      To be honest, I don’t mind any NASCAR Driver Playing The Villain, but I do think Denny Hamlin makes sense to have The Spot of The NASCAR Villain In My Opinion.

    I will always respect a driver who empresses the villain role. It’s like they’re saying yeah “I’m wrong and I don’t give a fuck”

      That’s fair in some cases, like Kyle Busch, who was a sort of likeable bad guy because he was a funny and ostentatious bad guy. But Hamlin shows poor character on and off the track. That’s your opinion though, I’ll respect that

      He's shown such poor character, he now has the longest running primary sponsor since Jeff Gordon did. 20 years with FedEx as his primary sponsor. So he's doing something right behind the scenes. @@randomchannel6008

    Honestly Denny Hamlin is a great villain for Nascar, he actively plays into it, instead of pretending otherwise (Logano)
    If he actually wins a title the fan reaction will be surreal

      First off Denny’s never winning a title at this point. I’ve just accepted it (I had him as one of my favourites to win the title from 2016-21)
      Secondly I think Logano tried playing into it a little but he seems to have the mindset of being nice on track but chaotic on track

      I’d give Hamlin a chance across a full-season (he can be consistent) but not this format

      He's having his best start to a season in a long time. Not just a pair of wins, but he's led more laps than anyone in NASCAR this season. So I wouldn't say he's not winning at one. When you look at the metics, 42 is about the peek age for NASCAR when it comes to experience and ability. @@JackLikesTrackhouse

    Denny's not a villain. People may give him that title, but that doesn't mean he is, Denny is a driver I've watched for YEARS, I respect him for not only not giving a shit about what fans think, but also being dominant with it!
    If anything, he's a hero. He's just doing what Nascar used to be, bumping, dumping, banging, bumping, it's just called racing

      He is what the sport needs. I can’t stand when people talk bad about him like he has no idea what is going on in the sport. Denny is a team owner has the most wins besides Kyle on the grid and no is even close to him right now Denny is speaking for the people and I can’t stand the stupid fans that think chase Elliot is good for the sport. At least Denny is trying to put nascar out in the world again he is willing to do just about anything they ask him to do. While chase you will only see him on race day and that’s normally in the car and if it’s not in the car it’s just a sponsor vomit promo. We need more Dennys and less chases.

    I became a fan of Denny Hamlin in 2017 before the whole Chase Elliott feud, as my first race was the summer New Hampshire race. For me it's kind of a shame he's gotten like this, but Nascar needs drivers like it. Kyle Busch, Joey Logano, and Brad Keselowski have kind of mellowed out and at this point aren't really villains.

    Maybe it’s just me but unlike Kyle Busch or Ty Gibbs who seemed to embrace being disliked, Denny Hamlin feels forced. There’s no natural villain arc with him it’s so unnatural
    I’ve got no reason to dislike him or boo him, even his controversial incidents can usually be explained away by “oh it’s just racing”

      He and bubba are my least favorite drivers for obvious reasons I think since 2017 denny has been somebody I really just dont like but I think 2020 is when I think it hit a fever pitch and exploded he won Daytona celebrated and did donuts while I was more concerned about Ryan Newman, like a lot of us who was there was Talladega and him going below the yellow line to steal that one, plus signing the other most polarized driver with help from mj. Jgr yeah I respect Joe gibbs but some of his drivers past or present there was a time I didn't like them very well.

    Glad you brought up the 2020 Daytona 500 celebration. That's one of the biggest reasons I hate JGR and Denny Hamlin. Everyone thought we might have lost Ryan Newman and for Joe Gibbs to lead the team in celebrating was just so despicable.

Newman's crash looked terrible and potentially fatal and it happened on the frontstretch right in front of everybody

    In today's era, I like to think of Denny as the Starscream to Kyle Busch's Megatron.
    And before anyone asks, Chase Elliott is Bumblebee, Kyle Larson is Jazz, Ross Chastain is Ironhide, and Martin Truex Jr. is Optimus Prime.

      Denny is the best right now. Championship or not. Matt Crafton is washed up, Kyle Busch is entering that stage. Truex is up there. Logano is struggling and Larson is the 2nd best.

Hamlin is constantly bested during the post-season by better drivers. You can be as good as you can be in the regular season, but if you can't get it done at the end, you're not the greatest.     Nascar is the wwe on 4wheels and the only thing that makes hammy a villain is that unlike kyle biiiiiiish hammy has never owned up to being a heel like kyle biiiiiish always has and just like how biiiiiish recently had a change of attitude and heart via post race interviews etc these last few seasons there is hope that hammy will turn face with the grace of age

    Hamlin has always been mid, whenever hes racing for the win, he deliberately shoves the other driver into the wall, and claims it was on accident, but it’s happened over a dozen times. He can;t win on raw talent. Thats why he’ll never win a championship.
