I think these sequences are like the "final words" conversations in Assassin's Creed. They aren't supposed to make sense, they are just so damn artistically powerful and cool. Sort of like how those in the aforementioned AC conversations, you come back to reality and find no time has passed.
my favorites are Hoyt: I take no pleasure in this, really i don't Jason: I don't need ten fingers to use a knife and Hoyt: I've been doing this long before you were born, Kid Jason: Bring it on, old man
Fun fact: The last 2 quick time event commands are not necessary. If you miss them, Hoyt still dies and you win the fight. The game really just wants you to kill him as savagely as possible....
I love the cutscene that you enter when you kill buck, vaas and Hoyt because it almost feels like Jason is being blinded by his rage (why the room goes black) and then when he comes to his senses we finally see what he’s done
That's a brilliant take on it, and makes so much sence especially with hoyt and how there's a bunch of butchered guards too, it's only at the end that he either realises he's become a monster or is blinded by everything just as vass was and has to die
@@miia_sofia I wasn't even convinced Vass was dead. That entire sequence was just a drug hallucination lol the entire time I kept expecting Vaas to pop up at the end of the game.
Far Cry 1, 2, 3 and even 4 were all good games. (I didnt play Primal). Far Cry 5 sucks. That game just annoys me. It doesnt have that special Far Cry feeling when you play it.
Don’t worry. Ubisoft is going back to their roots with Far Cry 6. They’re gonna have an actual protagonist with an actual voice, personality and background.
One of the missions for the "Lost Expedition" side quests makes a reference to assassin's creed as well, using the templar logo, and talking about pieces of eden. Since it is an ubisoft game it would be perfectly understandable if the assassin's creed universe and the far cry universe were one and the same. We might even see Jason Brody replacing Desmond Miles as the main protagonist in future AC games.
I just realised how Hoyt finds out you're Jason Brody. Whilst interrogating Riley Sam says there is only 36 seconds that the camera is looped for. When those 36 seconds are up Sam then says "Hurry only 5 seconds left" during which Riley says "make sure you come back for me okay?" Hoyt was already telling Jason he'd be watching the camera feed live amd caught those last 5 seconds. So during most of your time with Sam Hoyt already knows our little secret.
Never realised this before (and I've played through the whole game 4 times) but Vaas when you are in the final cut scene with him says "nail me to the fucking cross" 6:49= there's your fucking cross.
Even though Vaas was the best villain and definetly one of the greatest and most memorable baddies I have seen in a game, I also think they did a strong job with Hoyt. He really had that ruthless druglord persona over him! The guy who did the sick son of a bitch Buck was also great. In conclusion, all 3 antagonists were awesome!

I can't believe the reception to this game's ending. This is awesome. Just because it's not Vaas? Hoyt isn't Vaas. Vaas was a blood thirsty psychotic pirate, but Hoyt is a criminal mastermind with years of experience! This is an amazing ending! Watching your comrade be killed right in front of you and getting your vengeance! BADASS!
Ahh but then again he's crazy. Not as insane as Vaas, but I mean, the guy was jizzing in his pants over his contact lenses, I think erratic behavior is expected.
This was actually after Hoyt secretly discovered through hidden microphones in Riley's jail cell that Jason and Sam were undercover double agents. So he basically lured them into a trap.
+William David you need to cut your ring finger to use hidden blade in ac1. but altair invented a new and better hidden blade that is stronger, and sharper. with this new blade you dont need to cut your finger and you can use your blade like a regular knife. you can get in a fight with it and you can pour poison on it.

I fucking hated Hoyt. He was a sick bastard that sold 10 year old girls and boys as nothing but useless sex slaves. He made me sick to my fucking stomach. Killing that son of a bitch was the most enjoyable part in the whole game.
Jason was hoping for another epic confrontation like he had with Vaas. But Hoyt couldn’t provide it. Hoyt probably died in the first few seconds and Jason was so dissapoibted by this that he killed the other 7 mercs while imagining it being just him and Hoyt.
Yeah, but then again, there was guards that kept a sharp eye on the guys since Hoyt's been suspecting on who's trashing his empire to half. The knife was too obvious and if Sam did anything with it, the guards would blow his head off before he lunged that blade at Hoyt.
I love how most people who play this game don’t know poker and are like “What the hell am I doing” Then me who knows the basics of poker “What the hell are you doing”
Why does no one remember Hoyt?! He was the Hans Landa of Farcry, with his scariest trait being the question of whether or not he was onto you! And before anyone says he wasn’t deep or complex; none of the villains are!
I think all the Vaas fanboys will probably disagree with you (Vaas was OK) but I’m with you on Hoyt. To say nothing of Steve Cumyn’s wonderful acting! It’s a shame the guy hasn’t done anything else. Jacob Seed from Far Cry 5 is my favorite antagonist in the series but Hoyt is a nice second place.

Not the first time an Poker Game turned Into a Clusterfuck, same thing didn’t go well with John, Landon, and Muller in RDR1.
Hoyt: i think i'll start with... the ring finger.
anyone who's played Assassin's Creed: so you have chosen... death
If you pause at the EXACT right moment inbetween 5:24 and 5:25 hoyt suddenly warps to the left and reappears back where he was standing.
Nice spot.
6:37 FATALITY
Максим Панченко flawless victory
@Hasan Cihat Örter'i Eleştirmeyi Severim that was in a cutscene. The fight took place after cutscene ended thus the finger loss isnt part of the match
@@jbardouc808 true story lol :Þ
Bit rude of Sam to not sort those cards.
I DONT NEED TEN FINGERS TO USE A KNIFE!!!
Possibly the best line in the game
6:34 ~ 6:48 is probably the smoothest kill I've seen in a knife combat
This game just has a great story. The best I've seen since Kingdom Hearts 2.
He knew it was Jason brody cause he was a good best poker player and barely people can beat hoyt so he got suspicious
No he literally said he watched Jason and Riley, so the camera loop probably didn't work out
I think they missed the opportunity for a perfect easter egg here. After Hoyt cuts off Jason's finger and said: "Now you can never get married" he should have ended with: "But you still can be an assassin"
That would have been lame. Too obvious.
5:25 When my masculinity feels it's losing its grip on me, this is the exact scene I see in my head every time.
Wtf
Yea WTF
"You're all puppets and we pull the strings. The system was designed to work that way."
The tension of this moment with the music is so unique. I could barely breed
