Thank you so much, all other videos I see are like “okay so you hold it forwards, tilt it a bit” and then just instantly do the spin and everyone in the comments are like “ohhhh that was easy” and I just don’t get it lol, this actually made sense
The way you explain spinning is so visual. You were born for this fr. It's kind of crazy how well you understand it. I would have never figured it out without this video. So, thank you.
lightsaber spinning is very similar to bo staff spinning but I feel you can do more with a staff because you can hold it on different areas and let it touch your body
I loved how you kept the mistake in here to show that you're humble and not just trying to all "too good". You know? Mistakes are lessons to be learned. Much love for that.
I looked at several Obi Ani tutorials and your tips were the only ones that seemed to help my brain click, very good tutorial. Thank you! Perfect practice makes perfect
Funnily enough the spin is something obi wan never does otherwise It only happened because the two knew each other's moves so perfectly that each lethal strike was garenteed to be blocked and perfectly countered without them even needing to commit,so it just resulted in a moderate amount of spinning
I'm so glad other people understand this. I remember back in the day people making so much fun of them and me thinking how absolutely perfect it was showing their connection and equal ability/knowledge of each other
Most people are stupid and take things mostly at face value. I don't mean to sound like a douche but this particular topic of star wars really bothers me. As there is so much depth to it that's wasted on so many. Again.... I don't think I'm better than people lol I know that sounds douchy
@@bedubes2757 No you're right. So many people misinterpreted that scene but it's because they both know what the other is doing so they basically were just dancing around eachother for a moment.
Except they would have landed because they are deliberately missing each other while doing the spin when there was no block or counter available. It resulted in an extreme amount of pointless spinning when either could have killed the other with 100% certainty about 5 times.
I finally got my first lightsaber with the help of your videos, and now I’m learning to spin it too. I didn’t know if it would be worth the money once I got a lightsaber, but learning tricks and practicing with it has been so much fun. Thanks for the help, now I can impress my friends with epic Obi-Ani spins 😎
Wow that was awesome! I've been spinning since I was a kid and whenever my friends asked me to teach them I could never do it effectively. I always just say it's "more of a feeling thing". I always found myself fumbling when breaking it down. This was a fantastic guide! I'm showing everyone this now whenever they ask haha.
These detailed tips are amazing, I couldn’t figure out the obi-ani until the trace step was explained, the upside down lightsaber for the weight change is also genius
I watched several of these, and they were good, but something about this one, I was able to get the muscle/body movements down, even without a sword or stick in my hand. So by the next day when I did, I could pretty much do it. And I have been just getting more confident with it, as I go. I did already do Bo Staff and Kali, so I was familiar with these movements. I did try to learn the Obi Ani years ago, but I never got it really, but watching this, it just took a day.
"Your new empire? Anakin my allegiance is with the republic, to democracy!" Said Obi-Wan "If you're not with me then your my enemy" Anakin replied "Only a sith deals absolutes I will do what I must" obi-wan pulls his lightsaber from his belt "You will try" said Anakin...
Love that you kept that blade toss/loss in the video! Realistic is always best and it gives us hope knowing it happens! That saber also looks like Crimson Dawns Banshee hilt? I thought you did a very good job and I look forward to learning more! (Michelle C Smith) is a master saber spinner but honestly I thought you did just as good at teaching it! Great Job!!!

I remember the spin from Episode 3 but I've always thought it was flashy, unrealistic, and impractical to do during an actual duel. It's basically just a fancy dance move you can do to impress people who don't know anything about swordfighting.
This video made me master this spin. Actually, this video made me buy my first lightsaber, now I have four. Well three, I destroyed my first one by spinning in my garden which has no grass. And then it's best to not let your saber fall.... Which I didn't..... Multiple times 🤣🤣 Nevertheless, thank you for showing me the way.
Thank you, all the other tutorials had you put it up right against your back as a step, which despite me having 10 years in stage combat, still made it deceptively difficult. The trace your waist part is a much better way of explaining the movement in a dynamic way.
I have a real lightsaber. It cost $1.2 million. Lasts about 17 seconds. And I forgot step 1. Stretching. I was on the 23rd floor of a skyscraper when I dropped it. I own the building owner $377 million in adusted dollars because it melted through all the floors until it hit concrete in the basement.
