redline2115 Actually roger did most of the weighting in this album, dogs was the only song were pretty much 90% of it was written by Gilmore. ruclips.net/video/F-xDKqTXytE/видео.html
I’d say the bass line (main driver of the song) was pretty collaborative as it is based off the double bass riff from “One Of These Days” . Gilmour and Waters each played a bass. But yes, Waters took a LOT more creative control with the songs themes, lyrics, and construction than ever before.
The original Pink Floyd in the 70s...I can barely even wrap my head around what that would have been like to see live. Especially when you look at the awesome shows Gilmour puts on these days, and then remember that Gilmour was only 25% of this band!
Thanks Dylan..What it was like was wonderful, pig flying above the crowd rear to the stage and every song from Animals plus a bit of Dark Side and Wish u were here to. Worth sleeping on a damp pavement in Manchester to buy tickets for too! Stu X
You know what I remember about the first time I heard Animals? It was 1986, and during "Dogs", when Roger's voice came in to sing his verses, I suddenly realized: "Oh, so THAT'S where Cy Curnin [of The Fixx] got his vocal style from!" Don't misunderstand, Curnin is a VERY strong singer, and in concert the Fixx never disappointed. I also believe he found his own voice eventually. But he has roots as a Floyd fan; he once said a Pink Floyd concert was the very first rock concert he ever attended.
"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He makes me down to die, through pastures green He leadeth me the silent waters by. With bright knives He releaseth my soul. He maketh me to hang on hooks in high places. He converteth me to lamb cutlets. For lo He hath great power, and great hunger. When cometh the day we lowly ones, through quiet reflection, and great dedication, master the art of Karate. Lo, we shall rise up. And then we'll make the bugger's eyes water."
.. La parte finale con le tastiere di R. Wright é una bella sorpresa rispetto allalbum originale. Fantastici Pink Floyd.. Mi sarebbe piaciuto veder questo tour!!!
Wow!!! does this bring back memories.Last row,in the nose-bleed seats at South Phillys Spectrum. After the opening song "Sheep",my brother and I found 2 seats on the floor maybe 20 rows back,a little left of the stage. What a HUGE difference that made with the visuals and the quad sound system. After some 800+ concerts attended,to this day still in my top 2 shows of all time.
Thanks for posting. Its just a shame the cherry pickers with fireworks ascending at the start of the coda were not captured. I was at the Wembley show for this tour, and the memory of that part of the show still brings me out in goosebumps. One of the most awesome things I have ever seen and heard
This tour, July 2, 1977 in New York was my third Floyd show, and the first one that was ever really right MUSICALLY. They always did need a second guitarist, and having Snowy along finally put things right. Listen to boots of DSM and WYWH shows, and it bears this out. This show WAS indeed rockin'. Very powerful.
> I remember... Paris, Halle de Baltard... Feb. 1977... the first, but not the least, fabulous, unforgettable concert of Pink Floyd I've ever seen ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ !
As I mentioned on the channel for part 1 of this song: This clip may be made of video shot during the very show it purports to be ... but Snowy White played bass on all the Animals material. With the exception of "Dogs", Roger played rhythm guitar on all the Animals songs. Notice the camera never really focuses on Roger singing at the microphone for very long. Those shots, with him playing bass, are likely from a non-Animals song. Not to burst anyone's bubble or anything . . . .
Was this May 9 or 10? The May 9 gig was the one where the audience behaved themselves and the band were so enthralled they came out and did a 2nd encore of Careful With That Axe Eugene.
1:16 is Anaheim Stadium 1:32 - Stadthalle Vinnea, 1:40 - Anaheim Stadium (but from the song Pigs (Three Different Ones)), 1:53 - Olympiahalle Munich, 1:58 - Anaheim Stadium again, 2:14 - Pictures used in the Munich footage at the "Pink Floyd 8mm" video, 2:28 - Stadthalle Vienna (but it can also be Olympiahalle, I have watch the 4-min. Anaheim Stadium footage very much). 2:41 - Anaheim Stadium, 2:44 - Munich, 3:40 - Stadthalle Vienna
Oakland Coliseum, May 9 1977. IMO, one of their finest live performances ever. Check out Pigs 3 Different Ones, which may be their finest ever 20 mins on stage. Make sure you find the full version, and be prepared to go slack jawed.

Live, maybe. On record, the bass is recorded by Dave as other tracks in Animals. Roger plays guitar at the end and sings. If you note it, the bass playing is very similar to "One of these days" were Roger and David both play bass, being Roger the most "basic" and Dave more like this tune, check it with phones!
I saw them do this song live in a stadium and they had giant cherry pickers raise up on stage behind them dripping fireworks from the baskets. It is still memorable.
Pink Floyd is my favorite band and this album was the second best behind The Dark side of the moon! Sheep is THE best song on this album! I truly love the end of this song! I just really like psychedelic music! TIME, YOUNG LUST, ONE OF THESE DAYS and SHEEP are my favorite. The Wall plain sucked except for young lust, way below Floyds potential! Cool post, thanks.
Edwin Tomlinson You seemed to have left out Wish You Were Here album, great in it's own right......Waters had everyone moving in a different direction for the Wall....
Pafemo: Thanks a million for these amazing videos. You're an artist and very generous for sharing them. I DO LOVE PINK FLOYD! so this is honey to me. Are you from Chile? I'm from Colombia and saw Waters here in Bogota, then in Sao Paolo and then in NY.
Grande Los Jaivas - Grande Pink Floyd...
4:07 - Munich, 4:26 - Stadthalle Vienna, 5:01 - Munich, 5:15 is a video often used in Pink Floyd videos at RUclips. I didn't know what the name of that video is, so if someone know it, please tell me.
The only thing that nearly ruined this concert at the Phila Spectrum Was the F'ing a-holes who disrupted the show launching fireworks. Pink Floyd walked off. I couldn't blame them. I hope the shmuck who spearheaded that got his hands broken. At least the band knew better and came back on... So it wouldn't ruin it for an otherwise great audience who paid to see a great show. Thanks for posting this!
Greatest outro ever.
Dave wrote it, so you know Roger will never play it again, that twisted old fruit...
What? This was the first song.

@@redline2115 he's just as God made him
I personally consider this their best tour ... Animals was a great record ..
Just scored it on vinyl, rather chuffed :P
One of the greatest guitar riffs of all time.
Imagine being at this concert. Then imagine being at this concert during the outro of this song. I would cry.
I couldn't care less for the bad sound and unsynced video. This was absolutely amazing. Thank you very much for posting.

This song has the most truimphant ending to any song ever. Best song of the 70s. Greatest album of all time. Period.
A call to arms…
Completamente d'accordo.. Sheep è fantastica.. Uno dei pezzi migliori dei Pink Floyd.. Gran ritmo e poi quellassolo finale.. Maestoso!!!
watching this video made me miss Rick terribly :( RIP genius
My mother still has her ticket stub from seeing them that year at Soldier Stadium.
OH MY GOSH Roger Waters' scream is fucking insane! i love that man!
its funny how roger can play one note (2 if you count octaves as different) and captivate me more than most bass i hear.
OMG! LOVE THE SCREAM!!!!!!!!!!!!! FRIGGING SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!

i will never forget hearing the studio version of this " classic" i knew right then and there. this is what music is all about!
That guitar chord progression on the outro.
Pure genious

I would really like to answer the 2 guys who dislike this masterpiece: what the fucking hell do you live for?
I was at this show July 3rd 1977 MSG. I was 12 years old!

@boonexy 2 notes, as tuned by Rick Wright! :D
Who is the other guitar player thats just tearing up that guitar..quite awesome then David comes in with his over the top lead screaming..
Clarence “Snowy” White. He was a member of the ‘77 and ‘79 tours.
I have it on vinyl x original rather played though
i know all of these facts sir, i was posting on a live video >.
Looks like 2 bass players for this live version? Roger + Snowy white or Andy Bown is it also playing bass in the background?
I don't know where the video is from, but the audio is from Oakland
Live in Munich
LOS JAIVAS SON LA RAJA WEON
@pafemo I thought Roger played rhythm guitar on this song?
Does anybody have any footage of the nuclear family, the caddilac, or the refrigerator inflatables?
la cancion es entera buena, pero el final chucha wn el final es la raja Pink Floyd por siempre ctm
@iskander667 man, pink floyd is a one feeling for everyone :)
Lushhhhhhh
what show is this from?
The lyrics of Waters = What life is all about.
this is so cut up..
Two bad Waters has ta be such a prick and gets kicked outa tha band.
The only thing that nearly ruined this concert at the Phila Spectrum
Was the F'ing a-holes who disrupted the show launching fireworks.

2nd best album after the final Cut.
Really? Lol. To each his own. Just never heard the final cut considered the best album.
Well, for me The Final Cut and Animals are the worst Pink Floyd Albums... Dark Side and Wish you were here the best :)
You're all half right. Dark Side and Animals are the best
All of them need to go, I don,t like Whoopi or Joy but thry are the only ones that keep it going.
Fantastic!
