Every method has risk. Heat and long nose pliers is easier and less risky than this auger. This tool is intetesting. It seems to work just fine. It would be a challenge to use in some confined spaces.
“Look down it and make sure your in good” haha honestly looks like u went inside that hub about a 1/4” haha top side went in further than the bottom…u can tell just by looking at it
If you drill all the way you wont have a bump stop and the pipe will be really loose even after gluing that's why you dont drill all the way. The hub on a 2inch fitting is only 3/4 inch deep. I stop about a 1/4 from the end.

No problem never know when you might need one. I do commercial plumbing do they come in handy
interesting tool, i've used is a saw blade make some notches then pry with screw driver broken piece off
That's how I used to do it also until I got a hold of these. Now its super easy

I'm not sure honestly, you could check with your local supply house in the UK and ask. I'm sure they have a version
