  • This is a video of me removing a glued pvc fitting using heat. This has been the best way I have found so far to do this without using a socket saver. I have used a saw zaw as well as direct heat before and ended up breaking the fittings. This is my only time doing it this way, it worked like a charm. I actually found out how to do this on RUclips and thought I would share it as well.

I'm in the desert, 25 miles from Home Depot. Added some sprinkler heads to my irrigation system. A big rock crashed into my sprinkler valve manifold and broke one of the pipes. I would have had to rebuild the whole thing, and I didn't have the parts. I also didn't have the right size hole saw, BUT, I had the right size deep socket. It worked great with a screw driver to get started and needle nose pliers to twist it out. Saved me a bunch of time, gas and money. Thanks for sharing!!

Needle nose pliers works great by grabbing one side and twisting. I use this technique a lot with my pool piping.

Nice Trick. I will try it in my yard with primed and glued sch 40 pvc. I'm not sure if it will ever help me thou because I always carry a set of ram bits on the truck.

I prefer just using a pipe reamer so much easier

I'd be curious to see if that still works that well on a fitting that's been primed.

Now try that with a glued pipe or stub inside the fitting

There is another way to do that by using a heat gun. Shalom

@@MooneysExcavatingyou only need a regular heat gun and you burn the pipe to remove it from the fitting with needle nose pliers.

Next time try letting the glues set for twenty four hours before doing your demo
