I really wonder if brands have a lot of product in transit and delayed, so they aren’t releasing it until it’s landed and they can guarantee a launch date. In my industry we are seeing delays of 4 months on shipping times. Potentially a September ship might not arrive to warehouses until January. I’m wondering if we will see very holiday looking collections start rolling out in January/feb as “winter” collections
A little insight in the melt cosmetics collection. I’m from the same state that Lora one of the owners of melt is from in Mexico. The butterflies aside from the symbolic meaning is also a huge part of the state of Michoacán. Butterflies migrate in the winter months to Michoacán. It’s actually quite a sight to behold if you ever have the luck to visit a butterfly sanctuary. The heart and thorns is also a very prevalent image in Mexico. I have been on a no buy for over a year now but this collection just made me fold. The images the meaning of the collection really pulled at my heart strings. I ended up ordering both palettes 😆
I wish brands would sell specialised good quality packaging that can be sold empty, and can be re-use, if the package is more generic shape/size, it can be used with other brands products as refills.
Oh my god, I know right. Even if it was just a powder it would be so much better. My mother owns a Stratton compact, that was her grandmothers and all I think every time I see it is I wish there was some kind of mechanism that meant you could use any pressed powder with a compact. It would just be so much better for the environment. I don’t think they did everything right in the past, but prior to the widespread usage of plastic there was so much that people did and companies did that enabled consumers to reuse things.
@@xXPirate-KittyXx I agree about Grandmothers compacts! Brands keeping pumping out packaging that is appealing so people buy more of it, but they miss the mark every time. Perhaps a company should just specialise in beautiful re-useable packaging that will fit any brand's refill!

Supply chain is really behind this year. Due to the virus taking over last year, orders are already behind from manufacturers and shipping containers are taking up to 90 days to make it to port compared to what was normal prior which was 30 days. For the US, due to tariffs and restrictions with lockdowns in China, pricing and shipping has gone up and sales are not as great anymore. The highest percentage off so far was 40%. I’m stocking up on skincare and haircare and trying to buying more products made where I am to help support local businesses, save on shipping and guarantee gifts arrive before December. Otherwise I’m risking them not arriving
@@fridawarnemyr6025 Airplane shipping is ideal for national orders. International shipping by ship is for huge bulk orders, 5000+ units. Also, regarding cost, it is dependent on the number of units included - since airplanes carry less, the value is not as good as ships, hence why it is more expensive to pay for product that is shipped by airplane vs. ship. The only thing that helps keep pricing down is to have pre-orders on products because businesses can order to fulfill demand based on actual sales. Most brands are not doing this though, they are relying on accounts to determine sales, not directly with consumers.
One of our suppliers assures me they have stock, but no palettes to ship it on. A lot of drug companies are expediting stock via air freight just to be able to keep availability, especially on some more niche lines. And that doesn't touch on factory downturn due to social distancing or forced closures, nor the higher demand for direct to home shopping.
@@naesynaenae9385 have no idea about drug companies but it would make sense for them to rely of air shipping since medical supplies are always in demand. The fancy candle brands fancy, overpriced candle topper is actually based on traditional Scandinavian holiday decor. The Richard Glaesser ones are quite famous and well known. You can definitely get ones that will top other brands candles but the vast majority use tea lights... some use tapers. It kind of bothers me that they don't acknowledge where the inspiration came from.
Was just gonna say that. Definitely not their idea, we used to have one like this 30 years ago already here in Switzerland, and its also a traditional German/western european thing. I have a small one for a little tea light that is super cute and it cost maybe… 7$? Definitely recommend checking out the internet for them before getting this insanely overpriced one from Diptyque.
Holiday releases I’m most excited for are the new singles from Terra Moons & Devinah. Would love holiday palettes from Nabla and Kaleidos! The Nabla duos look pretty and festive too. Also excited to see what Auric’s holiday release is.
The diptyque candle carousel is something that's being sold, here in Europe, on Christmas markets since always. But They have definitely made it luxe and desirable, with their marketing, whereas here it was considered a bit old-fashioned and something only your grandma would buy, or you would get for someone for secret Santa.
I went for both Laneige lip mask packs. They were a new discovery this past year along with Summer Fridays vanilla lip butter balm and I love both. I go through an insane amount of lip balms yearly though because I cannot handle dry lips and have also gotten my husband addicted so we will tear through these packs. The pack of five small scents were great too because I was able to gift one to my daughter.
Many of us caught the makeup bug at the same time, around 2016 when there was so much room for new stuff. Most of us don’t want or need 90% of the shit that’s out there because we already have it or it’s been done over and over and over
Yes factories haven't been able to catch up for all the brands they develop products for. It's going to be 2023 before we start to see some really great innovative products.
Christmas 2012 was the peak for me. It was the first time Nars put out a cheek palette and everyone lost their minds. Tarte had a great cheek palette that year. It was the first year I was into the beauty community so the novelty was real. Every year since has been same same.
I think there is still quite many holiday releases, but I agree that there is much more emphasis on value sets rather than special edition releases with the holiday packaging.
I’m shocked at how much everyone loves the Chantacaille holiday packaging?!? I find it to look so outdated and old fashioned. It very much reminds me of something Estée Lauder would have released in the early ‘80s. I just don’t get the appeal.
I was watching many Advent calendar unboxing and how you said- so many stickers/useless things/minis... And then I saw KIKO Milano calendar and there were 3 or 4 such items, everything else was full sized.
After that Travis concert where 8 people died and I knew 2 of them... Her and that brand are dead to me. She filmed the ambulance going through the crowd and said the next day she didn't know anything was happening in the crowd. Dispicable.
I answered the IG sticker with value sets and didn’t bother saying which one I was excited for (Laura mercier iconic essentials) bc I thought it’s pretty boring and specific to my wants lol. It has items I’ve been wanting to try from the brand but never pulled the trigger bc I’ve always had decent drugstore versions of the same products. Excited to get what I want for a value price!
Hope Louie the Fly 🪰 met the woman with a can. I've bought the Farmacy value pack for my husband to give me 🤣 and some nail products. The Nars blush pallet looks intriguing. Selling our home so no space to buy anything else. You're both looking great!
It's a great scent, not a sharp peppermint, but a sweet peppermint. Almost like wedding mints? Could also be called candy cane I suppose. I was unsure about that and excited for gingerbread, but that one smells nothing like gingerbread. It's a fairly generic caramel scent. It needs actual ginger and spice or some cinnamon to be gingerbread. 😕
LOVE your honesty, humor and bad-ass-ness. If you have time I would love to hear what both of you are desiring as a gift this year and what you would love to gift. Cheers to you both and much love, health and all the success you can handle this season and in the new year...Sharon
Interesting that you seemed to like the Chanel Advent calendar. Have you seen what’s in it. I saw an unboxing and it’s an absolute shocker. Only a couple of perfume bottles and lipsticks. The rest seems to be tat, including a few boxes of stickers!
I'm so interested in the Nars Holiday stuff and Nars in general after buying that smokey Climax 9 pan they released prior to holiday. Absolutely stunning quality eyeshadows 👏
I got one of those candle carousel things in a Harry Potter subscription box lol. It’s a bunch of gold owls hanging down and when the candle burns it looks like they’re flying. Very cute! I’ve bought the farmacy cleansing balm pack and the essence lash princess multi pack so far.
About 5 years ago my aunt got a shiny golden candle mobile. It was a gift with purchase. It‘s very fragile, super thin, keeping the absolute balance is essential when putting the pieces together (pendants are Christmas trees and cherubs and they’re not permanently fixed to the other parts) otherwise it all collapses. Me, my brother and my cousin love to watch it spin and can‘t keep our fingers off, manipulating direction and speed just like we were still kids instead of almost 40 years old 😄 of course resulting in several entertaining „repairs“ on Christmas eve 🎄 until my aunt gets mad. It‘s quite similar to playing Der heiße Draht (I think it‘s called to Don‘t Buzz The Wire⚡️). I‘ve seen similar candle toppers sold for about 10€, while the traditional wooden Christmas pyramids from the Ore Mountains region in the eastern part of Germany can be really expensive. In some cities you can walk through impressive 10-15 meters high outdoor Christmas pyramids during holiday season, those are stunning. Are they as popular in Australia as they are in Germany?
I cannot find a proper name for it but the thing that Diptyque have done is actually based on some pretty old Northern (and also western/southern) European traditions from a loooong time ago. There are many of them to buy for any standard tealight that are super cute and maybe only like 7$, so def check that out before buying one from Diptyque. We kinda call the small ones “tealight carousel” ☺️☺️
We have a little Christmas candle thing where the heat turns a little mobile with reindeer on it that we bought at a Christmas market in Germany in the 90s. I think they have been around for a loooooong time lol.
Love the fiery red you guys are in 🔥🔥!! And awesome beauty news as always. The only beauty products I’m buying is skincare (and only if replacing an empty lol!). With the cost of gas & good going up & messages regarding the environment…. It truly blots out most of my urges. But I still watch & enjoy industry news. Thanks a lot 💕🔥💕🔥!!!
I somehow forgot about Nars's holiday collections when you asked the question LOL which is weird because you're right they DO go all in for holiday. I do also pay attention to Pat McGrath's collections, whether I want them or not. I'm just burning out on all makeup right now, which is good honestly, so nothing is suuuuper exciting to me either. But I agree. I want some special pretty packaging and something in it that's special and unique too that I can keep for a long time. The MAC single eyeshadows like the Shiny Pretty Things ones are definitely that type of product. But so much else that comes out... just isn't.. And that's disappointing.
those spinny gold candle toppers can be bought for cheap online & with different patterns and images so if you really want one shop around first! the kind I have has a little tray under it & the mobile is suspended from a little stick so any candle that fits in the tray will work perfectly. I suppose I could also turn the stick the other way and have a larger candle under it but I think then it doesn’t get the even heat that helps it spin. either way, that brand is totally overpricing that which probably cost them cents each to have made.
Also, about the candles, my mom used to be obsessed with partylite candles and sets and we always had ones that spun like a mobile from heat. I remember we had a haunted house one that had a ghost in the chimney that spun around, and i think there was also a spinning Christmas tree. I loved them
I’ve missed you ladies!! It’s been such a crazy busy year for me especially at work (pharmacy accountant)! Finally taking vacation this week. It’s been so nice 🙌 Question!! Did you ever get to make your Makeup Themed Christmas tree?!
Those spin-y things on top of candles are really popular in Germany and you can find them really cheap in comparison to the ones you talked about (I’m talking about 15-40€, depending on how intricate and big you want them), I’m sure you could find them somewhere on the internets like etsy
Hello, beautiful ladies. I love hearing from you. The only thing I am interested for the holiday releases is the Too Faced lip kit. It is not scented and since I don’t like anything sweet scented I hesitated the previous years. I think the shipping situation has impacted the Christmas releases this year and probably the increase in prices in everything has made them reign in their releases. I have the lemon sorbet in a full size and it’s good but all the other scents I find them too sweet.
I really wish Hourglass was bringing back their lipsticks value packs. I love collecting them! Having said that, I'm actually loving their big face palette and have purchased it already because I felt like my one from 2016 was a bit old to keep using. Fingers crossed the lipstick packs are just stuck on a ship somewhere because I need them :)
This Holidays I’m not buying makeup bc gas is more $$$$, groceries are more $$$, and I’m more interested in making sure my kiddos have the toys they’re asking for on time. They’re more $$$ as well. Xmas makeup & personal desires for myself are LAST on my list. I can’t even think of anything I’d truly want anyway.💔
I think alot of it comes down to shipping issues globally. In my work we import from around the world, and we are seeing delays of 4 weeks plus just on shipping, not including manufacturing delays so it could be that they just won't land in time for the launch! We have had products which shipped in the summer (August) which have just arrived into the UK now at the end of November!
I picked up the Glamshop advent calendar and I'm really excited about it. I am waiting until Dec to crack it open, but it's supposed to be all eyeshadow singles!😄
Always love voting in the Beauty News awards, I haven't been paying a lot of attention to releases this year though since I've not had the time/energy for much YT, but I still voted based on what I could remember. 😂 And I feel like those candle spinners have been around for a long time, but mostly where you have a tealight instead of a scented candle jar. A tealight is more simple ofc but at least it doesn't just work with one specific candle brand. 😊
This was my first year purchasing anything from a holiday collection, I’ve been watching what’s released every year since 2016, but this is my first year working a full salaried job out of school so I decided to pick one thing up from the Sephora sale and I got the toofaced cinnamon bun? Or whatever it was lipstick after swatching it in store. I needed a new nude lipstick and it just seemed fun to wear for the season/year
Luv you gals! I’ve been spending all my moola on skincare the last year and some. Im doing a Kat pan challenge to use up all the partially used palettes and face stuff. I’ll be ready next year for a giant haul when all those brands needs to put those over stocks on sale! 😁😁
I'd be buying those sephora sample packs with multiple brands if sephora was available in my country. I don't buy a lot of high end stuff and I love those mini lipsticks from several brands. I did buy the Cult beauty 'more colour bauble' because it also has several brands in it: Natasha denona, milk, iconic london and huda beauty! All new brands for me. For a good price.
There is a Tarte mini eyeshadow palette set that was advertised in an Ulta catalog a few months ago. I have kept my eye out for it and can’t find it anywhere. I’m guessing it’s backlogged somewhere. Hoping it eventually comes out!
I got MAC Advent Calendar. Not too bad, I guess I paid 115 euros for it with a discount. And, oh, boy, it is good. I still had 3 sample like products, but the majority- full sized, great wearable colours, various textures. Glad I got it. I got myself MAC, Cult Beauty and eyeing the Essie one.
Glasshouse did this (whirligig thing) and it was pretty special ? 2019 came with their vanilla candle in very lovely special packaging, I bring it out every year ^_^ it makes me sentimental for Christmas when I was a kid, mum had something the you would put slim candles into that does the same thing
I actually bought that Tarte blush and highlight pack because I've never tried any of these from them. In that regard I think it's a good way to try a couple of things from a brand 😊 But yes overall the holiday releases are quite boring...
I saw the Hourglass face palettes in Sephora today. I’m so glad I didn’t order either one. They’re so small than what I expected by looking at the photos.
The one MAC release I miss and I think it was from the holidays was the Mariah Carey collection. The glitter packaging was so beautiful. The past two years I haven’t bought any holiday shit because it all sucks
Before it was shown, I was highly anticipating the Melt holiday collection and I was prepared to drop some serious coins. Honestly their collection this year doesn’t pull at my heart. I’m low key grateful that it doesn’t interest me so I’m saving a boat load of money.

Hailey, the fiery-phoenix hair is absolutely gorgeous on you!!
My grandma had HUGE spinny things like that. It came out for Christmas and it was nativity themed.
Hailey, your hair is FIRE!!! I love it!!
I feel so happy every time you do an upload! I enjoy my time with you a lot. Like 👍🏻 already before watching.
The laneige peppermint packs a punch. Love this year's episode ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I have been loving your hair Hailey this whole year.
Interesting that you seemed to like the Chanel Advent calendar. Have you seen what’s in it. I saw an unboxing and it’s an absolute shocker. Only a couple of perfume bottles and lipsticks. The rest seems to be tat, including a few boxes of stickers!
OMG, that Chanel calendar is such a joke!!!!!!
😳🙄 I just do not get the hype around Advent calendars
I'm so interested in the Nars Holiday stuff and Nars in general after buying that smokey Climax 9 pan they released prior to holiday. Absolutely stunning quality eyeshadows 👏
The “sunset” hair is everything! 🙌
I agree there have been so many Halloween palettes this year. Hopefully, more brands will bring out more collections at the last minute.
Really just sitting here appreciating Hailey's beautiful skittle manicure and lovely fiery hair!!! What a summer babe!! 😍😍😍 Xx
I got one of those candle carousel things in a Harry Potter subscription box lol. It’s a bunch of gold owls hanging down and when the candle burns it looks like they’re flying. Very cute! I’ve bought the farmacy cleansing balm pack and the essence lash princess multi pack so far.
A friend if mine got me an advent calendar for tea light scented candles it was the cutest thing
I am living for that read hair!! So pretty!! Worthy of a summer phoenix ❤️♥️❤️♥️
Beauty news award for this year is kind of hard… I don’t even have many products popping into my head off the bat cause most things were boring…
We have a little Christmas candle thing where the heat turns a little mobile with reindeer on it that we bought at a Christmas market in Germany in the 90s. I think they have been around for a loooooong time lol.
the little candle carrousels are traditional german christmas decorations. they come in all shapes and sizes.
MAC’s Holiday packaging makes my eyes hurt.
I agree with you guys, the holiday releases have been lacklustre this year.
those spinny gold candle toppers can be bought for cheap online & with different patterns and images so if you really want one shop around first! the kind I have has a little tray under it & the mobile is suspended from a little stick so any candle that fits in the tray will work perfectly. I suppose I could also turn the stick the other way and have a larger candle under it but I think then it doesn’t get the even heat that helps it spin. either way, that brand is totally overpricing that which probably cost them cents each to have made.
Really love these videos for my morning coffee 😊 love listening to you!
Also, about the candles, my mom used to be obsessed with partylite candles and sets and we always had ones that spun like a mobile from heat. I remember we had a haunted house one that had a ghost in the chimney that spun around, and i think there was also a spinning Christmas tree. I loved them
Their stuff is so over priced
I’ve missed you ladies!! It’s been such a crazy busy year for me especially at work (pharmacy accountant)! Finally taking vacation this week. It’s been so nice 🙌
Question!!
I just hate how half of some collections aren't available here in Australia I want that toofaced bronzer and the liquid lipstick
Happy Friday Beauties. Love youse x
I needed a new nude lipstick and it just seemed fun to wear for the season/year
Tarte just released a gigantic basic looking palette...a ginormous tartlette palette 🤷♀️
Laneige Peppermint is amazing; the Gingersnap is wrong somehow.
I also love the Hourglass palates this year.
The gingerbread angels like a generic caramel. I'm disappointed with it.
Im so excited for the Glaminatrix Silent Night Palette!
Love that phoenix hair... well.. I thought of that. LOVE!!!! Kisses to both! (and the fly...)
You two a match made on heaven 😍 made my friday
Too long in between videos- wish you ladies would go back to weekly ❤️ Miss my favorite Aussies
I actually bought that Tarte blush and highlight pack because I've never tried any of these from them. In that regard I think it's a good way to try a couple of things from a brand 😊 But yes overall the holiday releases are quite boring...
I love these votings! They are always so fun
I want a full roast that advent calendar video where u go through a bunch and gave ur opinions and rate the top 5 or whatever :p
I saw the Hourglass face palettes in Sephora today. I’m so glad I didn’t order either one. They’re so small than what I expected by looking at the photos.
Gotta say the Laneige gingerbread scent is actually pretty good this year. Also, peppermint isn’t half bad either
I feel exactly the same way. Actually about most of the new releases.
I’m kinda surprised you guys didn’t mention glasshouse. What do you guys think of them this year ? Also I think they have those carousel things too.
