The main competitor of the 11800H is the 5900HX. Why not test that? You also didn't look at this year's MAX-15, which has an improved architecture, etc. So why not get the MAX-15 11800H and the 5900HX with a 3070 or 3080? The only thing different between the intel and AMD models are the processor.

      1. PCIe 4.0 SSD for futureproofing
      2. Undervolting for better battery life and to prolong the already impressive lifespan of the CPU

Granted, my laptop won't be used primarily for gaming, so I might be fine with a 3050 as the GPU, though 3000 series is the minimum because of the 8nm architecture.

Intel's problem is always high temperatures and throttling, power limit and whatnot. If you want to play with an Intel know that after a few minutes the cpu will be limited by the power for high temperatures.
i say this according to my last experience with a 10th generation cpu, maybe it was faulty? but reading on various forums almost all 9th and 10th gen intel cpus need undervolting to stay below a certain temperature threshold.

I am not a child but I doubt that you are not, I prefer to stop here than to continue talking to you. I just tell you that to my knowledge almost all intel cpu of at least ninth and tenth generation have overheating problems, years ago I had a laptop with sixth generation intel cpu and it was fine, temperatures were normal. and i had quality laptop, maybe you don't even know what i am. then intel got worse with the new cpu, maybe with the gen 11 it got better I don't know. the fact is that now I have switched to ryzen and I have noticed a great improvement, now I am happy with ryzen and for now I will stay here in the near future if I see that intel has improved in consumption and temperatures I will think again if you don't like what I say or you disagree you can just stop answering. take care, child, lol.

And I think it's also clear that Intel finally moving to a 10nm process has been a major gain for them as they've finally been able to gap close Ryzen in other places. It feels so strange to see Intel back on top in mobile just from going to 10nm. I still feel like AMD has a lot more to offer, but imagine Intel vs AMD with the same transistor size in the future. This might really mean that AMD is still behind Intel in IPC, but the efficiency of the silicon narrowed the gap until now.

Syzerix said it. The TSMC process node "size" is not comparable to Intel's old naming system. There are a lot of people who do not know this so Intel is changing the naming system in the future so Intel's old 10nm becomes 7I and that is roughly same as TSMC's 7N and Samsung's 7nm in silicon density.
