I’m sorry the music is too loud and not very good. I am working on improving for future videos. Thanks for understanding.
For the record, I enjoyed the music and the video! Thanks for posting it!
blackshirej Thank You and Thanks for the support!
What about the door of a 1965 Volkswagen. A year drop with a volkswagen door.
@@BasecampUnbounded 2:15 it ain't got no gas in it, umm hmm.
😁
leave the music "OFF" next time. I'm sorry. I can't continue.:(
Mate your project is mint but the music is shit and way too loud. I wanted to hear what you were saying but have to keep the volume down so I couldn’t
Daniel Fish Thanks for the feedback. And thank you for watching. I’ll try and improve on future videos.
What truly matters to me is your willingness to share your work, which is your life. Thanks again, brother.
Carlos Ramirez Thanks for the support!
i am a retired Woodworker who did Commercial Architectual Woodwork installation and before that Residential Carpentry and trim installation eventually i wound up running the Architectual Woodwork Installation team for 20 years and at one point or another i’ve either bought or used a Contractor 10 “ tablesaw almost all brands use inferior motors and parts with lots of cheap plastic the only one i personally like and think is made halfway decent is The Dewalt which seemed to hold up best being used and abused on job sites as a common practice to help prevent damage to the tools and make it easier to clamp to stands and similar required workstations we typically bolted all our saws to a 3/4” Baltic Birch plywood platform so everything would work best on our saw stands out inthe field those plywood bases were oversized and very much added some additional protection and strength to all of our tools we typically protected the Veneer with a few coats of Conversion Varnish (satin) i like your Camper build , i’ve always wanted to do one myself one day but the timing hasn’t been right for me yet in the past i’ve gone with used Airstreams ?
Craig Monteforte it’s funny that you mentioned Dewalt. Most of my power tools are all Dewalt and that’s what I replaced the saw with. Thanks for watching!
We are watching all these videos! We are on this one at the moment!! It's so awesome to watch!! Great videos
@@LenardMountainHomestead Awesome. Thanks so much for watching.
I want to make one also. I’ve retired and just sold a Camper and have another I’m working on . But now that it cold I’m going to pull this little clam shell trailer into my garage , strip it to the frame and make the lightest trailer I can. We see how it goes. Good luck with you efforts
JIm Reinhardt Sounds like a fun project. Good luck with your build!
Me: one more video before I go to bed
Me at 3am: *planning to build a camper so I can live in it and move whenever I can because I'm antisocial as hell*
me to brother i can't stand people half the time.
A camper this size will definitely keep the 'riff-raff' out.
Lmfao u ain't lying i was thinking the exact same thing.
My friend calls that magic smoke, that came out of your saw. I had a circular saw that did that, but it was in a rig to work as a table saw so I just changed it out. Enjoying your build !
Happened to my circular saw the first morning framing my garage. I didn't change the crosscut blade to a rip blade.
Regardless of the music , or anything else, keep doing what you do....because if someone is looking to learn something they will, but most people will just be a bunch of Simon Cowells of construction but yet they cant do jack.
Sonny Tanner Thank you for the support!
Sonny Tanner I agree.
I agree
Awesome really want to make one , but for canadian winters
Man this is a stellar build, I am here getting ideas for my current teardrop camper build again
M Langford Thanks Bud. Thanks for watching!
Hay Bud I am back to watch again as I am building another camper, I always rewatch video before each build so much fun
Great lesson. Thank you for taking the time and energy to film and upload. Much appreciated.
looks like a very nice start. Be sure to keep us up to date.
captaintlc Thanks. You can follow the progress on my playlist ruclips.net/p/PLjC73s42QAHlQQaNQPLjnWvCdHOGAXVOR Thanks for watching
I just watched the hatch build. You are good at what you are doing. I'm done on RUclips for the day and I'm going to start a new project
Really cool build, im definitely going to watch the rest. Got me feeling really inspired to build my own
Jacob Reynolds Thanks for the support. Happy Building!
Gives me hope for mine! Simple and doable. Most show the complete process which is a bit overwhelming. Thanks!
Cool build. Too bad I had to watch it on mute. Couldn't stand the music.
Greg Winget Thank you. I’m working on a source for better music for future vids. Thanks for watching!
Like the 2×4 roof stout! I would go water seal coat on all exterior wood and treated wood and enjoy natural wood
PATRIC MINDERHOUT Thanks Bud. I plan on aluminum skinning the outside but I will be keeping the natural wood look on the inside. Thanks for watching!
This must be my favourites minicamp to build so far, I love it! :) ❤️
The Wild Raven Tales Thank you for the positive vibes!
Dang dude those are some nice cut outs for the door and window, looks cnc cut, bravo
M Langford Thanks bud!
Very cool build, regular guy, regular tools, regular materials. Don't sweat the naysayers. This shows you don't have to be a "fabricator" with cnc this and 3d that to make cool projects. Ya, that music, lol.
Ray Burg Thanks for the support!
Trying to draw up my own plans on constructing a trailer. I wouldn't recommend driving fasteners into the butt end of the roof joists, just something I've heard from experts on wood joinery. Keep up the good work man. It's not easy!
HOSSonaHOG good luck with your build. Thanks for watching!
What would you do instead?
@@TheDouglash you could either use pocket screws, or notch the walls and frame the joists into them so you can put screws perpendicular through the joist and then wall stud.
That said, the poster is correct that screwing into the end face doesn't have as much strength due to how the screw interacts with the wood grain.
@@someonesmiticothanks I was going to say something on the other video but changed my comment. You are right. Many studs at home were put in the end of the studs, dad always hammered nails on an angle. Screws would even hold better than dads nails. Well back to the trailer build. I would put each stud under each roof rafter that would make the roof stronger if a limb fell on the roof of the trailer. 73
I'm really enjoying watching you do this build. Excellent work. One request: raise the volume on your commentary, and lower the volume of the music. Again, great job!
Marcus Lovelace Thank you. You’re the second person to mention the music. I’ll work on correcting the issue in future videos. Thanks for the support!
Excellent work??? Did you even watch the video? The guy is an amateur if I ever have seen one. Look at timestamp 6.43 and see the two side panels not align with the two small front panels.
@@demus8757 Hey smarty pants, let's see your video online to let the world critique your work, Jackass.!!!
Hey De Mus, he clearly stated they were just there for temp support. Don't be a douche.
Keep it going. You are doing wonderful. Learning as you go is the best way to create your own style. Most don’t have the balls to even try building one. As someone who has built houses, I wouldn’t ha e an issue. But there are lots of people who don’t have the knowledge skills or know-how. More than that they have not the perseverance a project like this actually takes. So Rick on bro!
That table saw's stickers were rolling up on the edges. Did it get wet? High humidity area? That may be why it didn't last long. I totally get your thinking. I recently, reluctantly, bought a Ryobi router and table even though I'm a Dewalt and Milwaukee fan. But it's ripping lumber just fine so far.
David Price It didn’t get wet but in southeast Texas humidity could have gotten to it. Never thought about that. Definitely like the Dewalt saw I replaced it with though. Thanks for watching!
Awesome job on the camper.
MJ Beebe Thank You’ and thanks for watching!
Good beets.
Liquid nails is amazing.
More on floor supports and how they attach to the trailer would be nice.
Charles Ishman I have another video dedicated to building the floor. ruclips.net/video/Xc2SiSutmeo/видео.html Thanks for watching
Love the build!!! Music was pimp made me want to go to a rave.
Jeremy Morrison Thanks for watching!
Looks like it’s coming along good ,, sure been thinking about building me a new one a little bigger .
Table saw issue was caused by putting it on a flat, unventilated surface. This prevents the motor in the saw from cooling itself.
Don't operate one of these for extended times (ripping more than 1 or 2 8ft boards) unless you put it on an appropriate table. It will overheat... a better saw would have a thermal shutoff to prevent damage though.
An easier way to spread glue is buy it in gallon jugs and use a 3" paint roller to spread it. when you are done for the day just leave the roller in the tray and wrap it with a garbage bag. It will not harden until you need the glue again.
All you teardrop builders should know that lumber/plywood suppliers sell a plywood that bends very easily. Called "bender plywood ". Cabinet shops use it in custom rounded cabinets, etc. Comes in 3/8th by 4x8 sheets. Makes building that back door on teardrop campers much easier. No spring back. Great on that front curve too. On that classic teardrop, rout a 1/8 or larger depending on your ceiling material thickness, groove 1/4"deep just under the roof line where the ceiling panel goes. Both side walls. Before installing the back kichen wall, slide your ceiling panel into that Groove all the way down to the front floor. No gluing, nails or supports needed . Its bend will keep it up in place. Any flat ceiling area will need a few tacks . Easy peasy.! Happy building!
Great start to a great camper new friend my Texas brother
Nice nice job man, love it thanks
Blackdogcamper I appreciate it. Thanks for watching!
How are you going to clad it?
I've been showing a few models, like Runaway, to my local jeep group. If I had capital, I would bring in 3 or 4 from Florida.
If Florida wasn't so far away, I'd have one myself.
I was looking for so plans to build my own. It's really cool to watch the build!
Picked up some goods pointers for my build because of your build. Thank you.
roc con Glad you found it helpful. Thanks for watching!
Tip: use a bit holder on your impact or your drill, it will help hold your screws in place while you screw them in.
On my next build I used the west marine 2 pump epoxy and I love it. I will be posting that after I finish the current video's
I thought my camper was built strong as I used 2x3 and it looks like you used 2x4 studs that should be a beast. My next build I will stick with the 2 x 3 to save weight, drop by and take a look I did build mine 5 feet wide.
M Langford They are 2x3s actually 2x6s ripped in half. Yeah I’ve been following your build. A little behind on watching your vids but you’re doing good work. Thanks for watching!
Looking forward to your next video.
I just have to watch again, this is killer and I hope to make my videos this good
keep the progress coming ! love the videos man
Anthony Davila Thank you for the support!
Great spirit - wonderful job. Bless you.
Great build!
Veronica Robertson Thank You. And Thanks for watching!
hi I am on my husbands youtube so just want to say that I bought a home build a couple of years back and it pretty much did what yours did with the addition of black mold so tore it down and am working with my son when he has time to rebuild it by a plan this time. I want the solid walls like you are doing so have gleaned some good info for that from watching you do yours. Am excited to see your next step.My name is Paula.
Danny Haynes Paula, Thanks for watching and good luck with your build.
Reach in and push the "reset" button on the motor after it cools off. Also a bit smaller blade puts a touch less strain on those chip made things. Also, I agree with the other 329 people, You call that loud noise MUSIC? We could live without it!
Abe Davis Appreciate the tips. Working on better music for future videos. Thanks for watching!
Great video.... thanks for posting! Music was over the top and unnecessarily..... but you've got the video and editing down! Thanks again and keep up the great work!
imxploring Thank you for watching and taking the time to leave your thoughts.
It’s looking great man
M105 Camper Thanks bud!
Love the music matches what your doin, keep up the work great job
Carter Seib Thanks for the positive vibes!
very nice job and I learned about bendable plywood lol I never knew there was any thing like that lol
John Wessinger Glad you learned something new. Thanks for watching!
I really wanted to watch this but the music drove me away!
Love it, very good video. I want see everything to the end.Thank you for sharing this video!
OMG, the music ruins this video, I'm listening to you talk in a soft monotone voice then BAM the loud music knocked me back in my chair!
Indeed, it is disgusting. I wanted to write the same and saw your comment. I am constantly changing the volume of the laptop.
De Mus kinda strong language toward someone who is sharing his experience. I would not say disgusting but rather not suitable for the content
Jim Forbes LOL. I didn’t say not to be honest but I think the word disgusting was not appropriate just much as the music. I think you should take a chill pill.
Jim Forbes alright there keyboard warrior.
Andreas Spiliotis Shut the fuck up,..ooops, did I hurt your feelings now?
Great build one question where do you describe the floor or did I miss it great job thanks for sharing would like to build one for me and my wife
I had that happen to me on my Rigid table saw. It ended up just being the fuse.
Likewise. I didn't even know it had a fuse until a relative asked to take it "for parts and scrap", replaced the fuse and *then* told me what an easy fix it was; lol. Lesson learned. Now, I get to know my tools well on day one.
So how did it come out? Any leaks or cracks after driving and using it? Any advice for someone about to try and build one?
I like the music and I am hearing impaired so it was the right volume:P
Great looking teardrop camper
Mountain View Turning Than you!
Building one now. Thank you for the great video.
Awesome vid can’t wait to see it finished
Ray Frazier Thanks for the support!
Thanks for sharing. I don't at all mind the music. Great editing skills also my friend.
I've been wanting to enclose a trailer for some time .got a good.idea now .thanks
L Montoya Gald it helps. Thanks for watching!
Did you check for a fuse reset button? I have a nice big table saw and I occasionally over burden i and trip the fuse. Wet treated 2x could have pinched the blade.
Glen Morrow yes I checked for fuses and reset switch, there was none that I could find. Even looked at changing out the motor. Wasn’t worth fixing. I replaced with a dewalt. Thanks for watching.
Thank you for making this video, I have no problem with the music either. But this video gave me the confidence to produce the floor structure that I needed and how to properly attach it to the trailer frame. I could not find anyone that had shown that process so I really appreciate you doing this period are there any other options for attaching the floor that you can think of?
AMAZING ONE🍻
Nice DIY great job so far! Can't wait to see the finished product!
Very nice job. I saw the first part. I thought you were using the thick spars to insulate after. But I've got it now. Not a fan of the music, but sounds like your addressing it. Some people do, those who don't critique. Keep on building stuff, looks like your good at it.
I really like this build 👌
Juanita Jones Thank You!
I watched for the help you give on building. Not as a music appreciation spot. Damn nice work
captaintlc I appreciate the support. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for sharing your work 👍
Giving me lots of ideas for my own camper build.
I'm in Australia 🇦🇺 and plan to use it in the summer months in out back Western Australia, it can get up to 60 degrees celsius 🤣 so ill be fitting a air conditioning system.
What weight did the camper come in at?
Thanks again
Yo, use robinson/torx. Especially if you're trying to do any one handed screwing.
Alex Legg I used all torx screws for the structure and stainless robertson screws for the aluminum trim on the outside because they look cleaner than the torx head screws.
I like the music. I had to laugh when he outperformed his saw.
Great video. Can wait to see more.
Your's and one other on YT are the most comprehensive build vids I have seen. I like you not editing out your mistakes and explaining preparation for future changes. I am adding this to subscriptions. NOW THE MUSIC. Nice, but over powering volume,; make the music subdued.
rancid pitts Thank you for the kind words and thanks for watching. I will be more observant with the music volume in future videos.
@@BasecampUnbounded You are welcome.
rancid pitts what other builds did you like?
That's looking great. You've definitely given me the motivation to plan and build my trailer.
Pete V Thank You! Go for it!
You are so impressive! Wow! I really appreciate your video and instruction. I stripped down my Dad's 93 Prowler all the way to the trailer. How did you do your trailer base? I am not sure how I should do mine. It has new wood on the metal frame. I just put it on last summer. I am getting ready to start again this spring. I am thinking I will need to frame the floor
Good job thus far!
2AR Tactical Custom Guns Thanks for the support!
I just discovered your channel and I really like the design man keep up the good work. If you really want a good tablesaw get a Dewalt tablesaw I have one and we love it
Cody Wright That’s exactly what I bought as a replacement. Love it so far. Thanks for watching!
ow is the camper working out? Is there anything you would do different?
Peaceful Prepper So far I am happy with this build. Thanks for the support!
Nothing wrong with the music. Thanks for posting video
Kyle I appreciate that. Thanks for watching!
Loved it thanks for posting
martin burgess Thanks for the support!
Nice build.
Pro Star Maintenance/ Mad Dog Thank You!!!!
It's a nice build. The music, you probably know by now that you can set it to like 25% when it's playing. CHEERS!
Great build. Still, have to turn up the volume to hear you, then quickly turn it down when the music blares.
Thanks for the feedback. I’ll work on it.
Yes! This!!!
Found it thanks again for sharing keep up the good work
HUX METAL WORKS happy to share. Thanks for watching!
I did not see any question about the inner dimension. May I know the measurement from height to width to length for a micro teardrop?
Rommel Abesamis The camper is just over 4’ wide inside and just under 4’ ceiling height. Total interior length is about 90” but will be divided for a rear galley. The sleeping area will be about 6’ length. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching!
Like the video, wondering how much this thing weights? your using some heavy lumber, looks like yellow pine as compared to spruce a lighter wood, didn't see what you used to waterproof the underside of the flooring?
Kainosktisis guessing it’s around 1k lbs. I sealed the bottom with roll on bed liner. Thanks for watching!
With smoke it did more than overheated.
You could replace with a heavier motor from Grainger.
Nice looking build so far
Dean Mclaughlin Thank you!
Looking good thanks for the video.
Kevin Robinson thank you for the support!
@@BasecampUnbounded I may have some videos that can help your welcome.
Kevin Robinson I subscribed, I check them out.
I enjoyed the build so far. Would you in later stages add more windows and solar panels into the build
loved the build! and the music!
Great job.
Darrell Blair Thank You. Thanks for watching!
Awesome job!
Thank you!
good video....I have a Dewalt and Ryobi table saw ...both great...use diablo brand blades next time....had mine for years of great cutting like you just did...treated wood too. I see that your blade shows darkness on blade tips...sign of needed blade change. Diablo!! thanks for your tips and such...good build!!
ZORRO4652 I upgraded to a Dewalt table saw after this video. Really happy with it. Thanks for watching!
Thanks I’m thinking about building one my self this is helping me get ideas
Cyrus Campbell Glad you found it helpful. Build it you will be happy you did. Thanks for watching!
If you haven't tossed the tablesaw those ryobi saws have a small capacitor that is replaceable for as little as $10 shipped.
Jared Williams it’s long gone but thanks anyway. Thanks for watching
You sawed more then I would ever think for a 10" 110v saw. Ya have to go 3X on price for a little better saw. Should of let it rest and get a rip blade for it. Nice video content, you probably already know about music editing by now.
Dennis Collins I upgraded to a Dewalt Table saw. Thanks for watching!
Nice craftmanship, and unexpected but good music.
