He absolutely wasn't trying to overpower her as you said. Sounded like he was trying to gently push her forward and say you go girl. Cuz you know how powerful Chris's voice was and especially when he sang this track. He probably had a hard time keeping it so low- key

Well said Toni... I have listened to this song over and over. I know your pain is unbearable. I spent my first Father's Day without my baby daughter Cassidy. She was 21 and had her whole life ahead of her. Her life was taken by a Takata airbag about the same time that your Dad passed.
Music, including your Dad's was such a HUGE part of our lives. We turned each other on to so much music. There was no genre that was off limits. When she was 2, I turned her onto Louis Armstrong, Sound Garden, Metallica, Ramones, etc... She turned me onto Barney's Yum Yum Pumpernickle, Pumpernickle Bread. Eventually she turned me onto so much cool music. Her love for music never stopped.
What you and your Dad had was beautiful and special. It can't be taken away from you. He was a great man. I know a Father's love. Nothing compares to you or Cassidy... I'm told we will eventually be OK.
Although we are at opposite ends, the loss and longing for 1 more hug and 1 more kiss is the same. I wish you were here so I could give you a hug. Please take care of yourself. Hug and kiss your family every chance you get.

This could not be more true. I'm just some guy in a town no one cares about, who listened to your father's music and was inspired by it. I don't delude myself into thinking I KNEW him; I never met him. But he was unknowingly the greatest teacher I've ever had. And there are a million of me, spread out all over the world who can say the same. Your voice is incredible already and you're still so young. Keep the gift alive. Toni..please listen to your Dads old interviews. Like all of them..what were his musical influences. Stay taking vocal lessons read all poetry from the poets he enjoyed and you enjoy. Listen and stay in tune to what going on in the world and the world of music. Finish yoir education. Live and enjoy love when you become of age and you are ready. Lose the love then write about it. Take the heartache..pain..life..death.. wrap it into a melody but never try to be your Dad..be yourself. You have it in you to become a whole planet yourself. Not just the hole of the black hole sun and stand in its shadow. Share your songs with us..allthough us common folks are not worthy. Be that grunge rock princess and later on queen we all hear you are🙂 I still think and listen to your Dads music everyday and i know many more do. So just know legends never die..he isnt lost but found. Its hard i know lost my mother but the mornings will get better. Even when in the first seconds when you wake up and hade a dream about him you still think he is just in the other room. Then fully awake realize its sadly not so. It will get better and you cant shake off this bad dream that he is gone. But you will get better in time with coping with the loss. Cry when needed and know you will see him again. I see my mother sometimes when i look at pictures of myself and im not striking a pose. Or see my son (4) smile at me or just making funny faces like my Mother did. Biggest regret is i never saw your Dad preform live but i will make it up and when your ready to take on the stage and the world..watch you sing live. And i will root you on. I was just thinking about him and listened to some Temple of the Dog songs. That album was made for Andrew Wood. I wish they’d do a tribute album for Chris. Tragic how it all comes full circle but Chris deserves an album in his honor. He’s played with enough musicians to make it legendary. And honestly Temple of the Dog Is one of the best albums ever to me.
As tears fall, this angelic voice is Chris's gift to us, his voice no doubt, yet his little Dandelion is a voice unmatched, the female version of his phenomenal voice we all will never forget. If you never believed in God, you will believe in Chris Cornell and this sweet talent, the sparkle in his eye, the joy in his heart, his Toni. Prince’s words and music, should be credited on this recording. I hope “Team CC” will give Prince the respect he deserves, by adding his name here and on iTunes.
I agree with your statement, the music just by it self, made by prince, is amazing. The thing here is: given the circumstances that Chris left us about one year ago just gives the song another meaning and different feeling, especially if you love Cornell's music! And yes, of course Prince has the credits for having wrote this beautifull piece of art and everyone knows it, but I think when music is composed in its true means it becomes something that belongs to everyone, and as long as people respect it I dont see anything wrong with doing a cover of it. :)
I agree- music is one of the few things that can make me emotional. Certain songs can bring me to tears... It reminds me I'm human after all. Sometimes I start to feel a bit numb.

John Tootoosis i actually lost my oldest brother to cancer back in October of 2000, i was in the room when he took his last breath, that was tough too. I was 11 then, he was 17.

I found my father on the floor and this was in april 2013 I still haven't got the chance to spread his ashes … but this cornell nothing compares has become a song I think of him too and its just a heartbreak that life has to be that way sometimes
