I had to change the vaccume pump seal on my 13 ats 2.5 a few years back and didn't have to remove that entire cowel or anything to get it done, but it looks like it does give it a little more room to work.👍
Great video!!! Thank you so much for this! There aren’t many videos for ATS as much as other cars but this saved me from taking it to the dealer or a reputable mechanic. I was able to pretty much follow the directions it did take me two days to complete only because it got too dark and I had to also order the vacuum pump since I had to take it off. Put it back together today cleared codes and everything seems to be working fine. No leaks from the pump or gasket. Great video and great communication in respect to steps and things not to forget. Thanks again!!!
For what it’s worth I’ve never really worked on cars except change the oil and replace the vvt solenoid on this car. But your directions were clear and precise.
@@shorty8174 good question, normally yes you are going to have to buy a new one but not because of the vacuum pump it’s bc of the gasket. They only come with the vacuum pump. I bought mine on Amazon I’ll try and find the link. Honestly I bought the vacuum pump just to use the gasket and then returned the new vacuum pump for a another one w the gasket intact. I didn’t want to change out the whole thing but you might as well since it’s already off.
Thank you very much for this video. On other videos it was just mentioned that you have 3 bolts to remove and the access to them is pretty hard (I know that lol). You explain step-by-step which will safe a lot of my time. My vacuum pump starts knocking so I have to replace it.
It's a steel gasket . If it does not have any wear I don't see why you would need to replace it. I took mine off and found your video useful. That bolt on the passenger side of the oil pump was a pain

Hey....i got a leak right over there but i dont think its the sensor...right next to the sensor is a hose that conencts into some black part (hard to see w/o removing vaccum pump).....any idea what hose this is and what the black part it connects to is ??
@richierock1300 coolant for sure. Its actually the hose the come off water outlet on the passenger side. That black part is apparently a water outlet, and the sensor actually goes in there. I removed and replaced mine without removing the Vacuum pump. The little clip was the hardest. Getting it off was easy. Putting it back on was much harder. You have to depress the sensor while pushing in on the clip. I did this with the same small screw driver I used to remove the clip. It is really tricky not to lose the clip. I wrapped a bit of thin magnet wire around the clip and it saved me from dropping it onto the back of the engine the first few tries.
