The only tragedy besides Jason not being able to finish his burger is that when you have a live action fight, the gore without the movie budgets or professional editing (like the nightwing vs daredevil finishing move kinda sucked) is not as great but I still enjoy fighting

@@Yobbyyyy Good on you, lad, but the fact that they went out of their way to find a group that could choreograph, film, and prep a set and costumes makes this one of the more unique fights. I liked that they went with a more live-action feel because these two characters can't produce crazy explosions or catastrophic destruction like most others and they had a bit more space to come up with something more. The Might v Might fight was cool too but I would argue its not their best *animated* fights due to personal preference (I liked Alucard v Dio a lot more).

You are absolutely right. You can argue that Deathbattle doesn't have the constraints of needing to film for an entire season of fights, but the choreography here was far more dynamic and needed way less cutting around to feel impressive compared to many examples from Arrowverse shows.

Okay, but seriously, that scene where Jason was getting horrid PTSD as Bucky was beating him with a crowbar was honestly THE highlight of the fight for me. It was damn chilling.

I haven’t seen much of Red Hood, so I actually found this analysis quite fascinating. This was another Death Battle where my expectations about who would win jumped back and forth from beginning to end.
Watch Batman: Under the Redhood animated movie, it's the BEST and FANTASTIC Batman movie to understand Redhood's character as well as being incredible in of itself.
I love it when the expectations jump back and forth, altough the Ep with Pokemon vs Street Fighter is one of the bests... Even when the expectations were very one sided and the beginning/end were spectacularly fast.

Depending on the type of wood and ammo it is possible. Hollowpoint bullets (which are quite common) aren't made for penetration, they're made for damaging a target's internal organs. And tables are often made a sturdier wood and some have metal or other solid materials making up the top or base for extra strength.

I don't care who win but their explanation is lacking even I could have more solid argument with the evidence they provided. They should have included how Bucky shattered the cosmic cube. That thing can handle a beating from a normal hulk. It might be weaken but it is still quite durable. Bucky also survived a bomb near him. The shockwave alone would enough to kill him but there is also the terminal velocity and surviving in a cold temperature without any serum as an endurance feat. They even forgot to add that the people who taught the Winter Soldier also trained the Black Widow added to his resume of participating in an actual war.

I like how Bucky hitting him with the crowbar sparked Jason’s ptsd. Also, I almost thought the fight was going to end with a twist because of how anticlimactic that death was.
Edit: Just so people know, I love the death battle but the ending was so out of nowhere and that helped with the music randomly picking up and Bucky turning around had me think there was going to be more at the end.

@@NekoinaBox2000 Not really because it wasn't the crowbar that did him in, Jason then used the Venom to kick Bucky around for a bit before Bucky's metal arm turned the tables fair and square. Using what happened in the fight - which has been stated to be nothing more than entertainment that has nothing to do with the research and/or verdict - to argue why the loser should win is silly.
My friend and I used to watch Death Battle in high school during our senior year forensics class when we finished early. Shared the earbud and everything. We brainstormed ideas for matchups and he wrote them down so he could remember to flood comment sections with them so they might get noticed.
He died a year after we graduated, in a hit and run accident. I hadn’t seen him in a long time before that, life just kinda separates you after you graduate. I just hope he’d be happy to know that Winter Soldier vs Red Hood, a fight we thought of in class just over 5 years ago, actually got made.

I have to give this it’s credit, Red’s suit was on point and the fight choreography was amazing. I was apprehensive when I saw it was live but my god it exceeded my expectations.

This obviously wouldn't work for every death battle, but I have to say, that fight scene was phenomenal. The choreography, cinematography, and costumes were arguably beyond professional. I'd love to see more of this style in the future.

Yeah they should probably do this with every street level super hero fights they have. Other fights with OP hero’s they would need crazy CGI, which would take months to make.

There were a few things on Red Hood that weren't mentioned. I don't know too much about Bucky so it's possible he still could have won, but I feel like Jason was shorted. By this I mean they mentioned who Bucky could toe-to-toe with but not who Jason can fight. Jason's greatest weaknesses are his emotion and trauma and so it is sometimes debated how he would fight Batman if he wasn't emotionally compromised while doing so. Not to mention he did (slightly unfairly) defeat Lady Shiva and all the teachers that Talia sent him to train with. It was also not mentioned how the Lazarus Pit increased him physically and helped him heal faster. There are a few other things I can think of but this comment is long enough as it is.

Just because he injected venom means that he loses all of his speed, movement, intelligence, etc. it’s an enhancement buff not speed and durability nerf. Love the fighting but throughout the entire fight Jason had one more variety in how he could win against the winter solider.

Haven’t seen too many people talk about how Jason got geared up using stealth tactics to randomly vanish and appear. Bruce’s training clearly paid off.

Why didn’t Jason use his helmet as an explosive? And Bane’s toxin should’ve prevented him from dying like that. Either way, still an awesome fight.
Bucky delt with worse and bane drug effects his mussels not the bones with that little amount and batman beated bane OUT COLD and he had the fully venom stash so why can't bucky crush his skull....
@@MajinMuu Jason has also dealt with worse than Bucky. As Stan Lee put it, its all in who the writers want to win. While the venom wouldn't have been a game changer, it also was evidence how poorly they handled Red Hood and skewed data in Bucky's favor. For example he isn't addicted to venom, that was only used as a plot device in a few issued several years ago. Also the helmet is much more durable than they show and likely would hold up under Bucky's grip. The knife cutting it was taken out of context like they love to say the Supergirl feat was, in that the assassin was a Talon from the Court of Owls, meaning superhuman strength and speed as well as a significantly better knife that Jason himself even commented on how it shouldn't have damaged his helmet and he upgraded afterwards to make it even more durable. That combined with the dozens of gadgets he carries at all times that were surprisingly absent and the complete misunderstanding of the All Blade means that their research stopped around 2015 and missed nearly everything since then

He even used a crowbar as his main weapon for a period of time and while he definitely isn't in a perfect state mentally he has been able to control himself and after an event where he sacrificed all his memories he was able to overcome all of his trauma for the most part

I have to agree. Considering this was nowhere near a film fight scene budget (just the fight scene), the cinematography, choreographing, costumes, set design, acting, fx and sfx, and even the color grade are all on point. If this were to have been a movie with a Hollywood budget, it would've outright been better than MANY we get nowadays lol. At least, all the fight scenes would've been great.
For real, Bucky, you could've at least let the man have his burger before killing him.
I'm a little disappointed that the Fast Food didn't come into play, like in Birds of Pery with Harley's Sandwich.

98% agree. Loved everything but the outcome, and the PTSD moment for Jason. The moment itself, while cool, is outdated and not valid with his character anymore.

I don't care who win but their explanation is lacking even I could have more solid argument with the evidence they provided. They should have included how Bucky shattered the cosmic cube. That thing can handle a beating from a normal hulk. It might be weaken but it is still quite durable. Bucky also survived a bomb near him. The shockwave alone would enough to kill him but there is also the terminal velocity and surviving in a cold temperature as an endurance feat. They even forgot to add that the people who taught the Winter Soldier also trained the Black Widow added to his resume of participating in an actual war.
