Hi, I would recommend you to raise your working table with plastic bed raisers so you don’t have to bend so much... you can find them at Walmart 😊. Thanks for sharing your beautiful work💖
Did you use a stretch stitch when you sewed this blanket or was it a regular straight stitch? How many inches in do you place the baby name from the corner?
Hi Margarita! I bought this font off Etsy. I believe the shop was called Rivermill Embroidery. I downloaded the font to my computer and used the embrilliance embroidery software to put the text together. Then I saved it to my USB and plugged the usb into my pe800 and it was ready to go ☺️ I hope that helps!
Did you use a Stretch needle & what size when sewing both blankets together before turning inside our? Then did you use again another stretch needle for Top Stitching ? Or what type & size needle? How far from the edge did you Top Stitch? I'm making this for the 1st time & really need to know thankyou so much
Hi Kim! No I did not use a stretch needle for either. I just used a regular 75/11. On all my blankets I use a 1/2" seam allowance. When I do a top stitch, I don't really have an exact measurement from the edge, I just keep it close to the edge and go slow so I don't run off the edge. Have fun on your first blanket! Maybe my sew along video will help! ruclips.net/video/kPg9_28v3aA/видео.html
hi I'm new to this i have a pe770, you have nice fancy writing how do i get nice writing, not the plain wrritin already set into my machine, do you use embrillance ?
Hi Kayla, All you did was topstitch the blanket? You didn't have to kind of quilt it? So, if I make a blanket like this I only have to topstitch it to finish it and it will stay together when it's washed? I loved how it came out.
Hi Benita! I didn't only top stitch. I put right sides together and stitched all the way around with a 1/2 inch seam allowance, leaving about a 5 inch opening to turn the blanket right side out. Then i did my top stitch. Hope that helps!
@@KaylaKrische I’m sorry, yes I saw how you sewed it prior to topstitching, I mistyped Lol. I was under the impression that I needed to kind of quilt a blanket down along with topstitching around the blanket in order that it doesn’t separate during a wash. Am I mistaken and only need to topstitching once the blanket is sewn and flipped inside out? I’m trying to learn.
@@benitaanderson5299 that's okay! I'm sure some people do that. I know others will sometimes do a fun zig zag stitch or another decorative stitch to top stitch, but I've personally never had any problems with it coming out in the wash with just a straight too stitch 🙂
Hi Kayla, One more question, almost done!! You said at the end, the video didnt show the stitch around the blanket edge to finish it!... did you pin it before stitching that edge? besides the opening....thanks! Shirley. (just need to get this in mail, my grandbaby comes next week!) Thanks for the video!!
Hey Melody! Here is the 52 inch one I have. They have bigger ones if you want a bigger work space, and even a smaller 46 inch one. www.homedepot.com/p/Husky-52-in-Adjustable-Height-Work-Table-with-2-Drawers-in-White-HOLT5202BJ2/311742117
Hi Shirley! I use the purple can of Spray N Bond Basting Adhesive from Wal Mart. My hoop actually has quite a bit on minky on it and I REALLY need to clean it off lol. I'm going to try soaking in hot and soapy water and if that doesn't work then I will try Goo Gone.
Hello Kayla Im basically making this same blanket, (loved yours) I’m using the Solvy water soluble stabilizer, light weight. do you use anything to keep it in place? or do you just lay it on top of your material before you’re ready to embroider? Thanks Shirley
I love your pinning method!
Thanks! That sucker isn't going anywhere haha! I also forgot to mention in the video that I use a walking foot too.

What color bobbin thread do you use for the minky blankets? The same color as the top thread, white, or the same as the blanket?
I use white for the top and bottom most of the time! If it's a darker colored blanket then I will wind a bobbin to match whatever top thread I pick.
Thanks a lot
What font is this? It’s so pretty!
The font is called Farmhouse. I got it on Etsy. I *think* I got it from Rivermill Embroidery
What kind of minky fabric is that? Can you please link that minky fabric?
Yes! I'm so sorry I didn't put it in the description before. I just updated it with a link to the Etsy shop I purchased from :)

Hi Shirley! I just lay it on top! I've seen others use regular scotch tape to keep it in place, but I haven't found it necessary.
@@KaylaKrische thanks!!

75/11 🙃

What’s the size of the font that you use?
It depends on the size blanket I'm making but usually a 1.5" or 2" font :)
this one is nice it looks a lot less than a pillow case, a lot of these blankets look like pillo0w cases
