Thanks for the video man! Just replaced my turbo 2 months ago and didn’t want to pull it out again. I have fat hands and was able to do this in 30 mins total! Thank you man for real!
I just got the code p0116 for my 2014 cadillac cts 2.0t. Its the engine coolant temperature sensor. Im planing on replacing the sensor, housing, and thermostat just to make sure everything is new. Thanks for the vid. I believe the parts will be approximately $100.
One handed no less. Impressive! I have a standard 2016 ATS, so hopefully the absence of the turbo will make it a bit easier for me. Hopefully. Thanks for this!
Help me out, 2016 CT’s 2.0 noticed fans running after come home lately. It overheated today first time ever. Towed it home to be safe. Water was about a 16 ounces low. Took to Autozone For scan. No codes found. It Won’t overheat again. Scared to drive it on highway.
Bro same thing happened with me 4 time and there is no code it was very hard to know what's the problem You have to be careful when you see the heat geat going up open the hode and punch the radiator fan if it's not working and then it will work after 4 time happen I opened the ECU on radiator fan it doesn't happen it's been one year
Thank you for the excellent video! Now I know what symptoms to look for if my thermostat starts going bad. Nice job, getting the job done without having to remove all that other stuff. I'll use some silicone lube I think when I reinstall my filter box.
My Ats fan not coming on. Even if i blast the AC, but if i give the fan a twirl/spin, it starts spinning. Seems it won't come on when it suppose to. What could be the problem? .Thermostat, fan control module, fan motor, wiring, fuse. I don't think the ats uses relays.
You should 1st diagnose your car by computer and make sure the fan working by testing on live data it will give you error code I'm suspect the Fan Control Module Don't drive the car it will overheat
@@AliGravi89 indeed i did test the fan power, wiring, check fuse and its all good. Tried to drive it, but soon as i saw it overheating, i pulled over and shut it off. I ordered the control module for overnight, glad its easy to change.
Mine did the same thing. Car over heated and fan never came on. I hooked up 12 volts to the fan and it still did not come on. I replaced the fan without having to remove alot of parts. Now I think my Thermostat is failing so that's why I'm here
Hi there...I have a cadillac ats 2013 cooling fan not faction put the cage is quarters and radiator getting hot (100f) can you tell me what’s the problem...thanks
I changed the thermostat and it wasn’t the issue. It was actually the coolant temperature sensor which was a PAIN IN THE ASS to get too. It’s behind the engine.
First check the radiator fun is working then Make sure there's no air on coolant if it's OK try to clean the radiator by opening it or use cleaner pot on coolant and flash it
My 2014 Cadillac is having the same issues as yours. The AC fans on high when the car is on and runs after the car is off for another 5 minutes. Also drove the car on the highway for an hour and coolant temp stayed at Cold never moved. Took it into the dealership and they told me it was p0116 code and the temp sensor and connector is bad, and it’s a $1200 fix. I want to believe it’s just the bad thermostat and replace that and not the sensor. AC AND HEAT BOTH WORK in the car.
@@AliGravi89 I would also find a new mechanic it only takes a total of 2 hours to replace that coolant sensor in the car, and I'm sure he doesn't charge $500 a hour! Don't let them rip you off!

Yes it's. I got mine 30$ used because it's very hard to find original part at Iraq 🇮🇶
Sorry it was 45$ I forgot 😅

What’ size socket did you use to take out the thermostat housing??
10 mm socket
Did this end up fixing the problem? No sensors replaced
Yes it solved the problem. No sensor replaced only thermostat
Do you know what code it brought up?
My caddy is heating up and its also don't catch it sounds like it don't want to start is it a sensor or something like a feul pump

Where is the coolant outlet located
What outlet

Couple questions, when you removed the thermostat was that water or the coolant that came out?
i think it was yellow coolant

Yeah behind the engine on the head
My Cadillac temperature gauge doesn’t go up and the fan activates no ac
it should be bad thermostat check it by tool scanner
I replaced the thermostat and the fan is still running my AC is out and car temperature ain’t reading still stays on the cold
Check by scanner what code you have if thermostat code you have to clear it or maybe engine temperature sensor is bad

So I guess How to "Chang" a thermostat: is a thermostat made in China?
What means you have a bad thermostat even when you turn off the car?
It's mean the thermostat doesn't work properly it's close not open car get overheated . or it open not closing car get cold
