aux DR on the transmitter are not working on mine. I trimmed the shifting servo to stop pushing because it was keeping to make noise once 2ng gear is engaged, now it seems to work ok but it heats a lot.
The little squared buttons for aux trim and aux DR on the side of the transmitter does nothing, the ones for the steering and throttle trim work nice. The shifting button engages the gears perfectly once I set through the EPA or trim on the display, I fixed my servo shifting issues setting the values written by hand on the top sticker, mine was 52% EPA, -4 trim for 3 channel. I think this should be warned on the manual or the shifting servo will get burnt or stripped. You can hear your own servo at 11:50 making noise and it should be quiet once you stop changing the speed.
If you talk about the front wheel which left the ground it is the caractéristic of rear solid axle, the torque make the front wheel left the ground. OUt of a rear sway bar it is pretty hard to stop this behaviour.
with the TX do you know how many models can be put in the model memory and which receivers will it bind too, being WLtoys I am guessing it might be one of the flysky protocols, thanks :)

Ok where is the crawling test? I run this Truck for 2 years and for the money its pretty though,fast and a capabel trail truck.,ok i break some parts but thats my fail (extreme rock crawling and submerged crawling).
We can always do lot of things by tinkering. But what is important to know is that this roll cage is less wide than a SCT body and the angles on this rollcage aren't same as sct body.

The vaterra tiwn hammer is made is better material, but really more expensive than this one. The WLotys doesn't have the best electronic and you will maybe need to change everything at a moment.

I now ended up drilling a couple of 2mm holes in the top of the gearbox and injectiong grease through them, then plugging them with grub screws (so that the servo can lay flat on top). I'm telling you: eveything sound SOO MUCH smoother and quieter now! Before there was even some squeking and grinding to be heard, like metal on metal, when runing on idle....horrible. Do you have any idea, why the factory doesn't lube gears, it can't be costs? (premature wear I suppose, to sell parts...). Well thank you again for your time and selfless help!
@@putimir Chinese products are far to be perfect. Most of the chinese products come with grease on gears, why this one doesn't have, i can't tell. And in comparison, the first corally (which is a known EU brand) 1/8 did come with a little amount of grease only in the diff.. Arrma, the exb kraton, did come with a very low amount of fluid in the diff.. The hobbyking sabertooth did come with a low amount of grease in the diff. too, which make the plastic diff. case melting when we used it if we didn't put fluid instead of grease.
I'm pretty sure this would destroy the spur gear and maybe all plastic gear in gearbox. Plus, the car would had made very bad gearing's noise. Gearing's mesh is very important, without ball bearing it isn't good at all.
I can't tell if it is trully a 1/9, but it is bigger than a 1/10 buggy and almost as long as a 1/8 buggy. There is more details in my review, the link is below the video.
I just got mine today and very disappointed. I ordered the one with leds and got no lights on it. After the battery charged I tested And something wrong with Centre diff not spinning front or rear shafts. Any ideas?
The 10428 never has light. And the 10428/Twin hammer doesn't have center diff. Are you talking about the 2 speeds? Check the parameter on the transmitter on the channel 3/aux. Maybe the gears aren't engaged. If you don't manage to make it work, do a video and post it on my review on rcgroups, the link is below the vieo, we, me and others users, will help you.
Switch Off When Not In Use it says wltoys 10428 with LED LIGHT on description on banggood. Yes it is a 2 speed and I'm sure I can figure out the problem but don't want to mess with until I speak to banggood
yes there is a mistake on the banggood page about the light. You can already try to check the transmitter parameter to see if it is a gear shift porblem.

You're right, i done a mistake, this transmitter use 6 batteries. Maybe the webshop you are talking about done the same mistake or it isn't exactly the same car. The 10428, A333 (there are two differents cars Wltoys A333 also), and K949 are same, the 10428-C2 or B2 aren't same.

This is the receiver i received. Take a look on the banggood product page (link below the video), you will see the same Tx. This car has come with this transmitter during a long time. Maybe WLtoys sell this car with a different transmitter, i can't tell, i'm not a WLtoys employe or even a banggood employe, i'm a rc user. Maybe you haven't bought the exact same car, there is some models based on the same chassis. It isn't as junk as you think. Sure there is a missing ball bearing but for the price it is a good car. Many user are happy with this chassis, same chassis than K929, A333. I stay honest and show what can happen in real life in my videos, not like many "advertise" videos of reviewers who more like to show themself than the car but who also have many suscribers because their videos are atractive.
rc Ohio I own quite a few Wltoys rc cars most came with everything working and are still in working condition but there is some lemons as well as long as you don't mind what you're paying for. The price ratio vs quality and performance is beyond superb

Most of the time i don't care about comments in videos, they are often biased, i prefer only show what you can expect and make your own opinion from what you see and not what you hear. If you don't want to watch more, you do as you want, but don't be surprised if you find à missing part on this car.

Tx can memorise 5 differents models. But i can't bind it with all the FlySky reveiver i have.

Can you fit the cage under a short course truck body to simulate an internal roll cage?

Yes, you can add grease and also check if the shifting system is well adjusted.

Because the 4 batteries for the transmitter aren't included in the box. Most of the time RTR cars don't come with the transmitter batteries.

I stay honest and show what can happen in real life in my videos, not like many "advertise" videos of reviewers who more like to show themself than the car but who also have many suscribers because their videos are atractive.
rc Ohio I own quite a few Wltoys rc cars most came with everything working and are still in working condition but there is some lemons as well as long as you don't mind what you're paying for. The price ratio vs quality and performance is beyond superb
This one is above than some others WLtoys cars, i mean, better.

I disagree with the below comment,I turned it off after 30/40 seconds coz there was NO TALKING,It would be a million times better if you described what you saw n your reaction to seeing it.this version BIG THUMBS DOWN.SORRY.
Most of the time i don't care about comments in videos, they are often biased, i prefer only show what you can expect and make your own opinion from what you see and not what you hear. If you don't want to watch more, you do as you want, but don't be surprised if you find à missing part on this car.
