This is what you get when both parents are out working and they have their two year-old and iPhone and a 15 year-old babysitter that doesn’t read or play with a child and parents who are overly worked under no sleep and the delusion that the baby is not going to grow up to be this!
They don't have to give their 2 year old an iPhone. They don't have to hire a babysitter that's inept. Just go back to the days of old when mom stayed home and raised the kids properly and dad just worked himself to an early grave.
No, I’m an old millennial and my husband is a young Gen X. We had the same kind of upbringing. Both parents worked full time, we watched TV and played video games, the oldest sibling would be the “babysitter” regardless of age, even if that age was 10. These kids, if it’s not just an act for TikTok, are the result of something else.

The federal minimum wage is $7.50 an hour in right to work states it’s $2.50 an hour. This is intentionally so that the the nuclear family cannot exist. I’m a great grandmother. I helped raise my grandchildren and my newest great grandson because both parents have to work more than 100 hours a week just to break even at $10 an hour. Inflation is out of control rent, car insurance, car payments, utilities food. We haven’t had a minimum wage increase in over a decade. The US government put out a study showed that in order to have a one bedroom apartment to rent in any state the lowest state in the country you have to make $25 an hour and work 102 hours a week! It’s untenable! Even when parents are letting us grandparents help raise the children!
This is our lost generation, it might be 100 years before we get back to sanity.

@@Matanumi the millennials got to see the very tail end of the good times, that ended because of the actions of the people in the 60's and the 70's in regards to deregulation of the markets, and the defunding of education and community services, in favor of bigger pensions, and higher stock prices.
it took until the late 2000's for the plans set out back in the 60's and 70's fully start showing their effects.
I blame longer life spans, for why millennials aren't already in power, they'd be fixing things by now.

@@blickedxb i think the majority of millennials vote for the lesser of two evils, there are no good choices, all the top political parties that have any actual power are paid for by the same corporations and multi-nationals, and any party worth voting for is only worth voting for until it gets bought by corporations and multi-nationals too.
it doesn't matter who you vote for, big business can fund entire countries, and so can bankrupt entire countries, so we're all at the mercy of big business.

I think these videos are showing what happens when a generation grows up being told they are special and then finding out that they aren't special, their existence is bleak, and their future is hopeless. Kind of a BSOD of cognitive dissonance.
I think 2 processes are happening:
1. A turning inward and rejecting uncomfortable truths that disturb their imaginary world where they are special.
2. Being obnoxious as possible. The "Watch me, watch me" at 12:20 is probably the most important part of these videos. It is VERY hard to ignore an obnoxious person when they're in your face.
I realize these TikToks are intended to be satire. However, there is usually some truth in comedy.

I am a Baby Boomer who had my kids later in life - our daughter is a Millenial and our son is Gen Z. I can get along pretty well with the daughter, but the Gen Z son is so like a lot of the kids in this video! I love him with all my heart but sometimes when he talks to me I just count the time until he leaves the room! It's like sometimes he is from another planet! Lol

Don't blame all of Gen X. Blame the losers in Gen X who didn't raise their children properly. Blame the men that didn't stay in their children's lives. Blame the mothers that just gave their kid a phone at 7 and let them stay in their room for 16 hours a day without seeing what they are up to just so they can lay by the pool and sip drinks with their friends all day.

There seems to be no indication if finding that person is a good or bad thing.
Taking a picture from a slightly higher vantage point (i.e. holding up your phone) actually is flattering because it hides the double chin and makes your face look thinner. I'm horrible with taking selfies, any type of picture really, plus I look like a damn troglodyte so if you catch me in a picture best believe that camera angle is elevated.
