The story carried a lot of hidden underlining factors, there's a lot of poetic Symmetry there If you paid attention, Jason becomes Vaas after this, he becomes addicted to killing and the insanity he creates within himself, Vaas's last words: take me into you're heart, accept me as you're savior, nail be to a Fucking cross and let me be reborn.
and when jason is trying to kill vaas vaas says "you are so fucked jason" and when you hear his voice once citra says "vaas is dead" you hear him say "we are so fucked jason" maybe meaning hes now part of him
Call me mad but in my opinion this game is about turning a man in a monarch slave. I'm saying that because i notice just now some clues in the game: Monarch butterfly and "key" words during loading, symmetrical patterns everywhere, Alice in wonderland phrases, which is used in this kind of "programming". I think Vaas rappresenting a part of Jason personality, (you are me and i am you) and when he finally kill him is like he accept him. He finally became him: The slave. And in the ending of the game Jason can chose to obey to Citra, (the master) and kill his girlfriend, or not. If chose to don't kill his girlfriend he finally realize like he "wake-up" that he become a monster and now have to find "Jason" again. He finally say: I can feel the anger inside me, but i am still, somewhere inside me. More than that. Better than that.
Pay attention what was vaas saying "Let me REBORN". He was saying jason becoming him. "We are so fucked jason". In the begining he was saying"You are so fucked jason". They become one person. Probably when vaas looked at jason he remember his past. Sorry for bad english btw.
Yeah he was a fuck up person but he was being used and manipulated by others. and when he saw Jason also getting manipulated by Citra he slowly start too see the glimpse of his past self on Jason. that's the reason he said 'We're so fucked Jason'
+Linard Church i know im late but he's right when vaas says "you're" so fucked jason in the hallucination and then when he wakes up he says "we're" so fucked why would he not be living through him if he can hear him when he wakes up? im drunk and i need help with my stomach pains?
I think vaas was in pain throughout the game, like I think he realized he was a terrible person and citra took him on the wrong path then he went to a even wringer path when he just wanted to be a good person. That's why he enjoyed Jason, didn't want to kill him because he saw Jason as him, being consumed by the island. I think vaas wanted to die, because he was in so much internal hate.
There were definitely parallels between the two. It's implied that they're both foreigners, both were taken in by the Rakyat who desired to change their ways and mold them into their desired warrior (in Vaas's case it happened at the same time as Citra), both were corrupted by Citra who wanted both of them so she could bear the perfect warrior, and both were given the ultimatum of her and the tribe or their loved ones/freedom. The difference comes with what followed after the choice. Assuming either of them had picked Citra, Vaas caved under the pressure and ultimately joined Hoyt and disappointed Citra whereas Jason was murdered after conception but successfully became what both Citra and the Rakyat expected of him. If they chose different from Citra, it's likely because they both realized what she wanted and what she was. The difference was that at point Vaas was so hurt by her choices and consumed with self-loathing that he joined Hoyt to forget his pain and seek death. Jason realizes the pain he carries, but he hopes to recover from his experiences. All in all, you're absolutely right. Vaas saw Jason as a better version of himself that he wished he could've been.
+MyNameIsLeroyJenkins Honestly the clues were already in the story telling, you don't need to be a genius or watch a theory video to get what Far Cry 3 is really trying to say.
He was in pain the recording that Willis had was proof it was Hoyt and vas talking vas sounding sad and Hoyt made threats to get Jason you can tell vas was in pain

Vaas was reborn inside of Jason to stop citra's evil. That's why you have a choice to kill or save your friends. Vaas isn't the enemy. Citra's and her warriors are.
Vass and Hoyt are pirates that kill, terrorize and probably rape civilians so Citra attempts to save the civilians by having her warriors. The reason why she killed Jason is because Jason was becoming like Vass and she didn't want that to happen.
Actually the pirates and the private military personnel are against the Rakyat and actually the island itself manipulates you. Also, how come Hoyt wants to sell Jason's brother and Hoyt is in human trafficking?
When Jason was hallucinating Vaas said to jason "You are so fucked Jason." After Jason wakes up Vaas says in Jasons mind "We are so fucked Jason." Vaas was reborn into Jason like he was saying right before Jason killed him "Let me be reborn."
jonny lomj 🌋 mind blown i mean it would make sense because why would he say that in the first place and at the end he looks at you so maybe Jason dies then vaas went inside of Jason to seek revenge against Hoyt not sure
Vaas could not kill Jason because of his luck, the reason to why he could not kill him this time was because he stabbed him with the dragon knife, which belongs to the warriors of rakyat. Jason is the rakyat so the knife could not kill him.
I think they idea is similar to what Kenji said. I took it as Vaas was on the same path as Jason at one point, and lost himself to insanity and blood lust after being constantly manipulated by his older sister.
this whole scene was a metaphor. Vaas and jason were the same person because obviously at the beginning of the scene there are flashes of jason turning into vaas and switching back and forth. It also shows jason aiming a gun at his head, meaning he is about to kill vaas, but also going to kill himself. Jason escaped death many times from vaas, ex. = drowning, then the helicopter crash, then getting shot, while in this scene vaas escapes death from Jason ex. = getting shot by a pistol, then the vector many times, then gettin stabbed by the ancient knife. Which leads me to my final point, Jason gets stabbed by that same knife in one of the endings, in the chest ( just like vaas ) and if thats not enough he gets stabbed by vaas's sister.
That's because Vaas kinda stole the show. He wasn't even meant to be a character, I believe the guy who played him was auditioning for Hoyt, but they loved his performance so much they created Vaas. Vaas brought so much into the story, and once he was no longer in it it just wasn't the same. They killed him off to early in the game, if you ask me.
Yeah, Vaas is the one that terrorised you but once he's dead you go after Hoyt. I can't remember the story completely but Vaas's death was good but I felt like it could of been better.
@@unita37 don't worry, it's not a spoiler. It's literally a dlc for far cry 6 that was marketed for vaas as the playable character. (I haven't played it, but watched a playthrough of it.)
@@slope.2469 omg i see you've never played far cry before. Vaas killed a lot of people and that's a big BIG mistake but no, he didn't try to kill Jason's friends. Over all, Vaas is really nice. Also do you know about the definition of insanity?
I love how the soundtrack isn’t like an epic battle to the death theme but a somber toned theme. Sort of like an “uprising” which is fitting for Jason transitioning into his own insanity after killing a man lost in his.
It's the same theme that plays in the endings, the Main theme. It signifies an ending... the end of Jason's sanity, and the end of Vaas at the same time. All of these moments feel bittersweet, because you lose something in them: a part of yourself (Save friends ending), your life despite giving in to the island's insanity (Join Citra ending) and the presence of a compelling and tragic villain for the rest of the game (Vaas' death)
Gabriel Quezada I played this bout 76 times And it always gets me FC4 was the best before because I beat that think over 500 times then got this at 2017 And this Wow I just beat it Well 77 now
Vaas tried to save Jason. Save him from what he could become with Citra.Jason deciding to save his friends shows him taking this telepathical advise from Vaas. The line 'she's gonna make a _warrior_ out of you' signifies that. The line 'Accept me as your saviour!' also shows that Vaas really doesn't want Jason to have his life destroyed completely. He wants Jason to atleast have his life crumble slowly, like his. You've see that Vaas had to choose Hoyt or Citra in the line 'THEM OR ME!? ME OR THEM!?' which shows how poor of a position he was in. He is wise, he wants to live life even that means losing his sanity. He'd rather run mad than be a building block for someone else. Yet I can also oppose to this, as Vaas is not completely free. He's under Hoyt's cage now. The bars have a wide but there is barbed wire outside the cage so the bird (Vass) can't escape. For Jason, he has life to conquer and has only just begun. They were both doomed from the start, well it doesn't matter now, they're both dead people in the end.
The feels man.....THE FEELS! I hope that they would have a DLC for FC4 that is about Vaas. You would get the chance to play as him in his past, Cause this guy is so fucked up he deserves a DLC.
zV Oblivion Vz yea because on this video you still see that his eyes are moving on the ending idk why everybody hate him but hes nice charachter and funny xD
@@2lowfatmilk606 3 and 6 are in the same world, its just not specified if it takes place before or after the events of 3. Though my money is on before.
This ain't a boss who you're killing. It's a fight with yourself. Like if Jason had two conceptions of himself, or like if Vaas was Jason's dark side stamped on a person. I think that's why Vaas turned his eyes up to Jason proving to be alive, it's because this internal fight never ends, "Vaas" will always try to drag Jason into insanity, although he knew he wasn't completely sane, no one is.
I think it's more that Vaas is the voice inside Jason's head telling him to fight back against Citra, that she's not who she portrays herself to be, that she's just using Jason for her own means. In this fight Jason gets rid of that voice in his head temporarily, but Vaas still lives on, warning Jason of his mistakes.
For anyone that struggled to get to Vaas on the part where illusions of him charged you, I found just booking it straight for him instead of shooting them works fine.
2:50 if you look in his facial expression you can see... something. I cant tell what it is but, its not... evil. Its like Vaas almost feels... sorry for Jason, knowing that he will go down the same path and now is beyond saving.
1. Jason didnt die from the sword, why would Vaas die from it 2. Vaas did exist. But jason never saw him again after he killed jason's brother. He just got a trauma and think about Vaas all the time. 3. Vaas is Jason, he relived his past by thinking into an other person, thats afraid of him (Jason)
the main writer of the game confirmed by twitter that vaas doesn't stab you with the dagger (he doesn't even have it, Citra does), he stabs you with a syringe full of drugs
This scene, in my opinion, is the closest thing to art in any video game, it was symbolic, well constructed, subtle, and blatent at the same time! I salute you ubisoft
+John-Paul McDermott fuck off man gta is for annoying wannabe gangsters, games like far cry 3, dead island, skyrim, dishonoured, fallout and bioshock are real games.
Which means vaas would have killed Jason in the first place if he wanted to, the whole story would not have continued if it weren't for vaas. He killed the others such as the others who held captive from the beginning. If that's possible is it likely that vaas has thought something about Jason which made him feel bad for him? If that's true then vaas must had set this up in the first place to make someone more insane then him so hoyat can be killed, and vaas is probably trying to warn Jason that his sister can kill him if he did not chose to save his friends. (And of course hoyat is possibly dead or is this whole thing just a dream?)
I remember in rogue 1 the star wars movie, there was a middle eastern guy with the same voice and when I heard it I got so fucking happy, then I realized it wasnt him
Theory: In the background there is a clock ticking. This could reference to the time Vaas has before he "dies" or the time Jason has before he succumbs to the poisoned (or drugged) knife.
Originally I was gonna comment something about how this death is so much better than Hoyt's death, but then I realized something. When you kill Hoyt, it's at a point where Jason has just been through so much shit that he's been hardened and has just become a cold person, while this death is at that point where his death is just filled with emotion and anger, making it a much more personal feel when you kill Vaas, and combined with the music and everything just makes this scene feel more melancholic.
I've always had the weird theory that vass ever died and escaped somehow when Jason was hallucinating. You never see a body or anything and the entire sequence when you take down vass is a hallucination. Who knows what happened to him.
The whole game was in Jason's head and was a loose satire on Alice in Wonderland. If you remember when you drink the liquid that Citra gave to you, you have a vision of falling. When you first parachuted onto the island at the beginning of the game, your parachute fails and as you hit the water you fall into a coma. You're then put into Jason's head as he has memories about his past and those in it, while fake characters in Jason's life like Vaas and Citra are placed to pull you deeper into the coma and eventually kill you. That's why at the end of the game you either choose reality and going back to your friends to live (thats why Citra says "don't leave me"), or getting pulled too deep into the coma and eventually being killed by Citra.
@@harrisaziz1028 I enjoyed pagan as a villain too. I also liked Joseph seed as well. He was really creepy to be around and all together had a quite a bit of mystery surrounding him. Best Ubisoft game in my opinion. There was so much hype built around this game and it lived up to its pure epicness. Recently replayed it and it’s still a masterpiece of a game.

@@unita37 don't worry, it's not a spoiler. It's literally a dlc for far cry 6 that was marketed for vaas as the playable character. (I haven't played it, but watched a playthrough of it.)
its non-canon tho, devs confirmed he really did die
@@brotschander wrong.... he's alive

I actually felt really sad killing Vaas.
same, I really didn't want to do it lol

Same
I didn’t. He deserved it.
@@slope.2469 omg i see you've never played far cry before. Vaas killed a lot of people and that's a big BIG mistake but no, he didn't try to kill Jason's friends. Over all, Vaas is really nice. Also do you know about the definition of insanity?
Vaas isn't from Jason's mind, he exists physically. What Vaas is trying to tell Jason is that he is going to turn in what he was (a killer)
3:00
I love how this is the only moment in the game where you take Vaas completely by surprise as shown by his facial expression.
If only Vaas could say his last words, "Did I ever tell you the definition, of insanity". Lol
I can feel Jason's hatred with every stab... such a powerful moment
3:22 I remembered the first time I saw that. I literally fell off my bed
Lol same. It scared the shit out of me

The shark GOD!!!! You sound a bit like a pathological liar
Reminds me of Ernie the giant chicken's death from Family Guy.
same goes with the fucking demon liza at the end of the game.
You must have fucked Citra and killed your friends lmao
the song when u kill vaas make it sad :/
The feels man.....THE FEELS! I hope that they would have a DLC for FC4 that is about Vaas. You would get the chance to play as him in his past, Cause this guy is so fucked up he deserves a DLC.
zV Oblivion Vz yea because on this video you still see that his eyes are moving on the ending
idk why everybody hate him but hes nice charachter and funny xD

WHO CAME HERE AFTER KNOWING VAAS STILL ALIVE THROUGH FC 6?!?!?
Me
No? He's still dead? Far cry 6 rather takes place before Far cry 3 or Far cry 6 isn't in the same world as 3.
@@2lowfatmilk606 3 and 6 are in the same world, its just not specified if it takes place before or after the events of 3. Though my money is on before.

@@2lowfatmilk606 farcry 3 takes place in 1985 and farcry 6 takes place in 2021
It’s 2021 and i am still playing this masterpiece.
The way he drops the knife with one hand and catches it with the other is still epic
For anyone that struggled to get to Vaas on the part where illusions of him charged you, I found just booking it straight for him instead of shooting them works fine.
Exactly what i did
The most dramatic death in gaming history. Anyone else agree?
Nice death by the way
Hahahaha
Vaas Montenegro What's the definition of...INSANITY?
Vaas Montenegro yes i agree :(
Ur alive! Thank god!
this game is very very deep, nobody gets it
i get it.
Absolutley everyone gets it
What things u called "get?
Did I tell you the definition of insanity ?
I will get it soon
3 Far Cry Generations later and Vaas is apparently still alive.
2:50 if you look in his facial expression you can see... something. I cant tell what it is but, its not... evil. Its like Vaas almost feels... sorry for Jason, knowing that he will go down the same path and now is beyond saving.
1. Jason didnt die from the sword, why would Vaas die from it
Well, Buck is killed by the sword
CatroiOz well that would explain why you didn't hear a stab sound
You guys still alive?
@@Fear-m1x yes praise god
Vaas looks kind of like my art teacher XD
I wish my former junior year of high school art teacher was like aas
Curtis Yue I bet he know the definition to insanity
Deep Blue heheh, "ass"

Curtis Yue kill him him before its too late
This scene, in my opinion, is the closest thing to art in any video game, it was symbolic, well constructed, subtle, and blatent at the same time!

Was I the only one that felt really sad and empty after killing Vaas and considered that the game afterward was really bad and incomplete?
yeah for me it was really boring and I didn't finish it
Nope. It was actually more fun because the privateers are more challenging than the pirates.
I came back to this after far cry 6 . I have so many questions .
“Take me into your heart, accept me as your saviour, nail me to the f**king cross, and let me be reborn”- VAAS
What if vaas isn't dead? I mean... He just stabbed Jason in the heart before the thing happened! Anyone agree?
Perhaps... it is possible that he let Jason killed him for a certain reason, but on other ways it is still a mystery...
He's dead.

The voice of Vaas amazing! I love his voice!
Micheal Mando was really good in this game.
I remember in rogue 1 the star wars movie, there was a middle eastern guy with the same voice and when I heard it I got so fucking happy, then I realized it wasnt him
When I first saw him I thought he would have a deep voice , but I was wrong
Michael Mando is a brilliant actor
He is also Nacho in Better Call Saul
Theory: In the background there is a clock ticking. This could reference to the time Vaas has before he "dies" or the time Jason has before he succumbs to the poisoned (or drugged) knife.
Vaas > Pagan Min
TheRubbaRazza vaas is the best.
I love them both equally
A Hales Pagan was crazy, but Vaas was insane.

"Take me into your heart. Accept me as your savior. Nail me to the fucking cross and let me be REBORN!!!!"
Good fucking theory dude
now that's a theory to consider
So...Did Jason ever kill all those people he killed? Pirates and Hoyt's privateers?
logic theory :) the game should Far Wonderland 3
How the FUCK would you know that..?
Cant believe they killed off like..the most popular character
Ikr I liked him a bit more then Jason he was funny but a dick
Justice had to be done
Yeah but it sucks ubisoft hasn't been able to make a villain like vass

2:58 same tactic to kill the Night King in Game of Thrones.
It's a damn shame to. Both Night King and Vaas now.
GBJ- Series agreed both deserved better for the narratives for both far cry and GOT
@@harrisaziz1028 at least far cry 3 though had hoyt afterwards. Hoyt was still a decent villain. But he was no Vaas though.
GBJ- Series yeah I think vaas is what made fc3 and probably the best villain in the whole fc series... pagan is up there too but vaas was brilliant
@@harrisaziz1028 I enjoyed pagan as a villain too. I also liked Joseph seed as well. He was really creepy to be around and all together had a quite a bit of mystery surrounding him. Far cry seems to be really good with their villains. That's part of the reason why I've always enjoyed far cry. The villains just need a little bit more screentime.
Had to come back after the latest episode of Game of Thrones to rewatch the best way to kill a villain ever.
How did this game manage to create a moment where everyone who played it felt something so deep inside?
2:50 the timing with music is badass

And now after 9 years this legendary game is free. No matter how many times i play this game it's insanely fun and the story Is amazing. I just kinda with that we got an proper end because Jason just goes back to civilization and we don't know what happened to him.

Game of Thrones stole this ending with the night king smh
It's funny too how she lunged at him basically the exact same way. And the knife landed in the exact same spot.
