the problem is that in most regions around the world acer is selling this with i5 11300h which is a 4 core processor and in comparison to that, 5600h is an absolute winner in every scenario.

You mean in India right? See get the Asus tuf Gaming F15 in place or nitro 5, it has 11400h plus the screen is 144hz with 3ms response way better than the nitro's 20ms something, plus I think only asus tuf is the only one which give 11400h in place of 11300h thats why i ended up getting the tuf, plus thie year's model got a 90whr battery and way better cooling than last year

What a nice numbers and performance review for both of these laptops. We all know that intel is really up to the competition of getting ahead from AMD because intel doesn't want to disappoint its own loyal customers in the other hand we also know that AMD loyal customer will defenately stick on using AMD ryzen on their CPU because of its little changes and also considering price differences. I am not in using them both but as what I can see intel trully ahead now but budget gaming laptop is more the best and beast at all🥰

What u can do is use a thermal camera and check how much heat spread along the cooling system. Too much red on the cpu compared to other laptop may indicate bad paste as it cant easily pull out heat due to bad application.

I recently ordered the Lenovo 7 Gen 6 with a 5900x, 32 gigs of ram, 3080, 1 Tb ssd, and the shipping date was this November. If you need a laptop for this school year, I recommend not customizing thr laptop and getting a pre-built model. I needed the laptop for school, so I decided to order the 11980hk with all the same specs except for a 2 terabyte SSD, thunderbolt ports, and of course the PCIE Gen 4. I would love to see you do a review on this model, especially since the intel model is more readily available for those of us in the U.S. Maybe a 5900x vs 11980hk comparing thermals, performance, and battery life. I am still a bit baffled by one thing that seems to be consistent throughout all the reviewers: Intel and AMD, when set to the same power-limit, seems to draw the same amount of power, the Intel-laptops are often also lower in idle-powerdraw, yet with the same battery-size the AMD-laptops universally last longer.
Is there a problem that Intel is running the cores higher than needed during idle/low-load, like downclocking 4 but letting one run high?

At similar prices you find Zephyrus G14 or Asus ROG Strix G15 or Lenovo Legion 5 (Pro, with 16"), with similar configurations. The desktop is not an option anymore, so going from there to a laptop, how should we choose? For everyday use, Internet navigation, movies, photo and very light 4K video editing. The power is not a problem with these laptops, but having a small screen and portability of the 14", or the excellent screen of Legion 5Pro but a big size and heavy, especially if from time to time would mean going out with it?

Do you think limiting CPU freq. or lower proc.power.state to 95-90-80% etc. when also using Gigabyte Control Center(Power Saving Mode/Perform.Mode etc.)
can cause incompatibilty? I am with Ryzen 5 5600H Laptop and I had a lot of freezes in win 11 when I started tweaking those stuff. Now I preinstailled win 10 and I got a freeze again, and the only thing I did was change stuff in power settings - set a 3300mhz limit and lower power.proc.state to 95%; Is it possible that the CPU needs that power and temp and freezes, because I limit it?

Hey guysI need help deciding, I wanna buy my first gaming laptop, I've done a lot of research and decided to go with Asus ROG g513QR but it got sold out faster than I could get it here in my country, there's not much hope for it to be available anytime soon either. So I have 2 options rog g513gc with r7 5800H and rtx 3050ti or legion 5 r7 4800H and rtx 2060 or i7 10750H and 2070 max q (razer, HP Omen, Zephyrus M15).
I don't plan on doing heavy gaming, just warzone and games like NFS, but I'm studying Electrical engineering and I need some cpu horsepower for those softwares (circuit design and analysis softwares and...) I would be doing some graphic works too, not heavy stuff, minor animations for ad campaigns and some Photoshop. Maybe a bit of video editing in 4k.
What's your suggestion?, I can't go for legion 5 2021 because it's not available in my country nor is 5 pro. The only laptop with 3000 series graphics available is the tuf dash f15 which is not a good choice in a million years...
I would be thankful to get y'all opinions on this.

    • @fleurdewin7958
      @fleurdewin7958 2 года назад

Rog g513gc is actually a good laptop but with few weak points. All ROG laptops have no built-in webcam, as a student, I think you better get something with a built-in webcam for online classes. Then there is the screen, there are 2 types of 1080p screen for this model, the 144hz and the 300hz. The 144hz is garbage, sRGB 62.5% only , means the colour reproduction is going to be awful. The 300hz version is a 100% sRGB panel which is good. And RTX3050Ti is not worth the money in my opinion, it has a measly 4GB of VRAM which is barely enough today. If you want a RTX 3000 series, get at least an RTX3060 .
Legion 5 (2020) was voted 1 of the best laptops of last year. You are unlucky that you cannot get the year 2021 version which is quite a bit better than the previous year model. However, I will still pick this over the ROG .
If you are an electrical engineering student, your bread and butter software are probably Matlab and Autocad . In education industry, Autocad is free . Matlab scales well with core count, thus the 8 core R7 4800H is miles better than the i7 10750H . 2070 MaxQ is not distinctively faster than a full fledge RTX2060 in terms of performance.
Zephyrus M15 is probably not for you. The main selling point of this laptop is the weight, it is below 2kg . As is the same for all ROG laptops, it has no built-in webcam. There is another drawback too which is only 1 RAM slot available , 8GB is soldered to the motherboard. On Asus website, it says it can only supports up to 24GB of RAM which you might need more in future. Many laptops today can take at least 32GB or 64GB of RAM with 2 SODIMM slots.

I can't get a legion 5 2021 with 3060 as that's either not available or above 1500, other options are zephyrus g14 which again 8gb is soldered to the motherboard, there's omen 15 with I7 10870H (which is not even as good as r7 4800H) and 3060, there's acer predator helios 300 i7 11800H rtx 3060 this is probably the sweet spot for me as the 11800H is close to the r7 5800H.
Other options are nitro 5 r7 5800H 3060 (terrible screen and cheap build quality), msi katana i7 11800H 3060 (stupidly cheap build)
