Pocono is actually mad underrated. Usually a great finish even with fuel mileage races as well as also having great restarts. And yeah as a Truex fan, Sonoma is easily one of my most anticipated races of the year, but I have bias. 😂
You are crazy. Both. Pocono and Indianapolis are good tracks. And there are way worse you could have put there.
well we havent seen the next gens on the oval in indianapolis, and it was terrible in its last couple oval races so ig it makes sense
Pocono has actually had 2 decent races recently, so im coming around on it. Phoenix is just forgettable without its championship race date. Indy Oval has also been forgettable other than the prestigous race it is. Sonoma is also forgettable, but thats hurts me to say that because its one of my home tracks on the cup schedule. And Texas, is the one we all agree on. Im surprised New Hampshire isnt on the list, but i see why it didnt make the list
We can’t judge the Indy oval as forgettable because it hasn’t been raced with the next gen yet, obviously if history says orherwise and the race is as boring with the gen 6 then I’d say it’ll be forgettable
Pocono has been one of the best tracks since 2021. Not a bad race since then
I went to sonoma last year. You can nearly every bit of the tracks in turn 7. There's always something happening its awesome
I was at that race too and was just about to say this.
I'm a Sonoma native and I will die on this hill. Sonoma is a amazing in person track. Also doesn't help that Sonoma falls on the last fox broadcast so they don't give a shit about the coverage so that doesn't help
I sit at the top of the hill climb in turns 2, you can legit see almost every part of the track, only a few parts being blocked
Booooo! Pocono on the list?! Why?!
The races were kind of mediocre before the next GEN car. since the next GEN car came out, the track has been absolutely phenomenal for NASCAR.
@@bostonwarrior4824that’s true but this list is current
Have you watched a Pocono race?
@@kctc4490yes and I loved it
I hate that its in the list especially since its my home track
I’m gonna be honest, I’d rather have a Texas race than a championship Phoenix race, at least Texas gave us something to talk about Phoenix is just mind numbingly boring
Same at least there be sliding and wrecking
Pocono definitely shouldn't be here.
I agree. In my opinion, Richmond should be on the list.
Pocono is so underrated. New Hampshire and Phoenix are pretty bad, but people always scream about Texas. I actually prefer Texas over those tracks, not saying Texas is great, but it's better than Phoenix and New Hamsphire. Richmond was pretty dull for a while, but it was really good the last 2 races, so maybe they figured something out for that track.
The Indy road course is easily the worst Nascar track PERIOD.
Richmond should definitely 100% be on this list lol. Even before the next gen races in 2019 and 2020 races were mid at best. Now it’s gotten way worse.
Fr
Oh yea I skip every richmond race 😂
I'm going to both Pocono and IMS this summer, so I'm hoping for no rain especially in Pocono. I agree Sonoma to me is really getting pathetic for races
I’m actually really mad that Texas lost it’s INDYCAR date because the racing at the last couple INDYCAR races there have been amazing
They should Rotate The Championship Race
I’d rather race on the inside of a volcano than race at Phoenix.
I'll always have a soft spot for Pocono, since it was the 1st Cup I attended in person (in 2007)
God, Truex’s 56 NAPA Camry was so good looking
Pocono is one of my favorite tracks given its uniqueness in layout.
Pocono hasn't had a bad race since the 2nd 2019 race. 550 worked great there and the current car/package is even better!
Pocono in person is good, besides the fact that the racing can get a bit bad halfway into the race, there has always been a good finish the last couple of yeatd
Richmond
You forgot the 2002 Sonoma race where how that finished with Ricky Rudd and Jerry Nadeau.
Phoenix, Richmond, and Texas are my top 3
How do you have Pocono?
3:01 being a road course, Sonoma is oddly one of the few races I can sit through and enjoy watching. I don’t understand why people dislike Sonoma and Like Watkins’s glen (I also like Watkins) or vice versa. I don’t get the hate towards it, but feel free to tell me why
If NASCAR will not return to Sonoma NASCAR Add Laguna Seca replace Sonoma
Road course racing is usually kinda meh for NASCAR, but that’s partially because of a bad car package (when they did Charlotte Roval for the first time in 2018 for example, it was entertaining, now not quite the same). Though I’m with you in general on your opinions, it’s nice to have drivers being tested on different kinds of tracks
For me, you can get rid of both "plate" tracks -- "flip-a-coin" isn't racing, just entertainment for those who won't (publicly) admit they really like demolition-derbies more than racing... nuthin' wrong with Indy or Pocono... am ambivalent on Texas....
Pocono has the most exciting fuel mileage racing. So I disagree
honorable mentions: New Hampshire, Richmond
Texass worst offense is (temporarily) killing off North Wilkesboro.
I don't disagree with your list, but with the caveat that we haven't seen a next-gen race on the Brickyard oval yet. Call me optimistic, but with how good most intermediate-style tracks race, Indy might actually put on a good show. I mean, its not like Goodyear could make the same tire mistake again, right? 😅
I have been to sonoma, and the viewing from the main grandstands is not very good at all. Turn 1 immediately puts the cars out of view, and they aren't visible until the backstretch. Then, they disappear from view again through the hairpin turn and only appear right before the start/finish line. I was there for the 2018 and 2019 races - the only action I really saw was pit road, Stenhouse blowing an engine, and being feet away from DW right before his last race that he announced in 2019. Even when Martin Truex Jr. won, he did his burnout at a different section of the track that we nearly couldn't see.
I first sat in the Grandstands, which for me wasn't really that bad (was there for K&N 2018 and Cup 2019) but now ever since 2022 I sit at the top of turn 2 and you can see almost the entire race track
@@hurricane5758 Definitely one of the few tracks where almost any grandstands give a better view than the main grandstands that overlook the start/finish line.
Pocono is 30 min from me
Saw Dale Jr win in 2014
Kenseth in 2015
And Blaney in 2017
Also there's a Disc Golf tournament on and around the track which is awesome.
Buuut, the track is huge and hard to keep track of anything going on lol but the infield party is killer 😅
I honestly think the racing at most tracks was better with the Gen 4 and Gen 6 cars. It amazes me how NASCAR had years to develop the COT and brought out something that was flawed and hard to drive, and then did it again with the current car. Do they ever actually test the cars, and would anyone really blame them if they took more time to develop something better?
The fact that pocono is in here even though he had mainly only good things to say about the track is confusing to me but I also don’t think he should have Indianapolis on this race considering the next gen hasn’t even raced at the oval yet.
Bro Sonoma is my home track 💀
Phoenix is annoying more than anything. I want phoenix to somehow turn into autoclub
Damn, I personally think that the next gen in general greatly deteriorated the category, although there are certainly tracks that are more boring than others...
Texas is great with the Indycars. It could be an Indycar onlu track.
Phoenix was way better before it was renovated. With the finish line in a better spot and the grass
Love the pokemon background music
How many times has Kyle Busch and Martin Truex finished 1 2 at sonoma
Richmond. New Hampshire. Phoenix. All can get demolished
New Hampshire is the only NASCAR track in New England so I don’t want it to go.
@@CJODell12 same here, but i do agree something needs to be done. I personally think they need to up the banking in 1&2 and 3&4. Also if SMI can find a way to get the night race bill repealed and get lights im willing to bet the action would be better. Maybe even get our 2nd date back from Vegas if that happens (yes im always gonna be a little salty about vegas)
I love Sonoma. Tbey have always produced great finishes
Trade phoenix for Atlanta 😂😂😂
The various bad tracks lists I watch clearly highlight to myself how little I watch NASCAR these days.
I remember Phoenix as a good track and Fontana was the worst. Bar none. No track could even compete. Pocono was a distant second worst. Indy probably was number three. But the Indy road race was worse than the oval. The first year left a really bad taste in my mouth.
My early days of NASCAR I preferred Sanoma over Watkins Glen.
Get rid of phoenix 😂😂😂😂😂
1. Texas
2. Richmond
3. Sanoma
4. Phoenix
5. New Hampshire
Texas is better with the current configuration because if you don't approach turns 1 & 2 right, you'll either lose a lot of spots, you're going to spin yourself out, someone is going to get spun out, or someone is going to get wrecked. At least that puts on better racing then Dover, Richmond, and Homestead.
So you want a race more similar to a train?
No way my man just said texas is better than Homestead cause the only way to pass is through wrecks 💀
@@thicccheese4007 the only choo choo train racing is I see is a Xfinity race at Daytona and Dega when the high riding on a long green flag run so it's impossible to choo choo racing outside of a restristor plate track.
@@kermitthefrog9153 Homestead sucks. It's nothing but mega long green flag runs where the leader goes bye bye while high riding. Homestead should use the road course they have there because that road course was there when the track opened unlike that fake course at Charlotte.
I was expecting
5. Dover
4. Pocono
3. Richmond
2. New Hampshire
1. Phoenix
I am thoroughly Disappointed.
Nice shirt
Sonoma is my home track, so for that reason alone, I cannot agree with you.
Pocono, just plain out wrong, nothing else to say about that.
Indianapolis, road course was absolute garbage but it will be good with the new car on the big track so also wrong.
Sonoma, same as Indy, absolute garbage with the carousel. They took away the best turn on the track.
Phoenix, kinda fair as it's not the best but I go there every November and it is one of the nicer facilities in all of nascar.
Texas, like Sonoma and Indy it's a bad reconfiguration. It just kinda sucks now, the old configuration would be awesome with this car.
Richmond should be on this list, other than Edwards putting Busch around back in I think 2016 I can't think of the last entertaining race at Richmond. Also New Hampshire has never had a good cup race, modified has but not cup.
Oh cmon Pocono isn't that bad
Sonoma is a good track it shouldn't belong here
Honestly, tracks 5 to 2 can provide decent racing if they raced at different times, packages, or configurations. TexARSE is a junk heap that produced $#!+ racing since it opened in 1995. No reconfig can save it, it needs to be demoloshed entirely and give its race to COTA, Fontana, or North Wilkesboro
Your opinion of Pocono is bad and you should feel bad
I love Texas moterspeed way it’s my favorite the worst track for me is Martinsville speed way martinsville is bad because the cars are slow and there’s no high banking and guys why do all of you hate Texas moter speed way so mush
“Cars go slow and no banking” we are talking about the racing product here bud not the track itself
Well, I hope Texas moter speed way becomes a super speedway
@@thewystermyster3466 we don’t need anymore drafting tracks. 6 is plenty.
Both Pocono and Indy are W tracks. Yall are just sour
