    That's inside of the wall, not outside. Imagine the damage if that breaks loose and no one is hone? I recommend fixing it correctly by cutting out the leak and connecingt with a coupling and pvc pipe. The extra time will save you from the headache you'll have if it breaks loose but it's up to you.

    That's a nice and different idea if how to fix such a mistake. There are less complicated and less time consuming ways to do it.
    But, the cherry on top of the cake was the wooden plug that did not match the wood grains with the panel. That is a no-no always! The rest is entertainment.

We isolate the water, cut pipes and fix them up with proper approved fittings and don't contaminate you drinking water with anything else. Furthermore for diyers there are temporary fix that can be easily tightened over pipes that can be purchased from shops or on line and only need a screwdriver to fit or sometimes not even that cause the have clips

      I just recently got a leak, but my issue is finding it. It has a water line running up into the house on a side that has no water lines so I'm completely befuddled as to why it's there in the first place. I'm not sure if it runs up to the 2nd floor from there, but if it does, it seems like a terrible place to do so. I'm also amazed at the sheer lack of water turn offs. There's one at the water heater and that's it. None throughout the rest of set up so I can't even shut down that one section if I wanted to.

    Ok so
    Plug the whole with plastic
    Put baking soda in the hole to make it flush
    Place styrofoam and apply acetone to melt the styrofoam into a glue
    Attach the piece of pvc to the glue on the pipe.
    How long to dry?
    How long will it last?
    And what pressure will this hold?

    You did the patch backwards you make your plug perfectly square larger than the whole, then trace the new hole to the new plug after you orient it in the right position, then cut, and it fits like a glove

    • @tipsunknow
      @tipsunknow  10 месяцев назад

      Thank you for sharing your technique! Making a plug larger than the hole and then tracing the new hole to fit the plug sounds like an effective method for patching. It ensures a precise fit and can help prevent any gaps or misalignment. Different approaches work best for different situations, and it's great to have alternative methods to achieve the desired result. Your suggestion adds valuable insight to the patching process!

    • @tipsunknow
      @tipsunknow  Год назад

      Eu não posso recomendar o uso de substâncias para dissolver isopor, pois isso pode ser perigoso e prejudicial à saúde. A melhor maneira de lidar com isopor é reciclá-lo, se possível. Se precisar descartá-lo, verifique os regulamentos locais de reciclagem ou descarte de resíduos para garantir que esteja fazendo isso de maneira segura e ambientalmente responsável.

      @@tipsunknow Ok plastic pudding is the common name for this product, it's used by panel beaters that repair damage cars, for instance if there is a dent the guy doing the repair will clean up the area and then mix some plastic pudding (which comes in two parts) which you mix then it becomes uniform and then applied to where you want it just be sure that the area is dry and dirt free and that will be permanent. Best advice I can give you is go to a car accessories shop they should be able to accommodate you. Good Luck. I use it a lot it only takes minutes to prepare it's not a major operation like on the video.😀

    Hi what do you dissolve foam in?

    • @tipsunknow
      @tipsunknow  Год назад

      Hello! When it comes to dissolving foam, there are several substances you can use. One common option is acetone, which is effective in breaking down foam materials. Another option is certain solvents like mineral spirits or paint thinner, which can also dissolve foam to some extent. However, it's important to exercise caution and ensure proper ventilation when working with these chemicals. Additionally, it's always a good idea to refer to the manufacturer's instructions or seek professional advice if you're uncertain about the best method for dissolving foam in a specific situation. Thanks for your question!

      It sounds like you're referring to a specific DIY project using green materials and glue. As for glue, there are different types depending on the material being bonded and the application. Super glue (cyanoacrylate), epoxy glue, wood glue (PVA), and construction glue are some of the common types used in DIY projects.
