Some of the edginess of the lines in the English unofficial sources is exaggerated by the fan translators (such as most instances of cussing and a lot of the insults), but it's still pretty edgy regardless 😆

I feel like there are two sides of Blue Lock Dialogue. you have the intentional weirdness and the unintentional edgelords. like, Blue Lock characters are basically those guys who explain their fighting style through sound-effects. everyone just kinda comes up with the weirdest explanation of a concept and rolls with it to make it weirder, like instead of saying "i learned from watching how my teammates play together" a blue lock plater would say "i devoured their chemical reaction".
then you got the edgelord translations that make everything better because with such insane and intense art, you need that almost realistic level of trash-talk and in the zone weirdness of being stuck in your own mind and being able to freely speak as you would think.
this. this has embodied my opinion but in a better, more eloquent way, I love it. "explaining their fighting style through sound effects" couldn't have said it better myself LMAO

Yep the manshine game was extremely dragged out, the problem wasn't even the beginning, but around after Nagi scores his goal, it took about 11 chapters to score another one, most of the others took around 4-5 chapters, but the last one took double the amount of time, so like 11 chapters were used for a single goal, which severely dragged the game out, this game was more of a setup to the future as well
I think it's definitely because after Nagi scored, they started throwing 3 new characters in the limelight which are Noa, Chris, and Yukimiya. It's understandable of course, they were supposed to get their time in the limelight, but did they have to be squeezed in between Isagi attaining MV + Protagonism and having 5 chapters where Isagi counters Nagi, Noa tags along, Isagi explaining his new understanding as he passes through the midfield, using MV + P to counter the defense, and Dethrowning Kaiser. This entire Manshine match practically has 3/4 of the length that the U20 match did as a comparison yet the U20 has considerable more highlights in retrospect.

The thing about the 'sudden' lines is sooooooo true. Sometimes I just can't take it serious and just laugh out loud bcs it's geniunely so cringy. BUT imo, to me its cringy that its.. good? Like because its so funny it makes me want to read even more (besides ofc the amazing art, dynamic panels etc). Anyway great video 😂🎉

I absolutely agree, the Blue Lock manga just hits different from the others, it feels like I'm actually watching an anime.
I've even read Haikyuu and i can say that Haikyuu's anime is still superior to it's original manga material but for Blue Lock it's somehow the opposite
it really helped me with my football stuff tho, my fav character is barou and following him in some way helped me from a defender to a striker at my school.

Chp 173 - 203 was good af. It has huge character development for isagi and shows his ego of defeating kaiser. If you read that as a whole it feels great. If you are a weekly reader it sucks.

i started reading the manga after around episode 10-11, and i wasn't disappointed, i loved it. Especially loved the Bastard-Manshine match, and i loved the long dynamic of it, just how it took its time felt nice. BUT IM IN SO MUCH PAIN WAITING SO LONG FOR A NEW CHAPTER TO COME OUT 😭

And yeah, this last match in the manga felt kind of drawn out considering that (imo) lackluster climax, but I guess I’m comparing it to the U20 match, which is my favorite so far. I love all the matches though, really! But Isagi is still growing, and I think we’ll see an even bigger payoff at the end of this arc, no doubt.

I just finished catching up to the manga yesterday and it's pretty wild. One thing I love about it is how it gets a "chemical reaction" out of my brain to imagine to entire match happening in my head and it's pretty thrilling.
After watching the FIRST episode of blue lock, I jumped on the manga. I dont know why but I just did. The most interesting part about this anime is that it isn’t the same “team based” sports anime you’d usually see like haikyuu or kuroko no basket, but blue lock throws that entire idea away. I caught up to the manga in the span of a week (3 days if school want in the way) and I when I caught up I was just “Wow thats it? I want to read more of this.” Blue Lock is such a good anime, and anyone reading this who hasn’t read the manga should definitely read it.

I'm kinda glad One Piece was my first anime and manga. The last One Piece arc lasted 4 years where I read week to week, so long fights (or games in this case) doesn't bother me at all because I'm used to it. It just keeps the hype going for me.

Please do what Fred kun hypnotized, i mean suggest us to do. I spontaneously say out loud "OH SHIT!" in almost every chapter. The way the author draws the shots with its arc made every shots felt so powerful. The anime made soccer looks like a war, but the manga convinced me that they really want to kill each other. Also, when any character drop F bomb at the right time, it felt so good!

Like comparing the manga and anime isnt a good thing, because anime has to make the frames consistent, manga on the other hand can go all out in like 3 panels (example being chainsaw man, which most of the time looks worse than the anime, but when it comes to fights it easily has better art, or Tomodachi game, where the anime has to stay consistent and can't really show it's full potential like tomodachi game did in the manga)

As for the excessive time taken to finish games in the later episodes, I agree that it could have been made somewhat shorter but unlike other manga that centers around one or two MCs, this one gives others plenty of opportunities to shine and I think there’s something beautiful in that.
