I remember when you did your video of you wondering if you should keep going or give up with your Etsy shop. I prayed you find the answer. I’m SO happy for you and how you have stayed strong and did the changes you needed to boost your business. Would be interesting to hear how you handle your business growing AND homeschooling your kiddos AND still keeping your sanity and taking care of yourself. Maybe another video idea?! Congrats Kayla.
This is the first time finding your videos. I really appreciate your advice. I have been trying to start a business but it is so hard. I am just getting ready to sell embroidery thread because I have found how much I live the embroidery. I have a ricoma EM 1010 and live it now
I’m was born in Winnemucca, Nevada. We moved to Elko, went to school until 8th grade. I still have relatives living in Reno, Silver Springs. I miss the snow too! Living in Texas now. It’s great to see your business grow. Good luck!!! You give me inspiration. Find your niche and the possibilities are endless!!!
Thank you for this video, I have started my site a little over a month ago but I haven’t gotten any sales 😢. I am staying positive and trying to refocus what I want to sell. I have actually been trying to get company’s to hire me for the same thing you have done. Thank you again.
Congratulation Kayla, Im so happy for you , just to let you know I learn how to make the Minky blankets watching your videos, so you are very important in this community, God continue blessing you and everything you do.
Thank you for sharing with us your up and down moment with your business. Glad you never gave up, and implemented more ideas for your business.🥳🥳 Congrats on the 4K in sales🥳🥳
Kayla, I am so happy that things are going great for you and your business. I hope one day I will be the same way, doing business in my community. Great job!
Thank you for sharing this video. My business is slow. I spent more money on hoops etc. You have given me some ideas and the process you came home with. I can't afford to go to a Summit now, I do dream of going.
Congratulations Kayla! So happy your business is growing in the direction you desired. It just takes getting your name out there and having prior clients give referrals. Local business is the best as you usually gain repeat orders. Small steps, focus and determination go along way
So so happy for you and the change in everything! I remember your video of thinking you were shutting down etsy. And to see this video is exciting. What a great blessing.
Your passion and drive truly motivates me!! So thank you for that! And congrats!! I hope you continue to grow!! And I’ll be here celebrating every goal you make!! 🙌🏼🎉
Thank you so much for sharing. I’m so happy for you!!! Im hoping to make it to Deco Summit next year. You have inspired me to kick start myself and stop thinking about giving up. Thank you so much!!! I love your videos and look forward to your upcoming ones.
So happy you found a way to turn things around! Looking forward to the next videos and wishing you MUCH success. Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family!
Congratulations Kayla this is awesome, I see a 2 head and 4 head embroidery machine in your future, you are going to have so much business locally just by word of mouth. Next year I’m already planning to attend Decco Summit, I’ve have been all over the place, overthinking things trying to figure out my small business, but I do love the embroidery. Wishing you SUCCESS in your business. 👏👏👏👍👍😊
I’m so glad you made this video I need to get my name out there. I’ve struggled for a year on how to get my name out there. I have a full time job which leaves me little time to put into my business. But I really need to get it going. I need to make a you tube channel too. My Etsy shop is stagnant too. I’m glad you made this it’s encouraging. Thank you!
Great focus and goals. Yes, I believe in sell local. I enjoy your vlogs but I’m mainly interested in the embroidery side of your business. As for my business, it has been a slow process but that’s what works for me since I work M-F and can only do a little at a time.
Thank you so much for your vlogs! I just came across yours recently and have watched several. This one was very helpful! I just purchased the same embroidery machine and told my husband my goal is to make enough to pay for my supplies & machine & hopefully a little more. I agree with starting local & word of mouth. I work for a Christian Youth Camp & will start by doing some of our merch. I’m hoping to get with some other local camps and see about doing some of theirs as well. This was encouraging knowing I’m on the right track. Keep up the good work & you’ll be in need of another machine in no time :)
I’m so grateful for you sharing this video… As I just purchase my first embroidery machine from Ricoma… This helped me tremendously as I was feeling a bit overwhelmed… Thank you for sharing your story, You are indeed an inspiration… I pray you have much success… Diana Sealey
Congratulations!!!! I love your enthusiasm about your business. I was the same way with too many irons in the fire. I’ve settled on embroidery and sewing for my niche. Have yet to start an Etsy, but that’s a goal for next year.
Yay!!! Congratulations…. I can’t wait to see all the videos coming! Maybe this will give me some motivation I’ve been a little discouraged lately, not just because of sales but other things too, and need some encouraging, positive, boost to give me my mojo back!
SOOO excited for you! Ive been rooting for you! I wanted to ask- are these orders all for embroidery? What machine do you use? I have the opposite problem right now which is a good problem to have....but still a problem... eek! I have more orders than I can handle by myself with my single needle machine. I really dont know anything about a multi needle and trying to figure out what I might invest in to make the whole process easier. I suck at hooping still too! Any tips??
Hi Jess! No, not all embroidery. Some were vinyl shirts. I know it's hard to make the jump but if you can then do it! It will make your life so much easier. What do you make the most of? How big of a sewing field do you need? Ricomas are great machines and they all come with training when you purchase. The EM 1010 is great to start with but if I could go back I'd start with the TC1501. It's wayyyy better for hats. But if you don't do hats then that's not an issue. The EM1010 is only $135/month (and with my link you get an extra $100 off). For hooping, it just takes practice! There's also the Mighty Hoop station that helps make it easier! It's pricey, but a worthy add on. It really helps me with pocket logos! I hope this helps! Please let me know if you have any more questions :)
@@KaylaKrische respectfully, you shouldn't do them at all. Violating copyright is never right especially if you are a business. I'm sorry to be blunt, but there is no easy way to say it. Also, credibility and respect is important if you want your business to succeed.🙂
@@SoniaShowalter I appreciate your bluntness and passion about this. I suppose I should've been more descriptive with these Disney shirts. What this particular customer wanted was "This Family Trip Has Got Me Feeling Un Poco Loco" in a bright colored cursive. That's it. Not even the same font from the movie. Didn't have the name Disney anywhere and didn't have any characters. Still would do something like that for someone locally but I wouldn't advertise for them online. I wouldn't do them at craft shows either (I don't do craft shows at all actually). It's a moot point regardless, this customer never ordered. 🤷🏻♀️ It is rare that I get asked for family shirts and doing a saying on a few shirts was no big deal to me.
Passion is fuel. Keep up the great work.

What a nice comment! That’s crazy, no response tho.

I'm glad you found inspiration! Keep going

Keep working at it! Stop in to local businesses with their logo on a hat or a mug and a business card. You never know!
Good stuff Kayla!!! Yes word of mouth is the best... Keep it up!!

do too!

Im so happy for you! Great job stay positive
Congratulations! I live in Florida and I’m just starting an Embroidery business, need some advice on what Embroidery machine to get! Thank so much
Hi Bernice! You're so welcome! Good luck on your machine hunt. I've only used Ricoma so far and have no complaints!
SOOO excited for you! Ive been rooting for you! I wanted to ask- are these orders all for embroidery? What machine do you use? You got this! I'm in the same boat!
Hi Kayla, how many machines do you have and intend to get
So happy for you 😊
Good job. Love your video.
What quick books subscription do you use for your biz?
I’ve had the same experience, get into something and then the market becomes saturated with the same thing.
Are you a digitizer or do you outsource the logos?
I outsource right now. I really want to learn how to digitize myself but I'm just not there yet.
You go girl!
Love this so much!!!! 🎉❤
Thanks Kelly!
The catch: you gotta know people who know people.
That's how I got some of these but that's not always the case :) There's lots of ways to get your name out there.
Local is the way to go, no question! I’d much rather make 30 shirts for a business rather than 1 appliqué shirt for Etsy!
Totally!!!
You sound great, just beware of copyright items, I did hear you say Disney shirts those will take everything you’ve worked for if you are caught.
I know. I would do them for someone locally but I would never advertise for them online.
@@KaylaKrische respectfully, you shouldn't do them at all. Violating copyright is never right especially if you are a business. I'm sorry to be blunt, but there is no easy way to say it. Also, credibility and respect is important if you want your business to succeed.🙂

What’s the name of your business?
It's discouraging when it seems everyone is doing what you are doing.
I agree. That's why I'm loving doing work for local businesses!
I can’t get anyone to be interested in my products
