Cornell had absolutely EVERYTHING: talent, vulnerability, volume, extension, range, mastery and a lot of technique.
He could write songs like no one else, sing them in a way that no one else could, one of the greatest voices not only in rock, but in the history of music.
He was a legend, one of today's most sensitive and dedicated artists.

Chris, I never cared about celebrities. Even when they died it was "oh that sucks." I found out you died at 7:05am. I had just started my shift. It ruined my whole day, and I thought about it regularly for over a week. I realized I listened to your music so much because it was so relatable, it felt like it was my own words. You made an impact on me that no other celebrity could even come close to. Rest in Peace, man. No one sings like you anymore.

I feel exactly the same..I met many bands and famous ppl through work, some socially. GnR, Slash, Duff McKagen FNM, Patton, Jim Martin, Bottom, Kurt Cobain (though he was not speaking to anyone being unwell) No ppl he was not depressed or suicidal. Later C.Love.(what a fucking mess) REM..Peter Gabriel many more. I don't like to have regrets but the 3 or 4 opportunities I had to meet Chris. I couldn't go from the situation at that time in my life controlling me( i was young)but I will always regret not pushing on back, being stronger than the jealous older mean spirited bastard I wasted 3 precious yrs with, and going. I get a stab of pain in my heart that I missed my chances to say Thank You to Chris for his music!! And maybe have a talk about his songs and his views about life..This will forever and always be my biggest and only regret....Lord knows. R.I.P. Brother 💜

I'm so happy I re-discovered this song and band. The guitar riff in the versus are so intoxicating. The vocals are restrained and teetering and the guitars even the solo are just excellent. Video is so cinematic and captures a moment in time.

I'm a 69 yr old guy who grew up with music from Beatles, Stones, Zeppelin, Deep Purple. . . . So am relatively a new listener to this particular group, but have been a huge fan of Chris Cornell from the first time I heard THAT VOICE. So much soul and heart pours out whether it's a ballad or pushing his voice to the limits. What a shame for this talent to be absent from our world. As another comment said- R.I.P. That our "Self" is defined in relation to the "Self" of others, with time, complexity, and causality creating the unique human that we all are, built from the little pieces of others we meet along the way...at least that's what I've gathered so far in my 35 years...

My heart is broken. I cant imagine what his family and friends must be going through, my thoughts are with with them, I hope that they're given privacy and let to mourn properly without disruption. Its so hard to accept that hes gone right now. His music got me through so many hard times in my life, its so excruciating to find out that he wasnt able win his final battle; but so often those who were born with the gift to help many, find they are unable to help themselves. :( Rest In Peace Chris, your spirit and message will live on in the hearts of the billions of people whos lives you've touched.

My dead ex stepfather who always listened to Audioslave died to cocaine addiction in 2007... sad so sad RIP both of you. He Oded because my mom divorced him and he turned to drugs hardcore after that, she divorced him because of his drug and alcohol habits but he was great fun and funny guy, and Chris was too.

I spoke to some younger men around 21 years old. I told them some game Being yourself is all you can be. I live in downtown of a city and when I walk down, I get people shaking my hands, good interactions because I'm respected. I treat people with respect, even drug dealers, people that run gangs hug me. They respect someone that themselves. Integrity being honest is everything.

Been my fav since the first time I heard em. I’m so glad Soundgarden and Rage Against the Machine broke up when they did. Chris with Tom and crew is a blessing to all who hear em.
