Very good video - first I have seen where the removal of the sock is shown - I just did that myself and what I thought was a clean filter had a turd like sludge at the bottom - yikes. Will remove the socks and clean going forwards!
My v7 has a twist-off rear housing with a pleated paper filter that can't be cleaned. So that part isn't right. And the technique of sliding a thin wedge(knife/screwdriver) under the edge of the other filter to remove the sock is more destructive than necessary as it stretches the thin, soft bit of the top that catches the raised edge. All that is needed is to push down the raised edge of the tab within the slot while pulling up on that side of the top (and down on the sock) to free the first of the tabs, after which only a little pushing on the next tab should allow it to be freed.
Thank you, this is exactly the information I needed. I will brush out what I can from the rear filter so I can continue to use it while I wait for a replacement.
Thank you so much ,all other information said unscrew the rear filter. Which of course you cannot do. I would not have dared to take a knife to it without your help. It was hard to get off but done it now.
Thanks for showing these tips, very useful, now if i can find a way to redesign the entrance to the dust bin on these blasted things, it's always clogging up, i find Dyson mist the mark on that part. They need to redesign it, if they crrat a new dust bin that's universal for all there model's that addresses that issue ut would be so much better, because they last a ling time, the batteries can be rebuil t i have 2 that I want to have rebuilt, i need to find the right batteries for it, they look like AA batteries.
I’ve had this vacuum for a few years now and it’s still going strong. ruclips.net/user/postUgkx8ISPQRRAfpAaX4msGjyodObTBnlj4T5g I was cleaning it today and thinking about how much I love no bags to buy and that it comes apart for easy clean up. When I first purchased it we had two dogs and a cat and it kept up well. The suction was great then and still is now. I’m always amazed at the amount of hair it picks up, it works better than any other vacuum I’ve had for pet hair. The attachments are handy and work well. It’s easy to use with arthritic hands. I just had to come write a review because I’m still so pleased with this purchase.
Such a over priced item I had 3 and all 3 is broken I went with brushless Makita had no problems after years of using it plus I can use the battery on other makita hardware
This video kept me from having to buy a new vacuum, already tried replacing the battery twice and it was still pulsing , cleaning the filters fixed it
you're an idiot thinking battery was the cause.
Thank you! Excellent video. I really appreciate you posting this. You saved my Dyson!
You saved me buying a new vac - least I can do is subscribe

VERY HELPFUL!!
For the v7 just hold the handle and use both thumbs to pop the rear filter housing from the bottom. 10 seconds
Thanks for the video was very helpful !!
Thank you!!! ❤
Great information; thanks!
If you face the vacuum nozzle to you filter away from you, then you can twist the filter off.
How many times does he have to keep knocking those filters so close to the face... Lol...

It's a butter knife
I cleaned all the filters and it’s still pulsing.
there could be a blockage in the pipe just where it goes into the dust bin. check there and if you pull the filter out the top dose it pulse ?
@@FINDITFIXITRESTOREITBUILDIT no issue there. Only way it stops pulsing us if I remove the rest filter - which I already cleaned. I’m stumped.
Sorry the rear filter. Will call Dyson today.
are the filters dry watch my videos and give it a complete clean and swap out the rear filter for a new heppa one.
Definitely a butter knife

Are you kidding me. I am 79 year old woman who loved my Dyson BUT this is rediculous ….I would surely cut one of my fingers off. Any recomodayions?
Yes, don't go anywhere even close to a knife or anything that resembles one, please!
You dont show it actually unpopping this proved impossible on mine so no use to me
