    I just picked up a 124017 model and damn im impressed. Its already been upgraded to a brushless motor and aftermarket metal upgrade parts are abundant over all the models. For a chinese cheapy they pack a punch

    Thank you for the nice review, I have this model and been using it for a while now.
    In my side of the world (Dubai -UAE) I got it for 75 CA Dollars, and I can choose from different type of chargers from the seller.
    I agree with in all your points. Thx again

    Great review I bought my wltoys one from banggood and had the option of charger I choose us of course i did put oil in the shocks and they leak so they need an upgrade first thing and it's a simple fix for a beginner at that. I wish it had the option some do with 1 to 3 batteries and lipo I'll be upgrading it to lipo as well and making the frame over from metal tube and side panels

    I like it ! It faster then my lil bro’s traxxas ruslter awd , right about the charger and battery , one thing I wanted to add to it after owning it , I don’t like the turning slider , living in. The desert in Arizona USA , dirt get wound up in there and I blow it out with air , how ever it’s awesome for the price 👍🏽

    Mine only cost 70 and the plug is American which is where I'm from. I also don't mind the Philips head screws, so not really many complaints from me, besides the shocks which can easily be replaced.

  • @Bagman57
    @Bagman57 7 лет назад +4

    I just got one. This is more of a fast dessert Baja buggy than a rock crawler as the diffs are not locked. I also felt the rear shocks are too soft and bouncy and the front shocks don't rebound fully out of the box. I also didn't like flexing of the steering arms on the front steering knuckles because of the very soft plastic used. This buggy is for a kid who's going to abuse the hell out it without breaking a lot of parts. I paid only $72 for it so that wasn't too bad for a fast and durable buggy that's not really RC hobby grade. I myself wouldn't try to upgrade it, just run it as is with a couple of extra batteries.

    • @Bagman57
      @Bagman57 7 лет назад +1

      Update 5/6/17: First of all I don't like the Phillips head screws. Hex head screws would of been a lot better. Second you'll need a JIS Phillips head screwdriver or not a very pointed end one for the screws. Third just snug up the screws by hand when tightening them, the screw heads pop off real easy. I popped one of the screw heads off already when trying to remove the cage and didn't get the cage off because I didn't have the right screwdriver at the time and the driver I had would just slip. I got 8 of the screws out but there was 2 left at the top of the buggy and my screwdriver would just slip. Upon putting the removed screws back on I tried to get one of the bottom screws a little bit tighter and then "snap". Also I would use a cordless screwdriver to carefully remove and partially drive the screws in because the screws have fine machine threads and most of them are around a 1/2in. long and very tight to turn so you'll spend a lot of time wrenching your hand to screw or unscrew them.

    I know this is an old video but sorry I need to correct you on the charge rate of the power bricks. If you freeze at 6:28 when you're showing the ratings on the stickers it shows you the output of the charger. The output listed on the stickers is what determines what that power brick is capable of and how fast it will charge. One is 500mA and the other is 800mA. The 800mA charger will be faster since it outputs at a higher amperage. You need to remember that this power converter is used to convert the AC 110v current to DC 7.4v in this instance which is a lot lower and primarily used for more sensitive electronics. I'm no electronics Engineer but had a huge fascination for it since I was 8 years old and love all things gadgets.

    These are great little rcs the shocks can be easily modded to hold oil just takes a few little rubber o rings and it hadles way better the spring preloads are ajustible ti the real issue and first upgrade i recommend is mettal diffs. Mine stipped the rear diff in 5mins on 2s so i will be getting the upgrade diffs as for steering upgradeing the knuckles to alloy takes allot of slop out! its basicly a twin hammers but more durable thanks to the flexible plastic 😊

    IT IS NOT WATERPROOF!!! 1 Receiver, 1 Battery and some soldering time later and you'll be good if it gets in water. Otherwise great introductory RC car. My first one ever. I'm hooked! Mine came with a 110V charger, from China. Go figure. I live in the U.S. Ordered it from "Tomtop" website $60. Delivery time 2-3 weeks from China. Same goes for parts.

    Does it come stock with LED lights? Which is better overall, Feiyue or WLtoys version?

    • @FanatikBuilds
      @FanatikBuilds  7 лет назад +1

      Yes it does! The truck is completely stock here. I would definitely have the WLtoys over the Feiyue any day. But it is more expensive... you could use the money saved to help upgrade the Feiyue to a better electronics system, at which point it with out-perform the WLtoys. All comes down to personal taste! Hope that helps you a bit!

    • @Bangbangboom51
      @Bangbangboom51 7 лет назад

    Hi mate! im looking to buy my first rc car. Something i can take to the country and also use on bichiman and grass. Do you think this is the one for me? or what else do you recommend? Also, i want something fast. Cheers, i hope you reply

    • @FanatikBuilds
      @FanatikBuilds  7 лет назад

      Hi Drew, it all depends on your budget... is this the best car you can get? NO. Is it the best you can get for the money? Well that's harder to answer. Running on grass and similar terrain will really drain the battery on any RC car... but you will definitely not want to get one much smaller than this. The smaller you go, the more easily it will get stuck and bogged down in tall grass. 1/12 scale is good, but a 1/10 scale is my personal favorite. See if you can find something in that scale that would work for your price point... you may even have luck finding something used, but name-brand in a local classified site. My personal opinion would be to get a Traxxas, but they are pricey. It's all up to you! But hopefully that helps a bit in your decision!

    • @andrewmetcalf554
      @andrewmetcalf554 7 лет назад

      Thanks for replying! Ill have a look at that one, If i need to spend a little extra im not fussed. With the Traxxas. Whats the go with spare parts?

      @andrewmetcalf554 7 лет назад

    • @FanatikBuilds
      @FanatikBuilds  7 лет назад

      Traxxas is a great name brand which has been around for a long time. They've got tons of spare and upgrade parts available, and are hugely popular (and tough) cars/trucks. I personally own a Traxxas Slash 4x4 and it is the best RC I've ever had! However it did cost ~$500 Cad. If you can see yourself spending that kind of money, I would highly recommend it! Here's a link to their website (I'm not associated with them at all) traxxas.com/products/models/electric/slash-4x4-tsm
      Cheers!

      Hard to say, but I think somewhere closer to a 6.5/10 or 7/10. This video was the first time I tried a "rating system" and it has some flaws... in the future I'm hoping to try a more factual rating system so it's not so subjective.

    I am a little gun shy when it comes to ordering from websites other than amazon. Is GearBest really trustworthy? Is this car worth the hundred dollars? I am new to rc trucks and would like to buy a reliable car for under $150. Does this sound like the car for me?

    • @FanatikBuilds
      @FanatikBuilds  7 лет назад

      I can understand the concern. I have never actually ordered from GearBest, I've only ever received their products for review. However, I do have a friend who has bought from them, and his experience was fine. The shipping time was a little over two weeks to Canada though if I recall correctly. I just looked on GearBest, and apparently this truck is on sale right now, and for $77cad, I'd say it is a pretty good deal. It's by far not the best RC out there, but for the money I'm pretty pleased. For any product, when you get right down to it, it's price vs performance vs reliability... and you can only pick 2 of the three. I would put this product more as a price-performance ... reliability is the question mark, but it did not break during my testing, and seems like the materials were reasonable. It's the electronics that will most likely die first. It is totally your decision, but I hope I have been of some help for you!

My brothers got me into RC when I was young, and back then a tamiya TL-01 plus radio and everything was like $400-500 I think. It's crazy how much stuff has changed over time. In my first run the truck was pulling wheelies with little effort. After charging the battery, the rear wheels had very little power to them. With very little pressure, I can stop them from spinning. I will assume that the gears are stripped in the differential. Anyone have answers?

    The upgrade parts are extremely cheap in China. Alloy everything. Seriously... for literally "a few dollars" you can get alloy kits for the arms, hubs, links, buckles and gears. Also Oil filled alloy shocks, all metal driveshafts and metal gear sets.

    essentially, as far as I have seen, this rig is structurally identical to the Vaterra Twin Hammers. This means that you should have no problem installing aftermarket parts for the Twin Hammers. look it up, and before y'all think the Twin Hammers is the clone, this is the clone of the Twin Hammers, at half the price, with the Vaterra model being $300, and this model being about $150. The only thin the Vaterra has as an advantage, is it will bind to my Spectrum DX4 transmitter.

    • @FanatikBuilds
      @FanatikBuilds  7 лет назад

      I believe the Twin Hammers is 1/10 scale, and this is only 1/12... so not sure if the parts are interchangeable, however the build style and design is definitely extremely similar!

    Final answer, NO. BUT WITH A COMPLETE OVERALL, metal parts, more power, speed. Yes. Reason. Current style just has POTENTIAL. REASON. After running a Armma Senton 6S that WLtoy got parked permanently. Cant really compare solid hobby grade to intro hobby grade, but the buggy has so much potential to be upgraded correctly by WLToys

      Yes, the transmitter came with the car. I believe there are two different types of transmitters that can come with this... if yours is different, you may just have a different version. Hope that helps!

    You have charger with eu/us plug.... the car is 10/10 price-quality! It's better than any traxxas! It's unbreakable. I was testing the car throwing down from top of the house, maximum speed into wall.... you can't brake. It works perfectly after 1year. I think your video is not correct, your ratings are too low, do tests, internet searches.... after give critics...

    Part 2?

    • @FanatikBuilds
      @FanatikBuilds  3 года назад +1

      You're the first person to actually ask about part 2! Had it up shortly after this was posted, but there was a line of script where I said "ideal for kids" ... So with the new RUclips rules I took it down to be on the safe side. On the whole, it's a great little car but had battery issues likely related to an overheat protection. It'll be running full tilt, then just stop. Leave it for a while and it'll be fine again. Great little car that could be upgraded with proper RC grade components, but out of the box it's only what I'd call "entry level hobby grade".👍

    • @Greatgadgetsgear
      @Greatgadgetsgear 3 года назад

      Yup agreed I have one. Just wanted to see the 3s run others have done it successfully. Maybe it’s battery choice and c rating? Thanks
