Learn how to play Chess the right way from beginner to master level. National Master Robert Ramirez will take you up the pyramid by following a proven Chess training program he has been improving and implementing for over 10 years.
    Benefits of Playing Chess:
    - Promotes brain growth
    - Increases problem-solving skills
    - It exercises both sides of the brain
    - Raises your IQ
    - Sparks your creativity
    - Teaches planning and foresight
    - Teaches patience and concentration
    - Optimizes memory improvement
    - Improves recovery from stroke or disability
    - Helps treat ADHD
Chess is an intellectual battle where players are exposed to numerous mental processes such as analysis, attention to detail, synthesis, concentration, planning and foresight. Psychological factors are also present on and off the board; playing Chess stimulates our imagination and creativity. Every single move a player makes is the result of a deep analysis based on the elements presented on the battlefield.
Chess in its essence teaches us psychological, sociological and even moral values. In a Chess game, both players start with the same amount of material and time. The fact that the white pieces move first is considered to be practically irrelevant -especially because a player typically plays one game as white and one game as black. Consequently, the final result of the battle solely depends on each player. It doesn’t matter if you win by taking advantage of your opponent’s mistakes or by simply avoiding mistakes yourself. Truth is that Chess is an extremely individual sport and our defeats can only be blamed on ourselves and no one else. And this, in the end, only benefits us because we learn to be and feel responsible for our actions and never come up with excuses to justify ourselves.
We also learn that when it comes to our victories on the board, our opponent's mistakes play a more significant role than our own skills. Let’s not forget that a Chess game without any mistakes would be a draw. This way, Chess provides us with another valuable life lesson: be humble at all times.

Appreciate all the lessons so far.. especially how you take it slow and explain the rationale for everything in an easy to digest manner. For example, taking a few minutes to explain "what if they take dxc6", it's not a distraction it really helps me understand.
Anyway, I'm now really excited whenever I play black because I can apply the lessons. The stats are telling me I win more with black than with white, which is unusual =)) My rating is improving too. Muchas gracias mi profe!

When I face Bg5 I normally break with c5 and transpose into a Benoni type of position. I’ve gotten good results but I’d really rather play the KID than a Benoni.
I just tried c6 and Na6-c7-e6 to counter Bg5, then e5, and it worked great. Easy game. Thanks for these videos.

Hi Robert! Regarding the move order at 10:50. "Some people like to play Nh3 first" - well, if you do that, you can get the Knight to f2 one move earlier, which will defend against Black's variations after b4.

If I defend with h4 they just plant a knight on g5 and it's annoying... With the bishop on c4 it gets too dangerous... • @angel_machariel
    @angel_machariel 3 года назад

Just to make sure, the game Ramirez played with white's a3 in the first example is not the Aaverbakh, but the Bagirov. The Bagirov is designed to force g2-g4 through the opponents throat.
The second game with Be2 and Bg5 is the actual Averbakh, designed to scare blacks with an early Qc2-Bg5 setup to demolish black's KID pride.
Note that both offer black's ...Na6 as an important strategic response (others are more tactical). Also note that according the source below, both openings require one or more sacrifices to make their attack work! So they have interesting things in common!
And now the sources for my knowledge: Modernized King's Indian Defense by Dejan Bojkov.
Get that book if you're KID player. It's up-to-date but KID is not for novice players. Just a heads up. I"m about 1750 on lichess (1500 real life) and gave up on it and restarted again many times lol.

    Hi Robert,
I don´t like your theory about well coordinated blacks position in this variation - after 12. ... cxd5? White will not play for any reason the move you show in your video-lesson 13. cxd5? but 13. Nxd5! and black is pinned and cramped without possibility to release himself anyhow. By my opinion this 13th move only disaccords black pieces and they will have to stay in so annoying cramped position and wait for miracle. Do you have any antidote to this clever white´s reply?

    For me..
I want to play with Qe8 first before b5..
I want to play with control games..
Zero counter play for my opponent..
While i have some plenty of options use..
    We have same repertoire 🥰
    But after Bg5 i play Na6 first before 0-0..
I want to see what white wants to play..
Then i choose if i break with c5 or e5..
But must of the time i play with the spirit of kid rather to shift to binoni/benko...
This materials helps to promote the KID..

What I like about your lessons is every time I go, what about this move from my opponent?, you cover it and usually in sufficient depth. This is something I miss on other channels regularly, because I know from experience no move is too crazy for some opponents and the reply is not always clear because confusion is a weapon too. Having said this, did you, or can you cover the topic of hiding intentions? What I mean by this is that if you set up an attack or trap too obviously/directly the opponent won't fall for it, because they recognize the pattern too easily. This is where I disagree with the computer lines sometimes. I think yes, that is maybe the best move, but I play against humans and am not a computer! That's why I didn't play that move immediately dear Stockfish. I hope you get my drift.

Of course, Doug! I think I can talk about that whenever possible in future lessons. I made a note 👍 Anyways, this is a concept you will understand better as you improve your Chess in general.

Lost games in the averbakh 😅 I got scared when they castle kingside and they start pushing the pawns in front of the king sometimes their king stays in the center and they just go all out ..... Thanks for this.
And the pawn push in kid is failing everytime they bring defenders in time 😕
