Without a doubt his playing has got sharper in just the last few years, watching this video and 'War inside my head/subliminal' clip from sickdrummer, Dave's playing has gotten more precise, more articulate; I would be willing to bet he has been doing something to have this effect on his playing. Whatever it is, its working.

Dave plays for the music where most drummers play for themselves and to prove their technicality! That's why he'll always be king - he's pushing 50 but look at how honest and true he is to the kind of music genres he gets into - ST + Dead Cross to name a few - the inspiration i need :))

I am not a drummer but the thing that really impresses me about Dave Lombardo is the apparent looseness he employs while simultanesouly attacking his kit for all its / it's worth. This seems to enable him to move so freely around the kit whilst playing at a blistering pace and so accurately. Also, he seems to really be having fun. One of the greatest metal drummers still rasing his game. Hats off.
Finally back w/ Tama, the beautiful starclassic line. He was up in the air for awhile, ddrums,Ludwig, dw drums, fibes( I think). Glad he has come full circle.
If you're wondering why Dave looks like he's having so much fun in ST and DeadCross, I think its because 1. He doesnt have to deal with stupid monetary drama and 2. If you didnt know Dave was always into punk/hardcore over metal back when he joined Slayer. This is his roots baby!
You are a versatile player! I would really like to see you back in Slayer, but I don't see it happening with King being in charge of things. I can't fucking stand the guy myself. My dream band: Mustaine, Hetfield, Araya, Lombardo. Talk about a kick ass combo!
