The only different thing are those lip markers. But brands like Fenty and Rare Beauty have been innovative in some way. This brand seems more like an art project than a passion project.

The Lunar Beauty release reminds me why I really liked the KVD Shade and Light contour palette - it was replaceable so I just bought the one contour colour I needed and stuck it in a magnetic palette (which I did long before KVD realized they should sell individual versions of them). It wasn't pretty but it worked, was cheap, and avoided a ton of waste.
Manny would make BANK with an offering of a few z palettes with Celestial themes, and singles of the existing ranges I daren't let him know directly....

As someone who wears the same 2 eyeshadows every day, and buys 1 palette a year (if that; I keep buying the same singles), I couldn't get that Tarte one fast enough. Love it! I don't want good looking eyeshadow, I want eyeshadow that makes me look good in daylight, going about my boring everyday life. So no fancy textures, or texture highlighting metallics for me. Give me the boring!
I think that's exactly what tarte's brand is: everyday makeup that's easy to grab and use. They've done a good job staying focused on what their brand does.

I bought the Haus Laboratories Casa Gaga Collection. Holy teeny products. The lipsticks are like little sample sizes. The blushes are smaller sized, the highlighter is like a normal sized blush. It's a rip off.
Tarte palette is so boring and not the one you would show off to your friends… but it is useful honestly , helps to use some of my more special palettes full of stand out shades. I have a smaller version of this one. Quality is so so, but like i said , i can use some crazy colors with it

Yuck. I have an avon lip stain marker from about 100 years ago and it hurt my lips the first time i used it when it was new, and never touched it again. When the usual numbers on searches for mens makeup is probably 10, it would not be that hard to do 4x that.

I really like Lethal Cosmetics and I have had many eyeshadows from them but accustomed to 6 € (I am in Germany) per eyeshadow these new shadows cost 17€ and the palette 150€ ! Eventhough they are multichromes I still find them too expensive
Same. They’ve went straight to Clionadh's price policy. It’s a bit steep and they don’t have a reputation of doing multichromes well (yet. It’s literally a single shade in their last release). It’s a good move though, happy to wait for reviews and a good sale.

Yeah we know that palette well, and have owned it! What we were trying to say is this expansion just doesn't seem necessary. A volume 2 with different shades makes more sense.
R.E.M. beauty's marketing is just so weird. What does the name have to do with the packaging? The name makes me think of dreaming but the packaging and promo images are like 60s Era space shows.
Totally, & I think R.E.M (sleepy, dreamy etc.) could have been a really great aesthetic for a makeup brand-if they actually followed through on the concept!
It’s a Morphe brand, what do you expect? The packaging isn’t an exclusive design, they’re reusing existing ones. Someone on Reddit posted screenshots and video about a makeup brand winning design awards for it a couple years ago.

I ordered the eye bundle of the encanto collab. It comes with the pallet two liquid liners purple and green and a 3 eye brush set. I cant wait to get it! I love the color story! And the liner colors are not standard colors and match really nice. The brushes are colorful and look well made.and have an inspirational saying on them connected to the movie
The fact that I got a similar yet better eyeshadow quad than the by Mario one, from colourpop for 6 dollars instead of 30 lmao The darkest one is like a 1:1 dupe except all matte, so more practical and versatile too

I’ve always been “the makeup friend” and when we have a girl night out or some kind of event my house was always the “let’s get ready together” house so I go out of the way to have products my friends can use to either mix in to make or just have their shades available in products I love at all times bc the skin tones all vary. So I’m not too pissed off with manny’s palette. I agree it’s terrifying though. I already ordered and I know my friends and I will get use out of it!
A balm is kind of like a mix between a gel and an oil. When you don't add any color to it and you put it in a clear pot, it should look a sort of translucent beige color. A cream looks white when you don't add color. A balm also melts with heat and hardens in the cold. A balm also doesn't really contain water but cream does. Therefore, a cream down a bit on your face while a balm would always stay tacky or melt. To me, putting balm on your cheeks is such a terrible idea. Your body heat will just melt the balm and make you oily. It's yuck.

Listening to you guys talk about how borders are opening up and people are traveling while just getting off the phone with my friend talking about when we might go into lookdown again is sooo strange. But hey I hope you guys dont have to go into another lookdown again amd that things are looking better for you. Especially since you have been in lookdown so long. But since the pandemic is at its worst here in Germany I can only dream about going abroad.... sadly. But I am loving travel-friendly make-up nonetheless.
Just remember that we are in a different hemispheres and COVID tends to spread more in winter. So it makes sense that as we are opening up (we're nearly in summer) you are looking at going back into lockdown (close to your winter). Hopefully we wont have any further lockdowns because we are 90% vaccinated (of over 12 year olds) but if we do get another strain that hits vaccinated people, it will likely cause issues again in our winter time (around July). Hopefully things get under control there soon. Wishing you the best xo
The only thing I don’t like about the Natasha Denona face palettes is the wasted space (perceived by me) between the pans inside the palettes. I think they would look so much sleeker and less clunky if the pans were closer to each other.
I love that Give Me Glow palette but with my Kaleidos Club Nebula palette and my Alien Hauntingly Gorgeous palettes, I don't need it. That said, I _do_ have their Pastel Dreams palette and some singles and GMG has a beautiful formula that blends amazing. Their shadows play nice with other brands as well - especially Alien (now Unearthly) Edit: I'm so bored with those Tarte palettes but tbh, my mom and auntie will buy the _CRAP_ out of those palettes. If they're aiming for 60+, they've nailed it. Colourpop - The quads are _amazing_ while the quints are just okay.

Same. They’ve went straight to Clionadh's price policy. It’s a bit steep and they don’t have a reputation of doing multichromes well (yet. It’s literally a single shade in their last release). It’s a good move though, happy to wait for reviews and a good sale.

Yeah we know that palette well, and have owned it! What we were trying to say is this expansion just doesn't seem necessary. A volume 2 with different shades makes more sense.
What is the secret to applying matte shadows from Tarte, it's not as easy as I had hoped.
R.E.M. beauty's marketing is just so weird. What does the name have to do with the packaging? The name makes me think of dreaming but the packaging and promo images are like 60s Era space shows.
Totally, & I think R.E.M (sleepy, dreamy etc.) could have been a really great aesthetic for a makeup brand-if they actually followed through on the concept!

It’s a Morphe brand, what do you expect? The packaging isn’t an exclusive design, they’re reusing existing ones. Someone on Reddit posted screenshots and video about a makeup brand winning design awards for it a couple years ago.

I ordered the eye bundle of the encanto collab. It comes with the pallet two liquid liners purple and green and a 3 eye brush set. I cant wait to get it! I love the color story! And the liner colors are not standard colors and match really nice. The brushes are colorful and look well made.and have an inspirational saying on them connected to the movie

I’ve always been “the makeup friend” and when we have a girl night out or some kind of event my house was always the “let’s get ready together” house so I go out of the way to have products my friends can use to either mix in to make or just have their shades available in products I love at all times bc the skin tones all vary. So I’m not too pissed off with manny’s palette. I agree it’s terrifying though. I already ordered and I know my friends and I will get use out of it!

A balm is kind of like a mix between a gel and an oil. When you don't add any color to it and you put it in a clear pot, it should look a sort of translucent beige color. A cream looks white when you don't add color. A balm also melts with heat and hardens in the cold. A balm also doesn't really contain water but cream does. Therefore, a cream down a bit on your face while a balm would always stay tacky or melt. To me, putting balm on your cheeks is such a terrible idea. Your body heat will just melt the balm and make you oily. It's yuck.

Listening to you guys talk about how borders are opening up and people are traveling while just getting off the phone with my friend talking about when we might go into lookdown again is sooo strange. But hey I hope you guys dont have to go into another lookdown again amd that things are looking better for you. Especially since you have been in lookdown so long. But since the pandemic is at its worst here in Germany I can only dream about going abroad.... sadly. But I am loving travel-friendly make-up nonetheless.
Just remember that we are in a different hemispheres and COVID tends to spread more in winter. So it makes sense that as we are opening up (we're nearly in summer) you are looking at going back into lockdown (close to your winter). Hopefully we wont have any further lockdowns because we are 90% vaccinated (of over 12 year olds) but if we do get another strain that hits vaccinated people, it will likely cause issues again in our winter time (around July). Hopefully things get under control there soon. Wishing you the best xo
The Colourpop quads are definitely not crested equal. I have 4 and two are great, one is fine and one is basically chalk
The only thing I don’t like about the Natasha Denona face palettes is the wasted space (perceived by me) between the pans inside the palettes. I think they would look so much sleeker and less clunky if the pans were closer to each other.
I think it's like that because the blush is a cream and is under a flap to separate the face and eye sections. So that takes up a bit of space

I love that Give Me Glow palette but with my Kaleidos Club Nebula palette and my Alien Hauntingly Gorgeous palettes, I don't need it.
That said, I _do_ have their Pastel Dreams palette and some singles and GMG has a beautiful formula that blends amazing. Their shadows play nice with other brands as well - especially Alien (now Unearthly)
Edit: I'm so bored with those Tarte palettes but tbh, my mom and auntie will buy the _CRAP_ out of those palettes. If they're aiming for 60+, they've nailed it.
Colourpop - The quads are _amazing_ while the quints are just okay.
I love the Bondi Sands Hydra sunscreen. It suits my dry skin.
