Maybe one day DK and Lukie can merge into Dukie games and live up to their reputation.
And the new shipping company well be fedup shipping company
pronounced "Dookie games"
👏👏👏👏👏😂
This is the funniest thing in a while LOL
@@bitwise7924bro stole my idea😭
Lukie games sold me a GameCube that broke within a year and it turns out it was full of dead roaches and excrement…
They used to work for a data recovery company... Roaches checks out. The number of computers we would get in that were full of roaches, I don't understand how people are able to live so grossly
Wtf, that's disgusting 🤮
@@TechX1320I know people like that and I don't know how they live like that either. I know some really nasty people, the ones had roaches so bad when they set of bug foggers all thier neighbors got roaches, another one has the worst personal hygiene I've ever seen and only showers once or twice a month if that. It's bad he is in his mid 30s and his step mother has to clean his room and take his dishes downstairs, I'll spare the details but its beyond ridiculous.
@@samsaverino8159 I think most of similar systems were stored in like sheds and stuff and not in the kind of peoples homes like you describe. At least I hope so 😅
Is that their fault? Seems like your place is full of roaches. Because that stuff would stop working quicker.. than 1 year.
Pokemon games are already overvalued for how much they sold, but $260 is almost triple the already overpriced cost
Just mod ur Nintendo ds. I did to my xl. U just need a sd card reader. U can get every game. U can also emulate game boy games.
@@JohnSmith-hv6ks my dad had a teachers salary when I was growing up, so I'm already well aquatinted with modding and r4 cards etc lmao. i think the only console I have that isn't modded in some form is probably my PS4, well and my Gameboy pocket. but sometimes it's just nice to have the original games and hardware (plus in the case of like, SoulSilver, you can't get the full experience without the og cartridge and the pokewalker etc)
And yet that price was still about right for a CIB copy of the game. Mind you it was triple the price of what a loose cart would cost on most sites and I bet that is what they would end up shipping you.
@@Wabajck speaking of scams... CIB is way too big a risk for how much that goes for. You can spot a fake cartridge by looking at the board. Boxes and manuals are much harder to verify and when the box alone sells for like 150-200 I would never take that risk, reprints are just so common nowadays.
@@JohnSmith-hv6ksThe thing with people is collecting now. Emulation is amazing right now, but people just want to collect the games just to look at them. Sad era we are in at the moment.
The Transfer Pak does not work on 3rd party Controllers, you need an official controller for the transfer pak to work. Its one of the only add ons that needs official hardware
wasnt that red controller
one of the official controllers?
grey was originals, but they released
a few colors *officially* a while later.
which that one looks like it would be.
iirc, without the expansion pack,
the transfer pak wouldnt work?
its been along time since i played n64 tho.
@@Kraxt0n no. the red controller was missing the nintendo logo confirming it is not official
@@sewdclass10 i see it now, had to go back and look. looked like it did the first time around. since the outline is there. but, im still pretty sure it needed the expansion pack. my cousin had this, and begged for mine back in the day since he wanted to pull certain mon over from his gameboy save file.
@@Kraxt0n no you can use the Jumper Pak and it will work just fine all the Expansion Pak really does is double ram and boost resolution on a couple games. Stadium 2, Rogue Squadron, Pro Skater 2, and Star Wars Ep. 1 Racer were just graphically enhanced due to Expansion Pak while Space Station Silicon Valley would crash at the intro. Only 2 and a half games need to fully use the Expansion Pak in the US: Majora's Mask, DK 64 and the Not So Perfect Edition of Perfect Dark hence why I said 2 and a half games.
In Japan however it is required to run the N64 Disk Drive and their games, an Everdrive can bypass the need for the Disk Drive itself to an extent.
@@Silverfox365 DK 64 is indeed why it came into my collection. either way, its been along time since ive messed with an N64. so i was speaking on what i thought.
Lukie tagline: "A fool and his money are soon parted."
Good quote in general. Pretty much describes the entirety of the crypto boom too.
at least from ebay you can see the condition of the consoles you buy yourself, as opposed to trusting these companies showing you a random image. Granted, I've had 2 occurrences on ebay where the sellers switched game discs on me (the disc I received differed from their product listing) so.. buying used products online in general is a risky venture 💀
I mean, I've been buying off of them for 10ish years. Almost never had any issue.
"we're doing our best not to be found out, like using a credit card with my name on it, using a pseudonym that's extremely identifiable, and also having half the order shipped to our other employee whose name is also known"
i'm starting to think y'all need to rethink your anonymity strategies here
they half-ass their way through all of the reviews
@@Sword8808 that's wild
Unless they go through some service to make a temp card number there is only so much they can do to hide their identity with the credit card.
As for Ken maybe he also has a different pseudonym he uses ( they didn't zoom in enough to see if it was actually under Ken's name or not lol).
@@TheCommanderTaco I mean, they could load up one of those generic Visa cards. I imagine gift cards and/or PayPal are also options.
I dunno, I just feel like they could have done like, anything else. With their current standard, they might as well just wear a balaclava while ordering, it's just as effective.
Meanwhile lukie games: who is this order for oh just a regular customer cool.
I highly doubt they are gonna look at your name and be like oh noooooo it’s that one RUclipsr
you know you bout to get the best quality stuff from a company called. "Lukie Games" 💀
Yeah, Lukie you got your games lol
their putting bad on my name! My name is Lukie, it's not pronounced "lucky" though it's luke-e
Okay
Ive bought so many games from Lukie games and they always come in grest condition, never ever had a problem with them.
Thank you, fuuuuuuck, I have practically my whole collection from lukie and absolutely love everything, the only thing I've returned were games I didn't like the story to
Not a very popular game? My ass, that game's servers only recently went down.
I legitimately ONLY played that game for the longest time. Well after the new Battlefield games. Like, give me a tank and let me destroy buildings! I almost cried when these servers went down....especially since my internet went down the last weeks of the server activity.
Surprising how little "tech" people know about games that aren't pokemon related lol
@@StillthatguyJake I originally played it on the 360 when it first came out and then moved to the pc later on. Such a good game and so many fun memories with friends. I remember covering a fourwheeler with c4 and making kamikaze runs into enemy tanks. Not to mention the satisfying long distance shots while leading and compensating for bullet drop . Man, absolute perfection. I hope they make BC3 and don't screw it up.
@@calypsoraz4318 Yup...perfection indeed! It was, aside from playing Halo with a friend, the first FPS I ever played online multiplayer on. Definitely looking forward to something similar in the future.
Calling them worse than dkoldies is going too far imo. Pricing aside, At least everything you purchased worked. Half the stuff from dkoldies doesn’t even function properly
So you buying a old ds for 200
@@billmartinez4245 "pricing aside" and also why not if you really want a ds in great condition? At least they're not sending our bad items.
they didnt even crack them open and seems like they might have used accounts that marked them as a youtube channel. when checking to see what companies like dkoldies or this lukie do, ive seen proper test youtubers will use accounts of friends with no association to them to get the most authentic experience of what the website is offering.
because the minute those companies see they are getting a youtuber order they give the best they possibly can because they know it will be shown on the internet and use the youtuber as an unsuspecting patsy to further their bullshit.
and the pricing is the biggest issue. i would only pay 200 for a nintendo ds if i was getting sealed nib, not loose.
@@billmartinez4245 nope but dkoldies prices are a rip off too, and half the time are defective. I wouldn’t buy from either of them obviously, but at least this stuff actually worked
@@wakcedout At this point, I'd just emulate. Old tech is getting beat up day by day. Unless you're a collector or you need an old hackable home console for random family game sessions because Tekken hunger could strike at any time, you don't need to buy old consoles for any reason.
FYI (and I am sure someone else probably mentioned this already), the top loader NES originally came with dogbone controllers that look more like SNES controllers and are significantly less common than the original NES controllers you received with your unit. As a collector, I'd be furious if I ordered a top loader and did not get the top loaded controllers with it.
On a more realistic note, being cautious vs being furious would be most collectors if they were looking for a specific thing. For instance, calling someone at luckie to confirm that the top-loader would come with the dogbone controllers. You could then move in to furious territory if they confirmed then didn't deliver.
Interestingly, Lukie Games actually won an ebay auction of mine for a couple of SNES games. I imagine the games are going to show up at their next owner's in the same condition I had them.
Over the past couple of months, I've amassed a small collection of 70 or so NES games from various sources: Gamestop, Lukie Games, eStarland and various eBay sellers.
2 of the 4 I got from Lukie Games were the only 2 of the entire 70 that gave me so many problems (on both my top loader NES and front-loader with a brand new 72-pin) that I nearly gave up on them before finally getting them to work after like a dozen re-inserts and multiple cleanings.
Gamestop has been surprisingly solid when a game you're looking for is actually in-stock, and eStarland was by far the most reliable.
That's my story.
That transfer pak probably didn’t work because of that third party controller
I am pretty sure their website dynamically adjusts the prices to get the max possible. So if something goes unsold for X time they decrease till it sells and if its popular they increase it until it stops selling and then drop it back down.
That's how most do it
You just described supply and demand lol
@@jacobkezerle6957 at a high level yeah but this goes beyond that.
The name is legit spelled as if it's pronounced "Luke-y" games.
That's what I was thinking! Thanks
Exactly what I was thinking when he mispronounced lol
Same here. I swear at the VERY beginning he called it LUKE-Y and then proceeded to say LUCKY the remainder of the video.
Thank you
@@TekMissileGamingFreudian slip of him hoping to get lucky with his purchases perhaps lol.
you know why the price jumped up right? they are probably using a "dynamic system" depending on if one sold recently and current inventory it is set to up the price and "decay" back down to there minimum. (or they are even more specific to users identified profile to make them feel like they got a better deal and/or get more out of future sales)
When eBay actually looks like the better option.
ebay has always been the better option
@galadriusthemighty @Luvequalsrage but Lukie do the bay too I've had a Sega Sports Dreamcast and some game from them ages ago, still perfect and I don't unhook nor store any system
@@mistamontiel00 the point is that why take a gamble, cut out the middle man for a better price and get a better idea of the condition.
Ebay has full scams, so I’m looking for tested and working great.
@@martin.aguilar.a ebay sides with the buyer 99% of the time if it is a scam. I been buying from ebay for a while and never had issues.
Japan is like the last place they have reasonable prices for retro games, because they know this stuff isn't rare at all. Like Nintendo DS is one of the most popular handheld ever.
Yeah i got a lot of 4 unit of DS for really cheap just cause they were beaters in need of replacement screens and housings. Was able to get 2 of them back into working order just by swaping parts that were in the lot (ribbon cables, screens (since both top and bottoms are the same on that model) and buttons )
It's just the US that has these crazy prices. Here in Europe you can get the first gen DS for 20 to 30 Euros in decent condition and for around 40 Euros complete in box. Most DS games are under 10 Euros complete. The PS3 Superslim is probably worth around 50 to 60 Euros, the Xbox 360 30 to 40 Euros. During the pandemic prices rose extremely, but they've come down a lot since then, atleast for standard stuff.
@@MyRegardsToTheDodo original pokemon games here go for 200-300 in full box in good condition. i am talking about pokemon red/blue/yellow
@@ChrisWijtmans Full box, yes. Those paper boxes are actually quite rare to come by, so if you want a full boxed copy you have to pay for that.
Honestly I’ve bought games from them for years. Only bought one console but it was a ds lite that came in good condition and was only like 60 bucks and I’ve never had any issues with them. The console prices are high, but the game prices are good compared to eBay for most games
Same I've bought like 50+ PS2 games from them and they all came in immaculate condition
Though I wouldn't expect less considering they have the most expensive disc resurfacer on the market
I've also bought a few GBC and DS games from them didn't have any issues with them either, labels and cartridges were in good condition
Back to the PS2 games I'd also like to point out every single game came complete with all the original paperwork and or additional disc's including demo disc's and promotional boxes
I was right there with him dancing to the Pokémon Stadium music. It brings me back 20+ years baby!
You guys need to be opening these up all the way, checking for dust caked on the heat sinks, seeing if they have fresh thermal paste etc. seeing if they run is only half the story.
If they aren’t advertised as refurbished why would they do that
I bought a "cosmetically flawed" GBA SP from Lukie games for $60 during their Christmas sale and it was literally perfect lol i don't see why they even have "grades"
With the super slim PS3 here it looks like someone dropped soda next to the console and it got inside. Not enough to damage the circuit board thanks to the EMI shields but it looks like just enough for rust to start thanks to the acids in the soda(remember Coke can cause rust as well be used to remove rust) and give bacteria a food source to develop thanks to the sugar.
I am unsure but didn't the toploader NES come with the Dog bone controllers and not the normal? Been a hot minute since i have seen one but i thought they did.
Yes they did, so not original controllers.
You are correct. This system definitely didn’t come with the correct controllers.
Wait, was that Super Slim a 160GB? That wasn't an option for that model.
it's probably 12GB one with 160GB hdd.
15:15 calling that the 'old school' interface and not the blade 💀
I'm not sure austin is old enough to remember the blades dashboard
He did in fact reference and showed the blade interface briefly at 15:24 and said he liked that one a lot better...as did i...although, he basically created a brick for himself since he doesn't want to update it.😄
11:20 that’s a nostalgia mode activated moment right there
Lucky Games 🤔
Lukie Games ✅
You know that there is a button to open the tray on the ps3 right on the left to center side of the console
I remember shopping with them years ago, and had no issues with them.
I bought a PS2 and a few games and accessories for a great price
Yeah. I've gotten a fair amount of PS2 games from them and never had any issue. Pricing wasn't really an issue either, but I wasn't really looking for anything that might be on the more expensive side of things. That said, I also got a PS2 and some games from DKOldies and they're all in pretty good condition as well so I might just have had good luck so far. lol
Fun video, but can we keep the background music at one (low) level please?
having a warranty is meaningless if they dont uphold it and put enough red tape loopholes in it that let them wiggle out of honoring it.
i would suggest read their warranty terms first before thinking its good. because just reading "oh they offer X year warranty" will not be enough if you havent read the terms.
Please open them and see if they're clean or not
Lukie Games did not like being put on the spot. I remember in 2023 when they tried to attack the Sony PlayStation 1 Sanctuary & Museum when they were exclusively on Facebook, but now are back on RUclips, but the creator, Jimmy had done a pure unboxing and Lukie got caught in a lie about a game that never even came out for the PS1 in North America and he debunked they were trying to sell fake stuff or stuff that wasnt even the item. I have heard a ton of horror stories about Lukie and wish they were out of business.
11:21 😂the dance
I’ve ordered and they have okay prices but never got a console only games when my local store is out of what I need
I once got a psp from them in acceptable condition and it looked near damn new I was like hmmm ok I guess this is acceptable lol but I’ve never had an issue whatsoever with them. I think we just live in an age of People wanting to complain all the time. It’s your money why would you instantly buy something you want if it’s high priced do some searching and find one at a good price that’s what I do with lukie games if they have a reasonable price on a game then I’ll grab it if not then I won’t I go elsewhere for a better deal. And their customer service is way better than dk oldies. Dk oldies was rude when asking them questions.
Why would you buy a PS2 game with a 'slim' version of the PS3? It cant play PS2 games LOL
wasnt it the ps4 that could run ps games?
watching austin dance to pokemon stadium was very charming
I totally agree 👍😂
johanna always sounds so excited to be recording…..
never thought I'd hear Austin say "oh yeah thats a real cart"
11:20 i merely laughed so much 😂😂😂😂over Austin dancing 🤣 over the music 😂
ok back in the day, probably 2010-2014 i bought almost the entire ps2 set off their eBay area for less than 4,000 they were freaking great back then.
They are fine, dont let this fool gaslight this innocent buisness. I bet Lukie is competition for something he has in the works or is against someone hes invested into.
@@squarebodyseth5986 1. That's not what gaslight means. 2. If you're going to sling out an accusation like that, you best do the work and provide some proof, otherwise you have to question the motive for getting this defensive over a pretty even-handed video.
@@squarebodyseth5986 huh? Im unsure what you are talking about... I am a video game collector. I enjoy collecting every single game from sports games to the rare games. If i can get a deal somewhere I will always choose the best deal. This was 10 years ago. I have no clue as to if their practices have gotten better or worse. The last thing i do remeber buying was a bulk lot of 300 Japanese ps3 and psvita games for about $130. so I cant say i have been personally scammed.
@@dennett316 1. 100% does. He uses fake reactions and setups to manipulate and question our perception. "IS LUCKIE GAMES A SCAM? NO...but i dont like them so YES SCAM SCAM BAD BAD. I GOT ALL THE STUFF I PAID FOR BUT ITS A SCAMMM
@@squarebodyseth5986 lol what are you even talking about
I think the funniest part about this video is the end with the price of that ps3 but I remember when I saw the sucker for like $50 before at a gamestop
Just another reason why emulation is a good thing.
Those 360's GameStop was essentially giving away just a few years ago ($50 with a mail in rebate for $50).
I still have my SNES, N64, PS2 Slim, and PS3 Slim (the PS3 slim replaced my now display Fat PS3 with a microcracked motherboard), and none of them have rust. How on earth does that even happen?
Worst thing I can say about Lukie is that I've received bootleg versions of both the Genesis and SNES versions of Jurassic Park, this was back in 2011/2012.
My PS3 White Super Slim is still new, Got it from a retail store loooong ago, I took extreme care with it, Zero scratches and not a speck of dust on it.
the $17 Nintendogs game getting a baggie and the expensive Pokemon game and whole N64 console just raw doggin the transport is so insane lol
Whoever spends 200$ on a ninteno doesnt realize oculus exists
180 bucks for the og ds?!
They've bought from me on eBay, too. I was wondering if that'd come up.
I’ve been buying from Lukie Games for over a year. It’s always a hit and miss with that website. I’ve had a broken case, the wrong game sent several times, and their packaging is always questionable as well. Only reason I still even buy from the company is because of the cheap PS1 games they offer that I need for my collection, since I’m going for the full PS1 set.
The old consoles and games were so fun back then. I remember waiting in line 24 hours for xbox 360 . Me and my mom and dad all slept in the van taking turns waiting in line. I was number 15 in line and there was only 16 of them.
The background music on this video is very good I gotta say! Kudos to the person who put it in!
It's like they buy a console off of eBay, mark it up to a perceived category of what they want to sell regardless of condition just to make their money back and some. All this without touching the console, especially if they're reusing the eBay pics.
Find a local retro game shop and support them. These online retailers are sus.
The best Pokemon Stadium mini games were Delibird's delivery and Sushi go-round.
Common thing I've noticed is that most of the used game sites will over price consoles, controllers/accessories, but have decent deals on the games.
Years ago I ordered the Luigi special edition 3ds and a game. They sent it and forgot to charge me. Sent me emails asking if I would send them the money and I marked it as spam
I played Bad Company 2 last year and it hasn't stood up well to the test if time. Back in the day though, it was incredible.
I miss austin reviewing budget options . I enjoyed the underdog products shining here
on the Xbox 360, if you want to help prevent the "red ring" you should RE-PASTE the CPU and also do the "12 volt mod" for the fans. 5v was just to keep them quiet but the really need 12v to keep the system cool even though it is definitely noisier.
Those Pokémon mini games take me back man 😂
Color balance on this video seems a bit warm.
Was that intended?
What's with the subway surfer music during the ds unboxing
The transfer pak for N64 likely works, it's just that it doesn't really work with third party controllers. You need to use an original controller to make sure it works.
It almost sounds like they raise the price each time someone buys something and see how hight they can sell an item for.
I got my ds used for 40 with a custom clear shell so I could see the guts and my 2ds xl for 99 when they were originally eol'd is my life just going to be getting sticker shock til I keel over?
When I moved back to Canada from Europe, I needed a new PS3 because my 80 GB YLOD a week before I moved. I bought a 12 GB super slim PS3 from Target (when we still had them) for $100 CAD. I ended up putting a 1 TB HDD I had into it. It still runs great.
Dint the top loader or nest jr come with dog bone controllers cuz the super Nintendo was out at the same time??
Pretty interesting how these companies always check their devices about their state, seems completely off.
I Bought quite a few items from lukie games and never really have any issues Both games and consoles I remember buying a PS 2 and a gamecube games included with no problem. There was a time when I got my PlayStation 2 but no power cord.I called lukie games told them that I was missing a power cord and they sent a one over night.
Original copies of Pokemon Sapphire are very expensive. There is a company making reproductions for like 20 dollars. Make sure they aren't repos. I thought it was scam price too until I check all the listings and they say "repro" somewhere hidden in the text.
A top loader with duck hunt two controllers and zapper WITHOUT BOX FOR 210 is crazy
Ebay’s global shipping costs are so high that I usually order my American games from Lukie instead of Ebay. My experience has been decent so far. I’m not interested in the mainstream stuff they overprice.
i still have my ps3 that my parents gave me when i graduated like they wanted to give me a ps4 but i insisted on the ps3 causeit was the system that i grew up playing, it still runs fine which is surprising it screams thoughand being a super slim cleaning it is a scary task
Is it just me that i don’t see any Austin Evans contents on my feed for the past few months?
I bought a Discounted Wii from them a year ago. It's been great. No problems. It was just missing the top cover for the gamecube controller ports.
I've generally had good experiences with Lukie Games. As a Canadian gamer, I often get screwed on shipping rates when buying retro games on eBay. Lukie Games is one of the few outlets that still has reasonable shipping rates, which aren't the same or more than the game itself. They're packaged well, they arrive promptly, and while a few of their prices are out to lunch, they're generally good value.
Their customer service is also pretty decent. I once ordered Chameleon Twist for N64, and they accidentally sent me Chameleon Twist 2. When I pointed this out, they issued me a refund, and said I didn't need to send back the old game. So I went ahead and bought Chameleon Twist from them again. 🤭
I never buy systems from them, though. That's mostly because I don't trust buying systems online. Get systems locally, get games from Lukie.
Same , the free shipping is why I buy from them. Never had any issues.
Man, $190 for a super slim with a 160GB HDD is wild. I had a hard time selling my 500GB super slim CIB (with GTA V slip cover) and a dozen games for $150 (CAD)
Unfortunately lots of big sellers bid on games that are cheap and usually win . With that said lukie games sells gameboy cases for the cheapest out of anyone ive probably bought 50 from them
I ordered from this site like 6 or 7 years ago and one of the games they sent didn't work. They apologized, and sent me a new copy with no charge and gave me a 20% off coupon for my next order. I had 0 issues with them and they were fantastic to deal with. Maybe they have gone down hill from then idk
Luki used to buy my wholesale games and individual games too! And would use the same photos I posted too from eBay lol
Man I was obsessed with Socom 4
The moto: some people wanna pay $5 some people wanna pay $10 😂
18:40 we’re just gonna ignore the fact that Austin’s countdown wasn’t in the correct order? 3, 2, 1, 1 3/4, 1 1/2 😂
Do you think that perhaps with the lack of quality in shipping, that the 2 game boys were possibly mislabeled?
The end with the PS3 oh my god why did you say that
Those were 100% NOT the original controllers for the toploader NES. The original ones were more shaped like the SNES pads, not like the original rectangle NES ones.
I ordered Futurama for PS2 a while ago from these guys and it came to me alone in a single bubble mailer. I was absolutely floored.
Third party controllers usually have problems with the transfer pak
I’ve ordered numerous thing from lukie games (consoles/games only) and have never had a single issue with anything from them are the prices a bit high sometimes yes they are but that just seems to be life when buying older stuff now a days
11:10 here we see a pokemon fan in action!
just soya know the transfer paks almost always fail. i have multiple of both of the us official variants and only a few work to this day.
-"not red YET". 😂
When I was a kid my friends and I had a dirty joke about how to use the middle handle on N64 controllers.
What are good places to buy retro games?
The Transfer Pak tends not to work on 3rd party controllers, it especially does not like my Brawler 64
