    Its necessary to point out that transgender is an umbrella term for anyone who does not identify as their assigned gender at birth. HRT and a transition is not a requirement to be transgender. Nice video. I just need to make it clear that “nonbinary”, & “genderfluid”, are NOT the same, nor are the terms “interchangeable”.
    NON BINARY is to not personally relate to, or identify as, either of the two binary categories of “man”, or “woman” (or, male/female). A non-binary person may identify their gender as any point along (or, even fully outside of), the gender spectrum, &/or anywhere inbetween, the 2 binary poles. From my understanding, & also being ‘nonbinary transfeminine’, myself, my gender identity/expression is “static”. It is set, & does not change, no matter the circumstance. I believe this is, most often, the case, for Enby’s.
    GENDERFLUID is to have a gender identity, which fluctuates between, at least (but not limited to) two separate gender identities, or alternatively, is in a constant state of “flux”, where the person’s gender identity, & expression, is perpetually changing, based on their whim, the day, the direction of the wind, the barometric pressure, the smell of granny’s fart today, or any other thing they decide will dictate thier gender, in this moment. Genderfluid, is thusly named, specifically, because their gender is NOT “set”, or “static”. It is “fluid”.
    There is some overlap, as there are with many of these types of “labels”, but, yeah… definitely NOT “the same”.
    Thanks, have a great day! 👋😉❤

    • @g4wrr
      @g4wrr Месяц назад +19

      just a little clarification,
      the creator of the video didn't ever say that the terms "nonbinary" and "genderfluid" were the SAME terms. they just brought up how they can be used in conjuction (together / with) each other.
      there are plenty of genderfluid people who also identify as nonbinary because being genderfluid makes you non-binary in the same way non-binary makes you transgender (they're umbrella terms.) HOWEVER just bc ur genderfluid doesnt mean you ALWAYS and MUST also identify as non-binary.
      non-binary, like you said, is not identifying with the two binary categories of "man/male" or "woman/female". genderfluid people, by definition, fall under this non-binary umbrella, but they have the choice to IDENTIFY or NOT IDENTIFY as such.
      same with trans & non-binary. a person who's transgender is someone who doesn't identify with the gender assigned to them at birth.
      there is no "non-binary" sex (other than intersex ppl who are very often surgically assigned to be either male or female soon after birth), meaning that ppl who identify as non-binary are, by definition, transgender ppl.
      again, however, just bc someone is non-binary doesn't mean they ALWAYS or MUST also identify as trans.
      ty for making me think ! have a nice day/night c:

      Thanks for pointing this out. I'm genderfluid and really don't like it when people call me or perceive of me as non-binary. In my mind they are very different things. I know some genderfluid people think of it as 'type' of non-binary but that isn't how all genderfluid people think of it. Everyone's their own person.
      Another term is Bigender, being two genders at the same time, statically, usually male and female. People like this sometimes call themselves Non-binary and sometimes call themselves Genderfluid and that's fine labels are just there to communicate ideas really.
      But I am a genderfluid trans woman. I like being called Genderfluid. I'm fine being called a trans woman 'cause that's usually the case. I do not like being called non-binary because that just doesn't feel like an accurate description of how my gender works. I'm not between the binary or outside of it.

    Gender Euphoria and Dysphoria isn’t just about the body. It can be a neurological thing too for example calling a transfemme one of the girlies with likely give her euphoria even though it isn’t exactly body related

    • @Jesswithponies
      @Jesswithponies 13 дней назад

      Gender dysphoria/euphoria has a few categories:
      - body - how your body relates to your gender
      - social - how you're perceived/treated socially based on gender
      - mind - how you perceive your reactions, emotions and thoughts in relation to your gender (eg. Doubting if you are actually (insert gender) accidentally misgendering yourself, feeling too manly/feminine, etc)

    There are fem presenting transmasc people and vice versa for transfems who look masculine. The term transmasc means an AFAB person transitioning to a more masculine/ less feminine gender identity, but that doesn’t necessarily affect their gender presentation. It includes non binary people and trans men. My best friend is a trans masc who doesn’t want to medically transition and wears exclusively feminine outfits, makeup, nails, etc. but uses they/them and prefers masculine descriptors (“handsome” over pretty, or masculine terms like uncle or nephew).

    One thing I like to note- at least as far as I am aware, transgender means changing the gender identity to one outside of that which you were raised as. This definition focuses on the fact that gender is based on the society one is raised in rather than the birth sex. This also clarifies a few grey areas, such as cisgender women born intersex.

    • @scarlethart7745
      @scarlethart7745 Месяц назад +3

      @firetube8288 no, but trans people are different because they were raised as one gender and then grow up and move, or transition, to a different gender that more accurately represents who we are. I could have made that clearer.
      The purpose of this definition is to focus on the fact that it is social and not rooted in biology, as gender is a purely social concept. As stated above, this clarifies things surrounding the intersex community rather than boxing in all intersex people in with the trans community without them identifying as such.
      A trans woman was raised to be a man but recognized the incongruence between this and her internal identity of self. She then transitions socially and perhaps medically to match the external self to her internal identity.
      An intersex person may have been raised as a man, and that fits his identity of self. This isn't a trans person. While the definition of transgender as defined in the video would box him in with the trans community, he likely doesn't feel the term fits. He is an intersex man, not a trans man.
      An intersex person raised to be a man, but later feels this doesn't fit their gender identity. They are non-binary. This is a trans person. The definition in the video would make them technically a cis person since their sex is also not in the binary, but the definition I set out clarifies that this person is still very reasonable in their identifying as transgender.
      Being transgender is not about the person's sex, it's about their upbringing. In a theoretical world where kids weren't raised under the boxes of boy and girl, the concept of being transgender simply wouldn't make sense, as there aren't genders to transition to or from.

      @firetube8288 Месяц назад +1

      @@scarlethart7745 you lost me at the last paragraph, if I was raised as an undefined creature I'd still be trans, on account of the fact that my body doesnt match my gender identity

    • @scarlethart7745
      @scarlethart7745 Месяц назад +1

      @firetube8288 as stated before, gender is a social construct. It's not based on your sex. It's based on upbringing and expectations, which are associated with that sex. In a world with one group- human, there is no man or woman, no societal expectations of a gender. If all people are actually treated the same way, what are you transitioning to? It would be purely cosmetic at that point. You just have an idealized body, so does the person getting a breast augmentation or botox. It's just making your ideal body real.
      To say you would still be trans is to not understand the hypothetical. If there is no gender, and you just are who you are, you can't be trans. It's not a concept here. If there is no gender you can't transition into or out of any gender.

    I think it might be easier to understand when you say that:
    trans is a term for someone who doesn't identify with the gender that was assigned to them at birth (for example they were born as a girl but don't feel like a girl).
    It's an umbrella term for trans binary people (umbrella term for trans women and trans men)
    and trans nonbinary people (umbrella term for genderfluid, agender and more)

  • @mangagirlyt1076
    @mangagirlyt1076 Месяц назад +1

    I'm pretty sure I'm genderfluid like I don't care if people call me a him/her or her/she or they/them as long as their not being a dick to me. Like I mostly prefer female but I'm tomboy-ish and will take whatever pronouns as mentioned as long as the person isn't being a piece of shit to me lmao.

    soo no. transfem and transmasc does not mean you're trans and present as more feminine or masculine. It just describes trans people who are connected to masculinity or femininity in any way! Example, a non-binary person might feel some kind of connection to masculinity, and call themself transmasc. You can be any gender and be transfem or transmasc (excluding genders with definitions that completely exclude that , like genderfaun. u can't be transfem if you're genderfaun, you can present feminine! but it's not the same thing.). You could even be a girl, but still feel some kind of masculinity having to do with your gender- and be transmasc :]

What if they're lesbians I have in transitioned at all in my opinion (besides from name and gender pronouns change) for some reason I often end up getting attracted to lesbians and I'm not pretty sure if they would like me 😔.
