He toured on his own later in life and played his songs from Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Audioslave, and his own solo records. He also did a lot of great covers, like this one. A lot of depth to his lyrics, and a lot of emotion in his voice. Unfortunately the pain got the better of him.
To the living, I am gone To the sorrowful, I will never return To the angry, I was cheated But to the happy, I am at peace and to the faithful, I have never left I cannot speak, But i can be heard So, as you stand upon a shore, Gazing at a beautiful sea, Remember me. As you look in awe at a mighty forest and it's grand majestry, Remember me. Remember me in your hearts, your thoughts and your memories of the times we loved; the timed we cried; the times we fought; For if you always think or me, I will have never gone.

Lyrics: Shed a tear 'cause I'm missing you I'm still alright to smile Girl, I think about you every day now Was a time when I wasn't sure You set my mind at ease There ain't no doubt you're in my heart now Said woman, take it slow, it will work itself out fine All we need is just a little patience Said sugar, make it slow, we will come together fine All we need is just a little patience I sit here on the stairs I'd rather be alone If I can't have you right now, I'll wait, dear Sometimes it gets so tense I can't speed up the time But you know, love, there's one more thing to consider Said woman, take it slow and things will be just fine If you and I just use a little patience Said sugar, take the time, 'cause the lights are shining bright You and I got what it takes to make it, oh I've been walking these streets at night Just trying to get it right Hard to see with so many around You know I don't like being stuck in a crowd And the streets don't change but maybe the names You know I ain't got time for the games 'Cause I need you Yeah, I need you Said, woman, take it slow, it will work itself out fine All we need is just a little patience Said sugar, make it slow, we will come together fine All we need is just a little patience

John, have you watched any of Chris' oldest daughter Lily Cornell Silver on her IG show called Mind Wide Open? Its pretty good, its about dealing with depression and things her dad told her. She got the name for her show, (was launched on her dads would've been birthday), from some of her dads old lyrics.
I miss this man... I will miss him the rest of my life. He's had that kind of an impact on me, as did Layne Staley. They made up, and still make up a huge part of my personal soundtrack. Much love to them, and their families.
I agree. Every morning I wake up, I have the Man in the Box opening vocals. I told my husband and he laughed because knows he got me into AIC. So now if he wakes up before me he'll hum it to me too. Best way to start the day. I usually put on Hunger Strike when I first get in the car to go to work.
As someone who tries to be scientifically minded, that quote strikes me as false, but in a positive way...I'll explain: It is a fact of life that everyone will one day die, and the memories of them will eventually fade as those who remember die and the sheer amount of people and information being generated makes it impossible to remember everyone. But it doesn't matter, the fact that they existed, that they were a link in the chain of humanity, that they had influence in their time, even if only on a small number of people or a small physical location is absolutely integral to the changes that spiral out in a butterfly effect that alters the state of all connected matter through time to create our reality. We remember the Einsteins, but without the parents, teachers, friends, colleagues, acquaintances, and both physical and intellectual roads paved before him by the forgotten, we wouldn't have him. The forgotten are still here in every person, every atom, every interaction, and every moment...I like to think of it as a kind of conservation of energy in regards to the evolution of humanity...
I think Chris was one in a billion and his voice carried that sadness and darkness we all feel and lived with so we could realize what ever joy we could find in life!!!

Unfortunately his wife is proving to be too greedy for that. It upsets me because she just doesn't seem to get the collaboration of a band and they have just as much right to the music (if not more) than her and his estate! Considering she doesn't even acknowledge his oldest child, I can't see her compromising with his band mates!
I wish the Widow would get hit by a birkin bag ...

Lily we love you and your father loved you the most in this earth. Never give up, there is no darkness that last forever. Even if some people want to erase you or hurt you, you will never be alone. Chris and your mom and all your loved ones are behind and beside you.
I can't believe them not including Lily : ( She is his first child.... We love you Lily!!!!
😪😪💔💔 That's messed up not to include his TWIN! Lily looks just like him 💖 Im sure there was ALOT of jealousy toward his baby girl Lily but she is beautiful strong and has an amazing mother to guide her in life thankfully 💖

Just like Jeff Buckley... Chris Cornell is one of those people that can touch any song and make it special. Eventhough this kind of acoustic-hip hop wouldn't be an option for many songs because of that "let classics be classics", this version sounds really great.
We will always miss Chris!
Exactly 💯💓

Hi Dolores, hope you’re okay?
To remove his first child Lily from his memory is so cruel. She is mourning too and deserves just as much recognition and sympathy from his fans.
Why was she removed?
@@KG-wp6gh because Chris' widow is an evil narcissist who isolated him from his own family and always treated his first daughter like shit

I am so sorry...😔
So sorry for your loss.
I am so sorry for your loss. I lost my uncle last week, too. :(
Your uncle probably knows it from Guns n Roses
I lost my dad this month, and man he loved Chris Cornell. Wish I would've known this was out before he passed. He would have loved to have heard it.
I'm sorry for your loss
my condolences.... :(
He was still very privilaged as we all are here to have known Chris' music.
Maybe he’s hearing it somewhere.
Sorry for your loss. Lost my mum in February. Hugs to you. ❤
My heart breaks a little more every time I hear his voice.
I'll Never forget seeing him live at Carnegie Hall! Just him acoustic! Singing the greatest songs ever! What an unforgettable night!!! Miss him so much!!! Happy Birthday!!!
Wow! Unfortunately, i never realized just who he was and what an icon he is and how incredibly talented his voice was. I want to be him exceot alive.
@April 2520 Wow, you are just discovering him! Lucky you, you are in for a treat! Enjoy. I recommend Chris's acoustic, solo stuff.
I am not jealous of many in this world, but I am extremely jealous of you! What a treat that must have been and what a great memory.

Every time he hits the chorus, the song feels like a mellow thunderstorm.
Rest in peace Chris Cornell.
To the living, I am gone
To the sorrowful, I will never return
To the angry, I was cheated
But to the happy, I am at peace
and to the faithful, I have never left
I cannot speak, But i can be heard
So, as you stand upon a shore,
Gazing at a beautiful sea, Remember me.
As you look in awe at a mighty forest
and it's grand majestry, Remember me.
Remember me in your hearts, your thoughts
and your memories of the times we loved;
the timed we cried; the times we fought;
For if you always think or me,
I will have never gone.

Lyrics:
Shed a tear 'cause I'm missing you
I'm still alright to smile
Girl, I think about you every day now
Was a time when I wasn't sure
You set my mind at ease
There ain't no doubt you're in my heart now
Said woman, take it slow, it will work itself out fine
All we need is just a little patience
Said sugar, make it slow, we will come together fine
All we need is just a little patience
I sit here on the stairs
I'd rather be alone
If I can't have you right now, I'll wait, dear
Sometimes it gets so tense
I can't speed up the time
But you know, love, there's one more thing to consider
Said woman, take it slow and things will be just fine
If you and I just use a little patience
Said sugar, take the time, 'cause the lights are shining bright
You and I got what it takes to make it, oh
I've been walking these streets at night
Just trying to get it right
Hard to see with so many around
You know I don't like being stuck in a crowd
And the streets don't change but maybe the names
You know I ain't got time for the games
'Cause I need you
Yeah, I need you
Said, woman, take it slow, it will work itself out fine
All we need is just a little patience
Said sugar, make it slow, we will come together fine
All we need is just a little patience
kinda late dude, it's 2021 now.

Why Chris , why Chester , and everyone else why you will be missed and in my heart forever never forgotten legends of rock
Chris was murdered as he was gonna expose pedos since cracking the black book, Chester was a victim of molestation as a kid and he shared this through his great friendship with Chris..... Chester was never the same after Chris died and well..... he went home, they both were gonna expose the disgusting world of pedophilia by many top shelf Elites
because they knew to much of the child molestation
Wth how can you say that shit they left cuz of depression issues but I guess people will say anything when their not here to defend themselves

@@johndominguez4219 i agree with you. They will be forever missed. And yes, Chris and Chester both suffered with depression, sadly.
Hey gave us his soul with every strum and outshined the sun.
Words can’t really describe how much I miss hearing his voice
How do you miss hearing his voice when it’s available anytime you wanna hear it.
That's something his kids would say, he left his voice to all of us.
I miss this man... I will miss him the rest of my life. He's had that kind of an impact on me, as did Layne Staley. They made up, and still make up a huge part of my personal soundtrack. Much love to them, and their families.
I’m crying now
I'm right there with you about Chris and Layne.
I agree. Every morning I wake up, I have the Man in the Box opening vocals. I told my husband and he laughed because knows he got me into AIC. So now if he wakes up before me he'll hum it to me too. Best way to start the day. I usually put on Hunger Strike when I first get in the car to go to work.
Shed some tears cause Im missing you tonight Chris
As it says on the glass... A man only dies if he is forgotten. NEVER, Chris. NEVER. 2021
Who?

Prince or Scott Weiland?
He's the only celeb who made me cry. Others made me sad for sure, but I couldn't hold back the tears when he died.
