Wow your grass is poppin what a job. I wish we had as good weather in Bonnie Scotland I would never be off my lawn Lol. Good on yir Dad, great job cutting.
Looking tops Brenton. I’m learning so much from you mate. Your videos are well thought through, and it’s what I look forward to every weekend. Love your work mate. Cheers,Grant.
Thanks mate he wanted to play with the battery mower and did a good job, Yeah you poor buggers have been smashed with rain, while here I've been getting probably just the right amount . Hopefully you get a break soon
Looks unreal! Can't wait to see the SB on it! I overseeded Kikuyu after a bit of a scalp, but don't think I went low enough unfortunately! In saying that, the Bendigo weather has still got the Kik kicking along surprisingly!
You’re a legend mate, I’ve been doing it your way and damn mate, I know have the best nature strip in the court. I get compliments all the time about it and it’s a really good feeling known that my neighbours are very happy with the results 🥰🥰🥰
@@theaussielawn Yeah it was looking really good before all the rain. It’s now got a disease and isn’t looking too good. But nothing that can’t be fixed
Def a good thing mate love my battery blower, My Stihl Petrol blower now just lives its life in the vacuum mode. The mower is great too if your not obsessed with short mowing
Great vid mate, I had the same issue with bare spots but due to heavy rain and just flooded seed out, lawn looks great mate nice and thick love the rye, it’s amazing how quick it germinates
Depends on what sprayer your using it on? 2 or 3 boom is a personal preference but I really recommend the brass lance it is not floppy like the standard lance
Not yet mate they are not in it yet few more weeks and hopefully they will be in and then we will look at turf options Hope you recover soon from covid mate
What are your air temps during the day/night and do you measure your soil temp too? Rye has certainly popped and looking good this early on. The plant doctor liquids will do amazing things for it... Love the iron and also the seaweed secrets I reckon has helped stave off some fungus/disease in my couch.
we are hovering around high teens low 20's during the day and mid too low single digits overnight. I occasionally look at soil temps but dont obsess over them but atm circa 14
Love the content keep it coming. I just sowed some Chewsing Fescue, Creeping Red Fescue and brown top mixture and we had some terrible weather roll through, it's been 2 weeks now and I have some good germination however there are some bare spots. If I wanted to oversow some more would I also top dress a little over top to bed the seeds in or would raking them in be okay and not damage the new seed that has germinated? Again loving the videos, just got myself my first cylinder mower an Old Morrison Olympic 500 and looking forward to having a lawn to be proud of.
Hi Daniel, If you top dressed when you laid the initial seed Id bet inclined to simply reseed and not rake it in. Thats what I did with my second seeding. But otherwise you could do a super super light topdress but id avoid raking the establishing young seed
Hey mate I bought the same rye seed you used for your oversow but can’t find it now. Can I ask where you got it from? Last year I got it from lawntips but he doesn’t have it there anymore. Cheers mate
Hey mate, what lawn was that before over seeding? Was is Santa Anna couch? How long do you expect the rye to stay around for? I over seeded some lawns about 6 weeks ago?
Hey mate, while I'm not a fan of rye oversow athat does look awesome. Do you not recommend that mower for couch based on height alone, would it have the power otherise? I cut at 35mm so not concerned about it not going low
Hey mate, Yeah its based on height alone, If you have a look through my vids there are one or two there where I mow some pretty think kikuyu and buffalo. Also about to do a comparison of a toro petrol mower vs the battery mower
Thanks for giving me something to watch while i get over covid
Wow your grass is poppin what a job. I wish we had as good weather in Bonnie Scotland I would never be off my lawn Lol. Good on yir Dad, great job cutting.
Thanks mate its going so well for a young lawn, I bet it gets pretty cold up your way 😬 I think i would freeze to death
The Rye is looking amazing for only 4 weeks in can't wait to see it in another month. Your Dad is awesome well done thanks for sharing Cheers.
Thanks Paul it’s really coming along nicely hey . The old boy was keen to play with the battery mower , he does an awesome job trimming hedges too .
@@theaussielawn He's a keeper for sure thanks mate.

Awesome vid Brenton, hope you're recovering as well as that grass is :D
Thanks mate yeah Im going ok
I was going to ask what you think of battery mowers and power tools but then you when there.
Def a good thing mate love my battery blower, My Stihl Petrol blower now just lives its life in the vacuum mode. The mower is great too if your not obsessed with short mowing
@@theaussielawn I live in a townhouse my loungeroom is bigger than my back yard. The Ozito cat cut it 3 times on one charge.

Yeah its nuts how quickly it germinates
Hey mate.
Would you recommend a two or three nozzle boom for a similar sized yard. And if so why.
Love your work

Thanks Tony, Yeah its awesome I love playing with rye grass but enjoy the couch lawn too.

Nice brenz I’ve always wanted to do a rye over sow but it would prob get destroyed by the same person that keeps doing it to my wintergreen
Ohh no mate thats not good. 😌

Hey mate, what lawn was that before over seeding? Was is Santa Anna couch? How long do you expect the rye to stay around for? I over seeded some lawns about 6 weeks ago?
Hi Gary yup under the rye is Santa Ana Couch, I'll spray it out in September and encourage the couch to resume dominance.
