After the Golden Land ended and Aurora ceded authorship to Ange, Aurora has no other project. Since she's bored, she decided to take the fanfic on the forum and make it into a brand new novel, but she doesn't want the story to be the same. So we got Gou.

This kinda bothers me. I expected Satoko to show a tad more empathy here. Like what the hell? Who looks at their best friends century long suffering and just goes "WELP I know how I'mma break em now~!" like... I'll watch the remaining episodes but I think this just killed this for me. This was pretty interesting till now at least but now I feel really cheated.
Yeah, this is the episode that made me really dislike Satoko. How can she not react at all seeing her brother? Why keep this all going when she now knows how much Rika suffered? Satoko feels a bit unredeemable to me now

On the first hand, i love how satoko became a turning point on Higurashi GOU, but on the other hand, i just dont recognise satoko from the Higurashi main serie. It’s like... a development that not suit satoko this good (its just my opinion of course ;). Mentally she is probably around a hundred now and has suffered and remembers the suffering. It's hard to see this happen to her. She already gets enough hate, I feel even Takano was given a more sympathetic background for her actions.
To me it kind of makes sense. For example, I'm sure Adolf Hitler was once a sweet 10-year old as well. People can change a lot when growing up, especially if you throw dramatic experiences into the mix. The Rika that we all know (mostly from her monologues and discussions with Hanyuu) is also nothing like the mask she wears when playing with friends, yet the mask was her original personality. It's the same with Satoko, she only acts different from the original when monologuing or chatting to Not?Featherine
Featherine is just chillin on her couch and watching another episode of "The Real Housewives of Hinamizawa" and I'm here for it. All of this suffering is practically just entertainment for her which is why I love her so much. Man I love Higurashi Gou it's really breaking a lot of barriers here at least in my opinion anyway. Now I REALLY can't wait to see how this series will even end because I seriously doubt Rika, Satoko or any of the club members will be able to defeat one of the most powerful characters in all of fiction. I want Keiichi to somehow get the ability to loop since a lot of the terrible events surrounding it end up ruining his life and the lives of those he cares about. His goal could be to kill Satoko and Rika in order to end the looping permanently, so he and everyone else will no longer be harmed by their actions. He could act as a neutral character that has good intentions, but acts in a terrible way, which ultimately forces Rika and Satoko to work together so they can stop him.
When the next episode gets released next week its either satoko will loop for 100 years or she's trying to go back in time to stop rika from proceeding her dream. Honestly both are turning into really bad friends. Satoko and Rika are being very selfish. WELL its obvious. I LOVE higurashi!! Edit : I hope this isn't a spoiler ;v;.....SORRY IF I DID 😖

My theory: Eau doesn't just granted powers and authorities to Satoko just for fun but she need to know 'the truth' 'Mechanism of the game board' behind all of this. That's her curiosity. She believes that Satoko can demonstrates how to make the game board from zero and she want to see how Satoko realize the Oyashiro's curse while collecting the details that can be explained in scientific way. In the beginning, Eau created the game board concentrating on 'Event of Hinamizawa that everyone is being killed' but she was unable to explain about this. She can't find the satisfying explanations while losing to her opponent. the one thing is that Eau never knew the reason behind all of this : what exactly is Hinamizawa syndrome ? A curse?

The point is her wound was healed since she became a lover of Battler surviving the incident in Umineko, they both write Umineko together by seeking the truth behind all of this and she tried to reunite Battler with Ange in the end.

I just realized reading Umineko kinda ruins the finale of gou. *spoilers below* - - - - - - Rika wins by bringing herself to kill Satoko with the sword fragment to kill loopers. She suffers a mental break down from it, frees herself from fragments and becomes the depressed, moody, and bored witch Bernkastel in Umineko. Satoko is already lambda at this point..... I’m sad that there is no “happy” ending but the story is soooo 👌🏻
Rika not '' becomes '' Berkanstel, Berkastel is a manifestation of Rika's despair over 100 years of loops, at VN it was said that Bernkastel was born when she lost interest in the worlds, and I don't think Rika will kill Satoko with the sword, but I may be wrong who knows

Even unconfirmed, her identity is noble and it could be the game she was playing through time. I find the point that's the real life Fetherine can't finish her work due to her eccentric personality followed by logic error in the end.
The real reason of this universe exist and why it is very different on the path is because one author get bored of her original series, decide to make new one. hearing the news about it, one of two die hard fans decide to enter the story so she can savour the experience of her lover by herself, eventhough it cost her trapped inside logic error of the story.

Viewing the entirety of shounen jump isn't that big of a feat, given a lot of characters would see things of that scale as fictional by default anyway, especially featherine. Fusing with the audience also makes no sense at all, given that it's impossible, unless it's in the form of "I can edit fiction as fiction" which is still something within featherine's capabilities (rather easily at that), and many other characters. Pretty much anything with high-tier plot manip. Transcending reality and viewing it as fiction is by far the most stupid claim imaginable from a fictional being. A fictional being cannot even have the same authority as a real person, INCLUDING author avatars. An author avatar can still get slapped by the real guy on a whim if they wanted. Viewing the entirety of real life as fiction would make Goku God with a captial G my guy. It makes sense if you consider it a "reality within fiction" though. If it outright states it transcends reality, that holds literally no value and is contradicted by basic logic that fictional characters can't see reality as fiction in a transcendental manner.

I'm starting to have huge problems with this show. This completely destroys Satoko's character from the original series. It makes no sense that she wouldn't try to understand Rika, especially after witnessing whole 100 years of her suffering. .. Even if Satoko ends up becoming Lambdadelta, reasoning for it is not convincing...
I’m still enjoying the series but I do see where you’re coming from, I’ll give Ryukishi some credit, he did have Satoko handle the situation relatively well by having Satoko to exhaust the other options to convince Rika to not go to St. Lucia before jumping off the deep end, and I do understand where Satoko is coming from in regards to her motivation, she has nobody else in the world besides Rika, Her Family is either dead, vegetables, or the scum of the Earth, and her found family is doomed to eventually drift apart, so she has to choose between either being completely alone or be abandoned by the person she cares most about. Yes Satoko is being illogical and unempathetic, but I’ve don’t tend to put a lot of stock into “oh this character is being irrational” as Criticism because people aren’t typically fully rational.

On the first hand, i love how satoko became a turning point on Higurashi GOU, but on the other hand, i just dont recognise satoko from the Higurashi main serie. It’s like... a development that not suit satoko this good (its just my opinion of course ;). Like, the sweet satoko that we knew would have not reacted the same in front of satoshi in my point of view, she would have at least cried...
Mentally she is probably around a hundred now and has suffered and remembers the suffering. It's hard to see this happen to her. She already gets enough hate, I feel even Takano was given a more sympathetic background for her actions.
To me it kind of makes sense. For example, I'm sure Adolf Hitler was once a sweet 10-year old as well. People can change a lot when growing up, especially if you throw dramatic experiences into the mix. The Rika that we all know (mostly from her monologues and discussions with Hanyuu) is also nothing like the mask she wears when playing with friends, yet the mask was her original personality. It's the same with Satoko, she only acts different from the original when monologuing or chatting to Not?Featherine

Featherine is just chillin on her couch and watching another episode of "The Real Housewives of Hinamizawa" and I'm here for it. All of this suffering is practically just entertainment for her which is why I love her so much. Man I love Higurashi Gou it's really breaking a lot of barriers here at least in my opinion anyway. Now I REALLY can't wait to see how this series will even end because I seriously doubt Rika, Satoko or any of the club members will be able to defeat one of the most powerful characters in all of fiction. I want Keiichi to somehow get the ability to loop since a lot of the terrible events surrounding it end up ruining his life and the lives of those he cares about. His goal could be to kill Satoko and Rika in order to end the looping permanently, so he and everyone else will no longer be harmed by their actions. He could act as a neutral character that has good intentions, but acts in a terrible way, which ultimately forces Rika and Satoko to work together so they can stop him.

My theory: Eau doesn't just granted powers and authorities to Satoko just for fun but she need to know 'the truth' 'Mechanism of the game board' behind all of this. That's her curiosity.
She believes that Satoko can demonstrates how to make the game board from zero and she want to see how Satoko realize the Oyashiro's curse while collecting the details that can be explained in scientific way.
In the beginning, Eau created the game board concentrating on 'Event of Hinamizawa that everyone is being killed' but she was unable to explain about this. She can't find the satisfying explanations while losing to her opponent. the one thing is that Eau never knew the reason behind all of this : what exactly is Hinamizawa syndrome ? A curse?

The point is her wound was healed since she became a lover of Battler surviving the incident in Umineko, they both write Umineko together by seeking the truth behind all of this and she tried to reunite Battler with Ange in the end.

@@kyleco9149 However it's just a philosophic word play of trolling Bernkastel, Toya(or Battler) suffered from amnesia and decided to commit suicide, Ikuko or Fetherine herself as I noticed got kind of depression and changes in personalities untill in Umineko, they healed each others by talking, helping him to remember and find purposes of life, however they spent life together at least 10 years if I wasn't wrong.

Rika wins by bringing herself to kill Satoko with the sword fragment to kill loopers. She suffers a mental break down from it, frees herself from fragments and becomes the depressed, moody, and bored witch Bernkastel in Umineko. Satoko is already lambda at this point..... I’m sad that there is no “happy” ending but the story is soooo 👌🏻

Viewing the entirety of shounen jump isn't that big of a feat, given a lot of characters would see things of that scale as fictional by default anyway, especially featherine. Fusing with the audience also makes no sense at all, given that it's impossible, unless it's in the form of "I can edit fiction as fiction" which is still something within featherine's capabilities (rather easily at that), and many other characters. Pretty much anything with high-tier plot manip.
Transcending reality and viewing it as fiction is by far the most stupid claim imaginable from a fictional being. A fictional being cannot even have the same authority as a real person, INCLUDING author avatars. An author avatar can still get slapped by the real guy on a whim if they wanted. Viewing the entirety of real life as fiction would make Goku God with a captial G my guy. It makes sense if you consider it a "reality within fiction" though. If it outright states it transcends reality, that holds literally no value and is contradicted by basic logic that fictional characters can't see reality as fiction in a transcendental manner.

hanyuu doesn't exist anymore, featherine is hanyuu just the complete form, theres a reason why she talks about their horns since its not really a horn but a memory bank thing, broken horn pretty much means corrupted memories and not full powers,which means for featherine can't keep her true self and turns into hanyuu, when its fixed its back to featherine and slowly having her memories back

I'm starting to have huge problems with this show. This completely destroys Satoko's character from the original series. It makes no sense that she wouldn't try to understand Rika, especially after witnessing whole 100 years of her suffering.

I’m still enjoying the series but I do see where you’re coming from, I’ll give Ryukishi some credit, he did have Satoko handle the situation relatively well by having Satoko to exhaust the other options to convince Rika to not go to St. Lucia before jumping off the deep end, and I do understand where Satoko is coming from in regards to her motivation, she has nobody else in the world besides Rika, Her Family is either dead, vegetables, or the scum of the Earth, and her found family is doomed to eventually drift apart, so she has to choose between either being completely alone or be abandoned by the person she cares most about. Yes Satoko is being illogical and unempathetic, but I’ve don’t tend to put a lot of stock into “oh this character is being irrational” as Criticism because people aren’t typically fully rational.
I agree... this really ruins Satoko's character for me and really sours the message of the original... I'll hold onto hope for Gou but with only two episodes left...
