    ABOUT…
    I am Rebecca and I am one heck of a passionate vocal coach/singer/songwriter/impressionist/health/fitness/self- improvement/anything that makes me smile!! I love anything vocal/singing related and geek out on it every day. I want to motivate and inspire others to follow their dreams…corny? Well maybe but it’s true. So what’s motivating me?? I had a huge tumour removed summer 2017 and my ovaries and fallopian tubes. The tumour was the size of a 20 week baby!! However, despite not being able to walk for a couple of weeks, and feeling generally awful…. It has made me create and do what I love! It wasn’t an easy time but I won’t let fear dictate my life. I didn’t think ‘why me’, there are plenty of horrific issues people have to deal with…it’s not always smooth sailing. It’s true when you hear, ‘Life is short’, the crazy thing is, I am glad it happened…I appreciate life even more and practice gratitude everyday…It’s so easy to get caught up with the little things…and I do sometimes, but look at the bigger picture, will it matter in a year or two…?
    Also thank you for all your support. It means a lot.

    Have a great day!!

    I remember being younger and suffering severe depression and anxiety, feeling like "others have it worse so just get on with it" and also feeling so immensely alone, like no one could possibly have what I have... And these days, soooo many people are talking about it, talking about their experiences and how essentially, we've all had the same emotions going on, regardless of what specifics had us feeling them... And it's honestly so encouraging, just to see and hear people say they have or have had anxiety and or depression, and how it's actually quite normal and that there is help to get out there. So thank you for adding your voice!

      In our mass media world, I think a small minority of people get wrapped up in a "drama competition" and they don't realize that they're stifling the voice of so many others who want legitimate help but are afraid to speak up. It seems like the giant productions deserve more attention so why would anyone care about my tiny problem?
      A tiny problem is still a problem. A tiny stone in your shoe affects everything you do all day.
      Everyone deserves help and healthy attention and we should all encourage people to seek that help.
      Thank you, nattitude, for posting this. You are part of the solution. When the smaller voices recognize that they can get help like you have, it breaks down the barriers to their recovery.

      Tried to kill myself once, suffer depression on and off.....music and talking helped, and still does.
      Humans have become selfish....and frown on cries for help. Some are too proud to ask for help.
      Lending a shoulder and listening can or could save a life....
      I read that bit about you Becca....very personal, total respect for being so open about it.
      Your videos are so funny and cheeky, and I love it when a singer takes your breath away. Your positivity is infectious....you are a gem xx

    • @lucyferina
      @lucyferina 5 лет назад +1

      nattitude the thing that I don't understand is the fact that a lot of those that ended up killing themselves were well off financially, which meant that if they didn't like their life the way it was they could have easily changed it, a luxury that most people don't have. I can understand how someone may feel trapped in a dead end job and an unhappy marriage for example but the celebrities doing it were in a position to change and basically start over at any time, they selfishly chose not to, ignoring the fact that it affected all those left behind,. I lost all respect for him and for Chester Bennington, and for anybody that feels like their life sucks when they are making millions ( Prince) try to get through what poor people have to and then talk to me about being depressed....gtfoh!

    • @pondersome
      @pondersome 5 лет назад +20

      @@lucyferina I totally understand where you're coming from. Robin Williams had everything most people dream of. Anthony Bourdain was traveling the world. But it was pointed out to me that for all the money and fame, famous people live very secluded lives. Eminem has talked about having fans pester him for autographs while he was in a bathroom stall using the toilet. They can't go anywhere. They can't do anything. The paparazzi posts every private detail about them whether it's true or not. Crowds hunt them down wherever they go.
      I've watched people wither away and die from depression; family members killing themselves, people I'd known for all or most of my life.
      Severe depression is a vicious condition that strips everything; dignity, awareness, concern, and it doesn't discriminate against social status or wealth. I loved my sister. She got her degree from New York Institute of Art & Design. She worked on movie sets in New York. She owned her own fashion boutique and designed custom dresses for wealthy people in one of the wealthiest areas in the country. She was reduced to rocking back and forth, crying, and absolutely terrified of nothing at all. She was overwhelmed with terror and had no idea why. She killed herself because she couldn't bear the years of torture it was putting her through.
      And yes, you'd think with all that money and fame, they could afford a great therapist and get away from it but realistically, it's just not that easy.

      It's true he has the complete male vocal range, over 4 octaves, but he can literally hit any not he's ever wanted to hit. It's very likely he hit notes in practice that weren't recorded that would put him at the 5-6 octave range as he seems to have zero limits to his ability.

    I don't think he THOUGHT about singing this song. His presentation is literal, straight from his heart, his heartbreak. He's lived this song numerous times in his life, in his most significant relationships, in the most significant relationship in his all too short life. I've been where he needed to be to do this. It's as painful, as broken, as lost, as lonely and desperately hurt and as beautiful as it sounds in every note, every word. I'm happy to say that I am not there anymore. It is very bittersweet to think that Chris is not there anymore either.

    The loss of Chris Cornell was and is still so devastating for me personally. His voice is not only heard by my ears, but also resonates within my heart. Upon his death I immersed myself in his music that got me through some of the toughest times growing up.
    His cover of this song is so powerful yet painful all the same. The foreshadowing of him taking his own life was always there., His pain could be felt when heard, his pain could be felt when his lyrics were read. You were one of a kind, the world lost a brilliant artist when it lost you.
    Just an excerpt from my favorite song of his, if only we could have read between the lines.
    (Like a Stone)
    On a cob web afternoon,
    In a room full of emptiness
    By a freeway I confess
    I was lost in the pages of a book full of death;
    Reading how we'll die alone.
    And if we're good we'll lay to rest,
    Anywhere we want to go.
    ...
    ...
    ...
    ...
    And on my deathbed I will pray to the gods and the angels,
    Like a pagan to anyone who will take me to heaven;
    To a place I recall, I was there so long ago.
    The sky was bruised, the wine was bled, and there you led me on.
    Rest in Peace Chris....

      K v I agree. That song is filled with so much symbolism. It gets ya’ right in the feels.

    Chris was a hero of mine. Absolute masterpiece. He evokes emotional as deep as Bocelli. My Italian blood can't take it ❤

    It's the best redition on so many levels. I'm a grown man and rarely get emotional. I'm not embarrassed to say this had me in tears the first time I heard it.

    In every walk of life some people are talented enough to do it a way that doesn't seem possible for everyone else.
    Chris as sitting down and making it look that easy is one of those examples.

    Bawled like a baby all the way through this. Great reaction Rebecca and your talk about depression and anxiety at the end was spot on. I turn 50 in June and my earliest recollection of depression was when I was 5! I didn't know what it was, but I do now because I know what to look for. The pain is always present, but I think it only wins if I let it push me to end it. Don't let it win. Seek help if/when you need it.

    having the strings in the back round just makes the mood. I wish he had a true friend in his life to give him a reason to go on. God he was talented. you can only give so much before you need emotional support
