One thing to bear in mind with picking colours... remember you're dealing with LED light power... so while say a "pure white" blade for a Ashoka Tano / Dark Saber might look nice at 255/255/255 -- it means it's running the LED's at full power all the time and that when you do clash/lockup/blast etc they cannot go brighter than they already are....
So for example, my Ashoka Tano colour i run 180,180,210 - which is very slight blue tint but overall fairly white but gives the LED's about 20-30% of their brightness for clash.
A strong red colour for example is only running something like 128,0,0 which means it runs the LED at 1/2 power and gives plenty of additional brightness available for effects.
Just a little tip to bear in mind .... as i noticed for your green you used 0,255,0 which means you're running the green LED at full tilt. Again, it's possible but drains batteries quicker and gives no spare brightness for effects on that colour.
Yeah mate your bang on with that, something to keep in mind for sure, if youre using white as a clash or lockup colour then no issues unless your main blade colour is white like you said. Also just had to configure this for code fulcrum sound font from kyberphonic and wen the same route as you in giving the white blade a blue hue to it. Looks Dope too!
@@AbsoluteSabers Is code fulcrum a CW based ashoka or something -- can't quite make out what the voice says on the font announce. For Ashoka i use "The Sourcerer" from Kyber as it's a mandalorian one and very very sweet..... having said that are any of KSith/Kyberphonic fonts NOT amazing :D

Just tried your suggestion and turned down the solid-colored blade styles to 128 from 255...you're right, clashes look better and no noticeable difference with the blade color. Like that this also saves power and extends the battery life - thanks for the suggestion!!!

@@christophergiachetti1133 the mace sound font from ksith is great, just play around with the purple/pink on the blade to get it right for you. Also, kyberphonic does a couple real good Ahsoka fonts too, code fulcrum is my fave but he also has commander tano which is still kickass!

@@AbsoluteSabers Will do. I got my first saber recently, but the design is quite basic. So I ordered a Saberforge Exalted Mk2 but can't find who makes their sound boards.
@@overkillphil514 I believe they use the golden harvest v3 boards mate, they may use another board for their lower end builds such as single color led with sound but im pretty sure theyre still using tht GHV3 board for their hero tier installs.

I've watched yours and a few other videos on the "long" way of adding/programming new fonts and blade styles, and while it looks like that way gives you so much more control on how the blade looks, it is WAY too involved and confusing for me, and I'm just not into wiping the config and replacing it every time I want to add another blade style, so I am VERY thankful for this method that you posted! That said, I've run across an issue that I'm not sure if i am doing something wrong, or is just one of the bugs with doing this the "Easy" way....I've noticed that the color changes you select don't always translate to the blade. For example, I am installing a Qui Gon blade style, and using the "standard" set-up, the blade lights up green if I use Red = 0, Blue = 0, and green = 255. However, I want to lighten the blade up a little and when I use the color wheel above and set it to a lighter green, the blade lights up white, no matter how little or much I change the level of green in the program. In addition, the clash is set at white, but is clearly pink on the blade. I have the same issue when I use the "Advanced" and "Unstable" settings. Have you experienced this too? If so, were you able to get around this, or does this appear to be an issue with the program? Thanks much for your videos and help!!!!
Best thing to do is to use a rgb colour picker on google and play around with some values on the rgb as some of the features are still in development from what I know as they are going to use this online program for the new OS6 for proffie

Thanks man, I do try to be as up to date and current as I can be. A lot of confusion between the names of boards and blade tech etc but the Xenopixel is the name of the soundboard which actually only comes with the option of a neopixel blade and not in hilt rgb unlike the proffie board that can come in both in hilt or neopixel configurations, saying that, the neopixel option is the only way to go if you have a proffie board in my opinion! @@AbsoluteSabers yea me leia im waiting on is my first neopixel after seeing almost every vid there is on leias dw saber and neopixel sabers nothing but good stuff.Only saw one bad vid and it was where the guy got it from which was why he was having issues with his neopixel.Had a buddy ask me whats the difference was between xenopixel and proffie told him its the soundboard configuration and the priffie can do something the xenopixel cant(grasping at straws) as far as that i have no clue lol.
Yeah so you can configure custom blade styles with the proffie board for any sound fonts you add. The Xenopixel can still add sound fonts, see my other video, but can’t update blade styles or customise any blade styles. That’s the only real difference! But when OS6 is available for proffie then that will change the game. It will bring the customisation features into the board itself so you can play around with pretty much every aspect of how the saber behaves without having to rewrite the config file over and over, or so I’m lead to believe! Hope you enjoy your Leia, it’s a great saber, nice display piece also!

Is there a way to swap out the red ignition switch on the saber for like a blue or green illuminated switch. Is there a place I can buy a different one. The red is nice but I want to customize the illuminated on/off switch to something different.
Thank you SO MUCH for posting this video! I just added several fonts with your help! A few questions though...When I go to edit the blade style and choose "Advanced," it completely screws up the "Lockup"...instead of putting the color of the lock-up in a small section of the blade, it changes the whole blade, whether it be the default white color or whatever else I choose. Everything else looks great, except for that, so I have to choose either use the Advance edit and mess up the lockup, or use the other 2 options but not be able to get the timing and clash colors I want, etc. Am I doing something wrong when I'm using the Advance edit that is messing up the Lockup, or is that a flaw in the Easy Prorffie OS program? Again, thank you - the Arduino method of making changes is so intimidating that there is no way I would have been able to do this - so much appreciation!!!
Just tried making changes with the "Advanced" editor on a copy of a blade style where the Lock-Up produces a localized color change, and the same thing happened...the entire blade now changes to the color on the lock-up, instead of just a localized color change, so it appears that this Advanced Editor is the source of the issue. I tried all the different available settings and nothing worked, so it appears you have to accept the trade-off of either a less-realistic Lock-Up for color, timing, spark-tip, etc. control, or localized Lock-Up but no ability to change those other items. That's a shame, because I really like the change on the clash...I made it a pale yellow, like in the original trilogy, and it looks awesome - even better than what was originally programmed. Oh, well, given how mind-blowingly awesome these proffie/neopixel sabers are, it's a minor issue, and maybe one that will be corrected when OS6 comes out.
Does it add fonts, I though it was just editing them
Does this app allow you to change and add sounds to the fonts on the saber other than the music tracks (font selection, pre-on, ignition etc..) or is it mostly for blade styles and colour that you can edit?
You can add sound fonts but you can’t do pre ons or ignitions, only blade styles. I know that there will be a version of this software for proffie OS6 that will be able to utilise a lot more than what this version does
can you please tell me why whenever i eject my sd card, and try to plug the micro usb back in it doesn't inject the sd card again? the only way for it to inject my sd card again so i can add fonts to it is by going into the arduino app and re applying a config to the sd

My saber didn’t come with a Luke front from ROTJ and that’s one of the fonts needed on my saber. Because it’s Luke’s ROTJ saber

Proffie always had bugs my friend, I would definitely suggest looking at my other Proffie tutorials and learning the full process

I watched this video a couple months ago, and tried it. It was working at first then my battery was placed the other way and it fried my saber. Ronin fixed it but Im scared to do it again even with battery in correctly, should I?

I'm following the instructions and it's working for the most part save for a small issue. When I add a new font, my saber will say "font directory not found" at the same time as the font startup sound when switching to that font. However, the font itself still turns on and works fine. Any fix ideas?
That’s definitely a new one, never experienced that before. I would delete it and add it back again, see if that fixes it
does the cable connect to where I charge the saber or does it connect to the small port on the proffi board? Also what type of cable? Like a USB -C?

Hi I would like to ask you something a few days ago I saw in a tutorial a simple method to change fonts on proffie or open a folder on the sd card leave the name of the folder unchanged but replace everything in it with the new font .... I tried and it worked only that the speaker on those fonts that I changed tends to croak the sound can you tell me why and if it is solvable? on the other fonts it feels good ...

So when i plug up the saber it finds it and it gives the option to connect but when i press connect it the menu goes away as if it connected but it doesn't do anything. Any idea what could be the problem?
Sounds like web usb interface may not be active on your proffie board. What browser are you using? I found chrome best to use. If you are using chrome already, I think you would need to reflash the board unfortunately.

Hi, do you know what should I do to fix the no webusb interface found problem? I'm using chrome as the browser and a data cable to connect to my sabertheory's saber, but the webusb is not working.
It may not be setup for web usb access unfortunately, some are straight out of the factory and some aren’t. You’ll need to follow my 4 step proffie guide
I have a quick question. This is by far the best tutorial I have seen so far for this, however I'm a little cautious to proceed as when I connect my USB to the saber, the proffieboard isn't showing up under the devices tab on the windows menu to know if the SD card is mounted. Am I doing something wrong for it not to show up?
Unfortunately that means the board wasn’t set up for web usb and serial interface when it was programmed, you’ll need to do it the traditional way buddy, I have a 4 step proffie guide on my channel to help you
@Absolute Sabers Thanks for the quick reply! Unfortunately about a second after I posted it my saber fell from my desk and the MicroUSB port was ripped off the Proffieboard and I have no idea how to fix it.
It seemed to work for me. But when pressing on the edit button (pencil icon) it cannot find the options on the edit column. It gets stuck on "getting options..."".

I just purchased my first Proffie Saber and i was wondering if this same program would work on a removable chassis. The saber is the Ulitmate Works RVS. Just wanted to know if i still have this as an option for editing styles.
If it’s a proffie soundboard then yes. Good choice in saber by the way, I have the asteria RVS, gorgeous hilt, you’ll love it ✌️

@@spencergray4092 I haven’t tried using it for data transfer, my advice is pick up a micro sd card reader, they’re not expensive, better way to transfer files to the sd card, quicker too!

You would need to go into the config unfortunately, the web editor does allow you to manipulate the volume but that’s only for when the board is connected for demo purposes. Also, if you press your power Button and it the hilt simultaneously it will enter volume advisement, a quick press turns the volume up and a 1 second hold/release will turn the volume down, you then hold the button and hit the hilt again to exit the volume menu. Hope this helps!
@@AbsoluteSabers Hi. Well, I got an email for Randy at Korbanth Support and he said that the only way to change the volume is to use the Arduino software. Your suggestion didn't seem to work, but maybe I didn't do it correctly. Or maybe Korbanth made a custom change to the config. Either way, I really appreciate your help and the video.

@@AbsoluteSabers Hi. It’s a 2 button. MPP 2.5. Bottom button turns the light saber blade on and off. Top button changes the fonts.
@@Tome1492 try holding the top button on hitting the hilt to see if it makes a noise to let you into the volume settings. If not then it sounds like korbanth may have dont a weird config on it

Im new to lightsabers and Programming these but I just got an lightsaber for the first time and now I’m eager to Programm it. But the website just says in the top left corner when asking for an proffieboard that there’s an proffieboard and not one that is paired/connected. I can’t really figure out why my pc doesn’t want to pair as the proffieboard is shown but not as connected and it doesn’t give me the option to pair.

the board may not be configured for web usb my friend, you will unfortunately need to learn how to flash your board with a new config, or if you have a copy of your current config. There are several videos on how to do this on youtube, I should have one up in the next week or so.
Hello again. Just wonder if this is still relevant today. My golden harvest saber went back to be replaced as it was faulty. Seen padwan op had new stock of proffies and couldn't resist and purchase the rev1. Thought best look up how these this work.
Yes you can still do it this way but I would encourage you to follow my other 2 proffie tutorials to learn properly as it will give you a much much better experience
What sound font is the Luke Skywalker one please? I have ESB sound font but it doesn't have the font wav file that just says "luke skywalker" like yours when you make the changes
The Luke skywalker one I used in this video is called “LS6” by Ksith saber fonts.

1. The soundfonts showing on the website, are they the soundfonts that are in your lightsaber?
2. Is it only the colours and blade styles that change and not the sound?
So yeah they are the ones that are currently on the saber mate, you can add new fonts with this too, just follow the video everything is there
Do I need an SD card reader as of now? or can I still do this without frying my board
Sd card reader is always useful for transferring fonts, sometimes the proffie board doesn’t like doing it through micro usb

Unfortunately not my friend, the board looks for specific folders which are determined by your config so if you just drag and drop new fonts onto the sd card they won’t work, to do it that way you would need to just replace the individual sound files within one of the existing font folders. I do have a video on how to do this if you check the channel 🤘
Stupid question. but I mounted my sd card. But how do I get to where I'm able see the sd card again (unmount it?) in order to add files.
You’d be best to add files to the sd card via a micro sd card reader if I’m honest. Adding files via the micro usb cable can be problematic buddy.

Can you also customize crossguards with this? Lets say edit a side vent delay?

@@AbsoluteSabers so my 3.9 proffie saber arrived yesterday and unfortunately I've got the "no webUSB" error like many others. I've looked into a bunch of videos (mostly yours) which are really great but is there a really simple option for newbies like me to just enable the webUSB for the board without all the programming? Or is your 4 steps video the perfect way? I've seen the option to add the "mass storage+ web usb tool" in Arduino, can only this work? Or should I really do it completely step by step to finally enter the easy web editor?
@krystianrzepecki1154 unfortunately to my knowledge buddy the only way to enable it is to do so via the arduino software. The easiest way to do it would be to just use the existing config that came on your saber, there’s usually a copy of it on the sd card, that way you’re not changing anything except the webusb option
Totally necroing this - Do you have to have the battery in as well as the USB while doing this?
Yes you do HOWEVER, there are rumours of proffie boards being fried when leaving the battery in and connecting the data cable, this is not true, I’ve done it hundreds of times and never had an issue.

Hey! I have a problem. I connected my proffieboard and under „Presets” it says „Waiting to list presets” and under „Tracks” it says „Card is busy, flags”. I don’t know what to do now
Is there a way to edit 2 blades individually if you have a dual bladed lightsaber?
I haven't tried this as i do not have a double bladed proffie YET, HOWEVER, judgingby the user interface I dont think so UNLESS you have 2 separate soundboards in the saber.

Unfortunately yes you would need to use zadig and arduino to reflash the board. I will get a video up hopefully this weekend and go through the full thing.

It depends on what sound board has been used, if it is a proffie soundboard then yes, this tutorial is specifically for the proffie board.

Unfortunately that means the web usb option has not been selected when the initial config has been done SO you’ll need to do it the other way of making another config, OR depending where you bought your saber from there may be a copy of it on your sd card. I've purchased several extra sound fonts, mainly from KSith, but also from a few others. When transferring those fonts over to the SD card, I've noticed there is a folder titled "Extras" with a sub-folder titled "Quotes." I drag the "Extras" folder over but I can never seem to access the various "Quotes." Is that "Quotes" sub-folder actually supposed to be pulled out separately from the "Extras" folder?" How are those "Quotes" accessed when using the saber? During start-up? Force?
So don’t drag the folder out, infact the extras folder doesn’t need to be on the sd card at all. You can use these files as alternative font selection, boot, preon sounds 🤘

@@chrispetro4463 so padawan outpost are just a reseller of LGT buddy as are Darkwolf except Darkwolf are an actual business partner of LGT. I have a proffie saber I got from korbanth. It came with fonts and blade styles. Will those stay or will they be deleted? Is there a way to save what's on there already?
Hi. I got my Darth Vader (MPP) from Korbanth last week. I used this editor and it didn't erase the installed fonts. It seems to work. BUT, I am rookie programer so I still could break something. I made two backups of the original config. Keep in mind that according the Korbanth's website, adjusting the fonts will violate their warranty. So make sure everything works and that are you are ready for that risk before you start programming anything. Good luck.
Also, you need to get a right angle usb micro data transfer cable if you don't have one already. They are available at amazon. Make sure you don't get usb c and that it's rated for data transfer.
@@Tome1492 thank you. I have been wanting to add new fonts and blade styles but didn't want to mess up what was on there.
Mine lets me pair the board when I click USB, but after that it just sits on the screen, Ive clicked USB multiple times and nothing works. I have reflashed the board twice as well

ive got an issue where mine wont connect at all, my pc recognises that ive plugged mine in but i cant see it in files, ive gone to customer support but theyve been awful and havent helped, i have a lightsaber with a circular charging cable, no sd card or data cable and i have no clue what to do, any help would be GREATLY appriciated

How do I make a master copy of the original presents that came with the saber so I don’t lose them?
You should have a folder on your ad card that contains your original config, if not then contact the company you purchased the saber from and ask them for a copy for your saber. As for the sd card it’s self, you can get a sd card reader, copy all of the contents of the sd card and paste them into a back up folder on your computer. Hope this helps .

Did you have the battery inside the lightsaber when u did this??
Controversially yes, it doesn’t work without a battery installed but make sure it’s not a power cable you’re using and only a data cable

Yes I believe so, they have updated the web usb editor to work with the latest versions of proffie os and have improved on it also
I have my proffie saber plugged into my computer and I installed the WinUSB driver using Zadig but when I go to the ProffieOS Workbench it says "No webUSB interface found" even though the website recognized that the proffieboard was plugged in. I have already tried switching to a different USB port and nothing changed. How would I be able to fix this?
You need to activate the web usb option in arduino and then upload a new config buddy (or your current config if supplied on the sd card by your vendor)

Unfortunately you will need to reflash your board and select the serial+webusb+serial interface option in arduino. There are other videos on RUclips which show you how to do this, unfortunately I don’t have one at the moment as my proffie saber actually is out of action at the moment

Works on all proffie sabers but they have to be set up a specific way from the factory (web usb interface) needs to be activated in arduino when uploading the config.
Can I add here turn on and Turn off gesture for saber?
What should I do when I conect saber to my computer and nothing is happening? Should I click both gold buttons? Will it remove everything from proffieboard?
Sorry mate been super busy! So if you press both buttons it will remover EVERYTHING from the board and you will need to reupload the Software and your config file

Yes you can, add the file to the “tracks” folder on the sd card and then when you’re building your font on the editor you can select it. Make sure your sd card is in the board when doing this. A micro sd card reader is needed too obviously.
Can you change boot up to a lightsaber?
Depends on the sound board but yes, You would need to access the sd card and replace the “boot” file with the desired one of your choice
for some reason i can turn the volume down when im on this website, but the second i disconnect my use b from my proffie board it goes back to full volume. Any tips? Thanks
That is only for testing buddy, it doesn’t change the volume setting on the board unfortunately

I don’t think your proffie board is set up for web usb interface unfortunately buddy, you may need to just learn how to do it the proper way, I do have a tutorial. It is a bit more involved but not too difficult

So I’m in dire need here I was trying to get my saber set up where I could add sound fonts and I think I did everything right in zadzig and arduino but now my saber won’t cut on at all no matter what I do I even put all the original files back on my sd card but it won’t power on and I know it has a full battery
That’s very very strange, did you ensure you put the correct number of buttons on the config? And did your new config 100% upload to the board?

I would go follow my 4 step proffie video buddy, sounds like it would help a lot more. The number of buttons can be adjusted on the main config

Unfortunately that means your proffie board doesn’t have web usb interface activated so you can’t use the editor until you load a custom config. I’ve got a couple of proffie tutorials which will help

Restarted several times, able to view my current presets and such. Not sure what else to do!
You may need to follow the actual route of using arduino and doing a config for it mate as web usb may not be activated on your current settings. I do have a full tutorial on proffie so go check that out, it’s a long one but if you follow it you’ll be fine 🤘

The micro usb port, the type C port is for charging only
Hey man, I know this is an older video but I’m prepping myself for when my first proffie comes in and I don’t wanna screw it up. Around 7:00 your cursor goes behind the video of your keyboard and I couldn’t see what you meant when you said “it should be down here.” Do you just copy the fonts I want to add straight onto the SD card without replacing anything?
Also, is there a limit to how many fonts? It seems like you have a LOT, but usually I thought the limit was around 20, so I’m wondering if once I get close to that number I need to delete some presets before making new ones
So you can put the sound font onto the sd card and then use the editor to add it and make the style yes
Just whatever the capacity of the sd card BUT the more you add, the performance tends to dip as there’s more files to read so I usually keep it to around the 20ish mark

So when I click "Here" and it takes me to USB or BLE after i click USB it says "No WEBUSB interface Found" why is that please help with this I cant find any answers.
Looks like webusb option hasn’t be setup on your proffie board buddy, you’ll need to locate the config for you board, a copy of it should be on your sd card depending where you got it from, and select the serial + sd+ webusb option in the tools drop down of arduino. I have a 4 step proffie guide on the channel as well as a OS6 guide too, I’d recommend watching both of those starting with the 4 step tutorial

it should be on your SD card my friend, if not then check out the proffie support section on Dark Wolf Sabers website. A lot of reading but tells you everything about proffie!
