nice build. AT first I thought you were gonna just try to seal your trunk off (which probably wouldn't have worked), but then I realized you were piecing the box together inside so it could be bigger. very nice man.
What boggles my mind is the fact that this type of setup rattles the hell out of the decklid and makes it sound like shit. Then you face the 6x9's towards the trunk??? Am I missing something? You know, bass is supposed to be inside the car right?
nice work mate! would be good idea to apply sound deadening before box build. you dod not mention box volume or tuning frequency of port. do a demo video of the system playing. did u use box buolding software or just made to specifications? thanks for sharing.
@1FMF2 It's actually more expensive. However, it is much lighter than mdf and I am tired of lugging around an 70 pound box. Plywood is also much easier to work with and much easier on your tools. I wouldn't use anything less than 11-ply wood though.
Great Job! We used to do this with 4 15's in the trunks of Caddies and Cutlasses back in the day! I love your build..Yes, there are other material besides MDF that have been used to build sub boxes and sound damn good over the years! How much power did you put on those !2's..whats your cubic air space..and whats it tuned at? THANKS!!!!
Love the effort you put into this, but what a way to fuck up your trunk and make it completely useless. You could have built a custom 4th order box with one sub that would sound better than that ghetto rig. Not only that, would use up about 1/6 of the space. ;l
What trunk? ;-) Kidding aside, well done! I'm in the midst of something similar myself at the moment; odd how RUclips recommended this to me... Different approach, though: Carving up the rear deck and mounting a box up under it, modding the deck cover and trim so it'll pass sound, but look somewhat stock. Retain a fair bit of trunk space (mobile mechanic; gotta have room for tools!). Debating pictures and video...
getting ready to build a ported bandpass inside of my boys oldschool chevy ima have this thing banging loud as hell ill be uploading the build when the time comes so keep a look out on my channel i know i dont have vids up yet but soon they will be up
Nice build but not the way I would do it. I always have found better results in facing the subs to the rear of the car, angled up slightly. Let the sound and vibration reflect to the back and along the headliner back up to the front. I need that room to boom, let it expand rather then come right at me. There's a reason Bose uses reflecting designs in their speakers.
Yea, I don't understand why he went the full length back. He should've pushed back a few inches so he could have room for an amp or batteries but still have access to the tail lights.
i'm asking questions on a video that was made nine years ago and.... i won't be sad if i don't get any answers. i'm day one into researching on how to make a speaker box and i'm watching this and.... it's extremely sick. *thumbs up. question: so.... the plastic ports will run up to the back of the rear seats and.... you're not putting any wood on the back of the rear seats and... the rear seats are used at the the back of the speaker?.... the speaker fires towards the back of the trunk, bounces and goes towards the front of the car. so... question is: doesn't it make sense to put wood on the back of the backseats. that's all. lol, thanks.
I'll post and show you a real custom install build of mine .. you'd be surprised what you can accomplish without rushing By the way Wish I was a kid again but I'd have to rewind 30 years !Thanks for the compliment.
box is now stationary, no trunk space, slows car down, wastes more gas, no access to lights, heavy ass wood= a shitload of weight, when you put seats up, minimize the bass flow, totally unnecessary. I bet I could've got the same sound with 2 10'' fosgate subs with a fosgate amp half the size of that monsterous box.
Pretty much, I would have rear decked some smaller subs and make a smaller depth box but taller to compensate for the specs of the subs and I would have been able to keep my rear seats up and about 65% of my trunk space. But of course that's just me ;) either way I got an idea to build my box ;)
I doubt it , that enclosure looks like it pushes some air .. A bit more power and a better choice of subs and your not getting that loud with no fosgate subs in a enclosure half the size.. But good one lol
What a waste of space and weight? I have 1 Jl Audio W7 13.5 and 1 jl audio 1000/1 amp in a small enclosure in my Car. guaranteed mine has much deeper Bass and I still have a Trunk spare etc .i love bass but that box was just way to big for those cheap speakers 🔊.
I say do you homie. In the in who gives two fucks what damn speakers it is. If it's loud enough for you at this time slap that shit out. I appreciate you doing yo own shit whether it's plywood mdf or plastic. I must've miss the part where you said this build was for competition. I wanted to see woofers knockin.
All I have to say is Lol.. But I give it an A+ for some fearless effort . Overkill on size ... loss of trunk space... could have carpeted or vinyl the box or shot the ports upward for cosmetic looks .Million different ways to have done this with same or better SpL results and retain a ton of space .Far from a custom trunk build
nice build. AT first I thought you were gonna just try to seal your trunk off (which probably wouldn't have worked), but then I realized you were piecing the box together inside so it could be bigger. very nice man.
You could also cut out a board like the one he cut subwoofer holes on and used free air subwoofers and use the whole trunk space as a speaker box.
Very creative. I'm attempting my 1st trunk build, coming up and will be using some of his ideas on it. Thanks for posting 👌🏾
Still an awesome video. Have some respect, at least he filmed most of the build.
Your attention to detail is unreal.
despite all wonky ways he did things, dude has balls lol
Clean ass install good job man
What boggles my mind is the fact that this type of setup rattles the hell out of the decklid and makes it sound like shit. Then you face the 6x9's towards the trunk??? Am I missing something? You know, bass is supposed to be inside the car right?
I want to watch the face of the guy who pries open your trunk to steal your subs
nice work mate! would be good idea to apply sound deadening before box build. you dod not mention box volume or tuning frequency of port. do a demo video of the system playing. did u use box buolding software or just made to specifications? thanks for sharing.
Nice build but didn't the rear deck rattle like crazy?
He turned 3 way 6x9s inverted? The tweeter are shooting into the trunk?
awesome vid man. finally an actual build video.
A new take on 'cutting corners' at 4:30
Thats pretty good build
Nice , but how will you change tail light if it goes out ? 🤔
Seriously though
Mom:
Honey can you go to COSTCO?
Son:
Sure Mom,lemme make 10 trips, can only fit one costco box inside my Daihatsu. The bass is more important.
Why are the rear speakers pointed down instead of at the rear window?
🤔 for sub box clearance
@1FMF2 It's actually more expensive. However, it is much lighter than mdf and I am tired of lugging around an 70 pound box. Plywood is also much easier to work with and much easier on your tools. I wouldn't use anything less than 11-ply wood though.
Giving me a few Ideas. Thanks man!
I know I’m Ah couple yrs late but u did ur thang
I've been lookin for this for years... I have a 04 Taurus..and the car in the vid..the dimension s...PERFECT MATCH FOR ME!!!..BUT DO IT BEAT DOE....
really nice box

hell ya old but still cool
Always start with floor first I’d think
I need to do this. My trunk opening is an asshole. Lol
What are the box measurements
Love the effort you put into this, but what a way to fuck up your trunk and make it completely useless. You could have built a custom 4th order box with one sub that would sound better than that ghetto rig. Not only that, would use up about 1/6 of the space. ;l
Can you send me the specs on how to build
What trunk? ;-)

@ncreaper247
well why use 5 ply on the baffle? if i am wrong but isn't 11 ply much more stronger than 5ply just asking?
getting ready to build a ported bandpass inside of my boys oldschool chevy ima have this thing banging loud as hell ill be uploading the build when the time comes so keep a look out on my channel i know i dont have vids up yet but soon they will be up
bro.. damn good job
BRILLANT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Did you put sound deadener to your trunk?
good job!!!
that pro installation!!!!!
sweet vid dude.
Hey man where did you get your aeroports? Thanks
Why plywood is it cheaper than mdf??
Nice build but not the way I would do it. I always have found better results in facing the subs to the rear of the car, angled up slightly. Sub and port directions aren't always the same from vehicle to vehicle. What works best in one car might not be the same in another
Arent 6x9's directional?
birch plywood is better than mdf for sub boxes. but mdf is cheaper.
Let's say your tail light bulb goes out how are you going to change it?
Lmfao.... he ain't that bitch gone be out for good
toney frazier amazing right... Makes me think...
Yea, I don't understand why he went the full length back. He should've pushed back a few inches so he could have room for an amp or batteries but still have access to the tail lights.
Those back lights come out from the back of the car not the inside just saying u can see it when he's putting in the two corner piece of the box
did you at least put a 5th on the back? if you have to change your tire you're screwed....No pun intended.
At least he’ll be on the side of the road listening to some nice bass
@ncreaper247 unless that is pure birch plywood its not worth it. Probably birch veneer. its not like you have to carry it lol.
Roflmao. Come on man . Did all that and didn't even make a decent amp rack .
Plexi glass the top of box b sweet
i need to make one of those
whats this song called?
Song???
Sick! 👍✅🔊
name of song please?
Hopefully you planned on never replacing, or needing trunk space cuz you ain't never getting that thing out of there.
All that work and we lay the amp out front... gross
i'm asking questions on a video that was made nine years ago and.... i won't be sad if i don't get any answers. i'm day one into researching on how to make a speaker box and i'm watching this and.... it's extremely sick. *thumbs up.
question: so.... the plastic ports will run up to the back of the rear seats and.... you're not putting any wood on the back of the rear seats and... the rear seats are used at the the back of the speaker?.... the speaker fires towards the back of the trunk, bounces and goes towards the front of the car.
so... question is: doesn't it make sense to put wood on the back of the backseats. that's all. lol, thanks.
gonna be hard to steal that system.
Not being ugly. But you seriously could fit four 15s in there man.....total waste of space.
i like that
song at 5:40?
all that work for two american bass 12's and an american bass amp, about the same effort I put into typing this bs comment.
+J Mccoy Jr. so wheres ur speakers?
+q JAYDEN p on a burp? Your doing that on music?
don't run your mouths run your systems 😎

I'll post and show you a real custom install build of mine .. you'd be surprised what you can accomplish without rushing
By the way Wish I was a kid again but I'd have to rewind 30 years !Thanks for the compliment.

I got an 06 mustang and 2 15s I need a damn box to fit
pretty nice but that red is too much
Birch plywood is more rigid than MDF. Look it up. Do some research
@vikkiandbradley07 because he likes voltage drop :)
@TheEddiegajdosik Parts Express, just Google it.
Good shit bruh fuck the haters
I made it with woodprix handbooks !

All that build and you used Crunch Amplifier just waste time and money... put better Amplifier 🙈 you be very happy person 🙊🐒🙈🙉🐒🔥😭🤬
Alright build but I would like to keep most of my truck space available
What a waste of space and weight? I have 1 Jl Audio W7 13.5 and 1 jl audio 1000/1 amp in a small enclosure in my Car. guaranteed mine has much deeper Bass and I still have a Trunk spare etc .i love bass but that box was just way to big for those cheap speakers 🔊.
LOL you can put 4 15 inch subwoofers in that box
You'r speakers are upsidedown...

i did this (wall) in the back of my crx
I LOVE PISS ANTS
I say do you homie. In the in who gives two fucks what damn speakers it is. If it's loud enough for you at this time slap that shit out. They points you made are not actually what's wrong with this set up lol. If you actually knew what you were talking about you would have noticed.
Nice build, ugly paint job
Joel R couldn't agree more
Joel R Agree, build is awesome but could have done much better with the finish.

what a waist of a trunk and u cant even see it in the back it had better sound good
jerryape learn spilling before you comment lol WAIST?? IT IS WASTE!
@@Haelmuscle spilling? It's spelling. How are you going to clown someone's grammar and misspell in your comment?
