This is meant to demonstrate the similarities and differences between Sabertrio's Proffie and CFX NeoSaber collection. Although there are two different boards installed, they share certain features, and Sabertrio's Pre-Configuration for Proffie has massively simplified and likened itself to CFX functionality.
As I do not work for Sabertrio, I cannot personally help you with issues you may have with their sabers, this is simply for instructional/informational purposes as a third-party.

Great video! Being able to fully power-down w/out needing a separate kill switch swings the vote to CFX for me.
I plan on getting a CFX or proffie from sabertrio in around a week or so, and I have no interest in modding the saber in any way. So I was wondering does what saber I get in the end matter? Like does one saber sound better or have better swing FX? I already have a proffie from crimson dawn if that helps.
People SAY the smoothswing is better on proffie but i have heard equally proofless feedback CFX is just as good. Same with the speaker. Proffie needs a killswitch tho

Very nice un-biased comparison. Great info for the newbies out there wondering which board they should get. S3's default Proffie config seems perfect for their customer base. Some other vendors should take a hint haha. Very excited to see what S3 makes for GRAFX once that goes live for CFX.

Wow. Some of you guys got your sabers pretty fast. I also ordered mine on Black Friday. I ordered a Krosguaard CFX. Maybe those take longer to build, since they said that's the most intricate saber they've ever made.
Custom sabers always take longer than RTS sabers. The RTS sabers on Black Friday were all Proffie so that's why the CFX sabers are taking longer. I'm still waiting for my custom CFX Skylar too.

Thanks for the video Lando! I managed to get an RTS Senza in the BF sale and have a couple of questions. Is it possible to play backing track music on a font while the blade is ignited like I have seen on a few cfx sabertrio videos and if so which buttons are they using to activate as it looks like a double power button press which I believe on the proffie is now a lightning block? Also tbh I'm pretty gutted we don't get any of the cool soundfonts from cfx either on proffie like 'Hoth' I was really excited about 😑 Is there any way to get them still? sorry I'm a noob 🤦🏻♂️
I love the button layout they went with; however, gesture controls are one of the features that gives proffie an edge over cfx. I wonder how difficult it would be to refactor the twist on/off code in fett263's 2 button prop file and implement it in the s3button_config prop file...
That’s exactly what I’m wondering!!! I’m pretty proficient with cfx but this will be my first Proffie saber! Gotta remember to hit that kill switch to save battery life now too lol!!
If I remember correctly when you did a video comparing several soundboards, one thing you noted is that CFX isn't as responsive on the smoothswing as Proffie. Is that small responsiveness issue fixed with the sabertrio proffie ?
You can also now compare the sound of Proffie vs CFX with the same accoustic chamber (or close to since I imagine the accoustic chamber's on both sabertrio hilts are comparable). Looking forward to that video !

Just got my proffie a couple days ago, so excited but is yours really loud too ? The volume is extremly high and i have to put a tissue on the speaker to mitigate the sound so my ears don't bleed since you can't change the volume without flashing the card xD
do saber ignitions look better with proffie or cfx?
I wish Sabertrio had in hilt recharge. I really dislike shaking the chassis out. I had a Makoto and Genesis Custom that both died this way. Chassis removal should happen sparingly.

Aside from the ease of use of CFX and Proffie offering more customizability. I'm reading on the /lightersaber that Proffie is limited to the amount of sound fonts (presets?) since it's being saved directly to the board instead of an SD card, can you explain more about this.
Also, how many presets are able to save with the Proffie. Do you ever find yourself maxing out on presets when using proffie?

Well, there's a few things happening when it comes to CFX customization. Its definitely being upgraded way more. Check out a channel called CrystalFocus and look at a few of their videos, they have a new program that allows you to easily customize your saber.
@@Zero_614 does CFX have preon effects yet? Last I heard it was still in beta. That's one thing that is making me lean heavily towards proffie.
@@eddiehoang7066 I'm pretty sure it is, then again, those can be done by adjusting the color to black and using the Grafx Pixel to make custom animations for it.

Hey Lando, got my sabertrio saber delivered two days ago, attempted to remove the sd card but damaged it somehow as it says "sd card not found" when the saber is activated with the card inside. Also doesn't show up on my pc but another sd card does. I've lost all my fonts and have contacted sabertrio but they still haven't replied. What should I do? I'm super worried I won't be able to get whatever was on the sd card.
Was there an option on the config to turn on/off the illuminated AV switch?
As I said earlier, I didn’t mess with that. It’s probably one of the optional defines at the top of the config file, but I didn’t touch them.
Does CF boards have the same customizability as Proffie boards as for as different sounds & profiles?

If I didn't use the kill-switch and just left it idle. Would this be bad? How long would the battery charge last?
It will drain the battery, which will mean you have to charge it before next use. It’s pointless to not use the kill switch.
Can you do this in Mac?
As someone who picked up an RTS saber as their first saber will you be doing a RTS S3 tutorial on how to add fonts to that specific board? Seemed somewhat different than the previous tutorial and I would like as much clarity as I can get for my first proffie board
There’s no difference between a S3 Proffie and a regular Proffie. And RTS just means Ready-To-Ship, it’s not a special term that changes the type of saber it is.
@@LandoSabers Oh im aware what the rts stands for and how it doesnt change anything, just the different config file are gonna make me double check everything and well....it never hurts to be more thorough
