Ben, was wondering if you have a bucket list of lawns to see? Sport stadiums, golf courses? Augusta must be up there.
Augusta for sure mate! Then I'd love to go to a few other huge golf courses in the states plus Anfield in Liverpool.
Wouldn't that be nice. Hey you thought of putting down some azaleas in the yard? Make it look like the 13 hole at Augusta 😁
Got quite a few up the back 😉
Haha my bad. Thought they were roses
That rotary montage jam ☺️☺️☺️ so good
Great vid mate can't wait to see how good lookin you get your lawn
Yea buddy #nzla we watching in the best country in the world here in nz
Clay here too in NE USA. I’ve had to go to preventive fungicide apps during summer, after getting hit hard two years in a row. Did good last season, waiting on spring now 🌿
Great stuff mate !🙌🏽🌱
Just subscribed to your channel and look forward to learning a lot from you. I just had a new home built a few months ago during the winter and it’s been snow since and this will be my first summer taking care of my lawn since I grew up in apartments. I just don’t want to have a crappy looking lawn in the neighborhood especially since I’m a rookie never even mowed before haha snow is melting and I’m starting to see grass
Lawn looks tidy
NZLA represent!!
Makes for great content Ben. Keen as to do mine thus year
Anothet great video mate. Really enjoyed this one.
Thanks mate! Hope all is well 👌🏽
Loving the vids I also live in Orange info is great as Oranges climate is different from most places and will help me in the future 👍
Have you ever tried/heard of using Barricade in garden beds or gravel paths? We've had a butt load of weeds punch up through the last week or so. Through weed mat too!
Also awesome vid mate, this answered a question I had about throwing down some Barricade before overseeding my QLD blue with some annual rye. So I won't be doing that! I reckon I'll deal with the winter weeds by hand/spray and then Barricade beginning of Spring.
Haven't seen you in a while!! Last I saw was the Slime Rancher series on your channel.
From maybe a year or two ago
Barricade should go under mulch, it probably won’t go through the weed mat very well...I ripped out my weed mat, seemed to do more harm than good stopping some water and letting through weeds!
@@austin357 you just gotta be very thorough with that weed mat, nice and thick
I've heard of some people using it in garden beds and having issues. Only because it can damage shallow rooted plants like roses etc. As for gravel paths I've used it before and it works great. Just breaks down quicker because of the heat.
Can you do a video on the plants around the perimeter of your back lawn? They almost look like tree (standard) roses.
Hey Ben love the channel. Is rye the only option when over sowing couch? Is fescue a option?
Mint
Nice cap. Shout out to Brenton.
Yo mate what up from NZ , just purchased some PGR from lawn addicts and it states not to apply to winter grass, as I'm about to do an overseed with soil will this be a problem?,I am getting as much winter grass out as possible but will obviously miss some.
Love the vids and Tee Shirt arrived ready to wear with pride when over seeding 😀
Yo mate. I had great success with ethofumesate 500sc (nortron by bayer) as a poa pre emergent. And its safe on germinating ryegrass. You got that in straya? Planning my overseed next week. Great idea on the pgr. Gonna have to try it!
Hey Ben, thinking about putting some seed down in the next week or 2. I can get Ansa Dip Perennial Ryegrass with Edge Endophyte (kg), is it same same but different?
YOU mentioned R.P.R. , Have you used RPR seed? I was thinking of using Barenbrug RPR in my backyard for traffic area. If so , does it fill bare areas very fast. I'm in the States Pacific North West of Washington St.
Undo the lid a little on the right hand side of the Primo, makes it easier to get it into the measurement cup :)
I did actually haha, just didn’t take it all the way off 👌🏽
If you had to choose between sprayers solo 441 or 417 which way would you go?
I have seen you use both and I'm currently deciding between the 2. The 441 would mean 5 tank fulls for my area and 4 for 417 probably judging by the 10 litre version I currently use which takes 7 tank fulls 700 square meters. But if the 441 is better to use then that might be the go and most of the time I won't do the whole yard at once anyway.
Hi Ben,
Great video as always.
Is Tribute a good option to get rid of Crowsfoot Grass and other summer weeds. Had so much rain here in QLD.
Thanks
Sure is if you have green couch 👌🏽
Nice vid, so many chemicals available which aren't here in the UK!
Bit of a bummer with some of the things you can’t get man!
That’s a good thing ,
If England had so many unnecessary chemicals to use on our lawns,
You would be bombarding us with unnecessary videos trying to push them on us to expand yer bank balance.
Didn’t know you were a Kiwi 🥝 🤘🏻❤️
Ik he lives in australia but is he from nz originally?
Does a cordless option exist that will accept the Landscape blade?
I just would like to ask you about grass seeds. I think you used seeds in your garden. What was the type of the seeds and from where I could get?
Could you please let me know about it! Thanks
does this come ready grown i love the look of it :)
Rare to find ryegrass as turf (sod)
Luckily it’s one of the easiest grasses to seed
i was only just thinking about buying that knapsack sprayer. what you reckon? it seems good value for a battery powered unit.
I’m a fan so far mate! Nice and light as well which I’m loving
Great vid Ben, What type of products would you be looking at as a preventative fungicide?
I’ve used banner maxx in the past or heritage maxx. Something like dedicate would be awesome, just pricey!
@@LawnTips Did think they might be a hefty investment, maybe I'll just treat required with something post. Cheers
I've been watching for a while now and love your channel. Any suggestions on how to get rid of wandering jew coming in from our neighbours? It's driving me crazy. TIA
I have a problem with those pesky Jehovah’s Witnesses’ . There’s not much you can do, unless you build a tall fence
We already have over 2.4m fences. The little shites are coming underneath.
I'm wanting to get a backpack sprayer. Not really keen on a battery powered one. What would you suggest for a good manual backpack sprayer?
I've been regretting my manual sprayer wish I got a battery... doing twice a week spoon feeding on 500m2 my left arm is like Popeye.
First Aussie 😁
5 outa ten.
I must stop being so generous,
I’m gonna start looking like a right easy to please push over.
Is the weather station new??
Yes sir, sure is
Hey Ben, can I PGR and overseed on the same day?
Sure can!
Water first then chemicals Ben!
I had a few litres in there 😂
Primo doesn’t bubble up which is handy
@@LawnTips Not just for you mate, for others watching. Safety, safety, safety. Talk about what you do and why you do it. Better for everyone.
@@emmett3067 fair enough. I’ll make sure to be mindful next time
@@LawnTips
What a push over .
Hi mate. The solo was battery operated? Where from?
Sure was. This one was from globe growing solutions. I’m going to be selling them in future once the price comes down on them. Solo only brought in low stock so could pass it on for a lower price . You can get direct from solo though now I’m pretty sure!
@@LawnTips i think so.
Or they can order from an adelaide based company called lawnhub(owned by waterpro) to.
Not first
Did your siri really go off 😂
Haha yep 😂
@@LawnTips lol. Mine goes off with the "hey google" line so if a video has that add come up it goes off
Is the TifTuf green staying this winter?
Sure is, no bent this year
Sweet. That'll be interesting to track. First winter for my Tif in Sydney too so I'm a bit nervous to see how it goes. Might have to bust out the Colourguard stuff! 🤦🏽♂️
Should be good man! Will discolour for sure, but colour guard is a good idea
Yo mate, what up?
When you whipped out the rotary it made me think, but do you still have the OG roller that you first made up for it?
Haha I do actually
Embrace the common bermuda! 🤣
No way big boy 😂
@ The Grass Factor
Troll.
Not second
You’re not allowed to be frivolous
Siri doesn’t like me
@@LawnTips
Can’t think why.
Your sad veggie box isn’t looking so sad anymore.
Haha it's funny you say that, we just pulled out quite a lot of whats in there and put some other veggies in because of the change in season.
Also not first ~(,, ,,">
If this comment gets the most likes on this video, I will let Mr Lawn Tips throw his seed into my missus.
I have question. If your soil is MOIST but the lawn looks dry. What does that mean ?
Could be a number of things.
Bugs, fungus, shallow roots. Sometimes lots of wind can do that to a lawn.
@@LawnTips yeah I'm getting a lot of wind here in South Australia
@@LawnTips also I have put down black bettle and grub killer. So time will tell I guess
@@jeffsmith5960 as he said could be many things.
@@southaussiegarbo2054 I didn't ask you did I
Unpopular opinion: I think having any cool season grass in most places of australia is irresponsible due to the amount of water it takes to keep it alive in summer. Seeing as water is our most precious resource. Obviously if you used your own rain water, that would be different. Flame away, internet.
Geez you’re a bit like Heisenberg with all your chemicals
Whaddup mate welcome to another blue meth vid
@@blzt3206 Ahahah
Do you ever wish you’d just gone with a far simpler, less labour intensive lawn instead of this?
Nah, I honestly enjoy it. Plus when it looks good it’s next level 👌🏽
@@LawnTips, yeah I’ve gotta admit your lawn looks like it belongs outside a French palace when it’s in tip top shape!
Dude put some actual plants in...how bare is this yard??!?!
Egal, wir schön der Rasen ist, der Garten sieht absolut langweilig aus ganz ehrlich
