or bad budget menagment instead of spending more money on animators they threw it away on some stupid things or as bonuses to the ''hard working'' higher ups xD
No I actually did some research and it’s just that the production committee only cares about money, they know the fans will watch it even if they don’t put any effort into it
Yeah, the reason its so bad is because the higher ups are stupid and made them pump out a movie, and a seaosn 2 was to quickly giving them bearly any time to actually animate it. Its just so sad. An animator posted about what was going on on reddit. Read that for more info. Also bothers me when people say money. Cuz money means nothing. Its all talented animtors and giving them time
I'm pretty sure it's only one person working on the animation for season which on its own is pretty bad since one singular person has to meet deadlines on animations by themselves
As a person who reads every chapter that comes out weekly, someone who forced my sisters to watch it with me, someone who owns physical merch, plushies & manga, and someone who went IN PERSON to the blue lock movie. SEASON 2 ANIMATION HIRT ME SO DAMN BAD I CANT WQTCH PAST EPISODE 2 MENTSLLY
Just the fact, that Arifureta season 3 has on MAL a much higher rating than Blue Lock season 2. This alone is enough to tell you that there is something really wrong happening in Blue Lock right now.
Everything besides actual movement in the anime is done really well but I honestly cannot sit here and watch this anime weekly thinking there'll be a change anymore. I'm just watching colored panels here😂 As someone who read the manga I expected S2 to be way better and I was willing to push through the bad animation even if it was at the cost of other moments thinking the U20 match would be peak but knowing that it won't be just ruins everything for me. I'd rather reread this whole arc in the manga. It's actually sad seeing this masterpiece get treated like this and for everyone who read the manga first or even if it was the anime, I can't be the only one feeling like this.
The first blue lock videos and the world cup one are the ones that got me into your channel, and seeing it turn out like it is painful. I think the only thing making it watchable is the direction, the soundtrack and overall vibes are still spot on and i think committing to the effects and drawings instead of animation was the "right" choice. But then again i heard they just have straight up unused cuts which they scrapped because of time.
That powerpoint ahh transition was a cry for help from an underpaid and overworked young animator after all his seniors were fired in cost cutting measures.
For those interested in reading manga instead of s2...DO IT. Its 100 times better experience. As for where to start after s1: 1) read chapter 89. Anime skipped this chapter but its very important going forward. It shows shidou vs reo/kunigami 2)then read chapter 94 (pg 15 to 25). This is VERY VERY important. Anime skipped this again. 3)now start from chapter 95. This is where s2 ep 1 begins. The art is gorgeous. Character movements are well drawn. And u-20 is bonkers. If you wanna experience this arc in full glory, switch to manga NOW!!!!
I started reading the manga when blue lock season 1 started to air. I was so eager to see all those moments animated. I waited a year. Not only did the animation end up like this, but they cut out so many moments.
I feel like the ONE manga that needs good animation is Blue Lock. Like it needs some One Piece type animation for all the crazy moves and artstyle to truly be appreciated
You know it is bad when you realize the studio is cutting frames just to get to their poor over worked animators and forcing them to animate that is short time, animators are quitting, and the Ducking Director quite-
Fantastic video. It's like the turned down the animation switch entirely and invested everything into the art direction. The character designs and lighting schemes are incredible. It's just a shame that it doesn't move well.
Chigiri and Hiyori are my favorites, thank you for including them (9:43) great video as well, it makes me so sad the way Blue Lock S2 is being fumbled, we can only hope it gets the OPM treatment and gets revived in S3
Also as for the Reo and Nagi movie, I think it is a JJK 0 kind of thing, like extra and watch it before the actual show if you want to- kind of thing, yk? Edit: oh, nvm, bro literally put it in the vid.
The coping for the u20 match being well animated is next level, it’s greater than the Gojo coming back coping- (PLEASE LET THEM SAVE MONEY FOR THE U20 MATCH😭)
In my opinion it is honestly disappointing that such a big anime with so much potential to be one of the greatest in history with a manga which has an amazing story and great art to top that is being adapted in such a poor manner . We have seen that this can have a good adaptation when referring to season one. I hope the people who are managing the anime team hear our complaints and do better. This anime was like a love letter to football and in season one it worked. If I have overlooked or not mentioned any information available about this situation I hope you can correct me or help me understand.
apparently what i heard was one animator was just working on 5 episodes plus they spent all there budget on “that time i got reincarnated as a slime that got stuck in buisness meetings”
Thats wrong budget wasnt an issue tensura season was also bad its the director producer are bad the production comeeete is bad the deadlines are way to low they started like 2 months before season 2 and they fired a lot of the staff aswell they have basically no one working on season 2 and the producers are also just bad
The sae vs rin opening may also be suffering from being misplaced not just from bad animation. For those who haven’t read the manga, Rin’s flashback is around chapter 120-130 (don’t remember the exact one) and season 2 opens around chapter 80-90. They literally cut in part of the flashback, completely out of place, to give a hook to episode one of the season. That means that the scene in episode one almost needed to be spliced up because it’s 100% out of context and exists purely to hook the viewer with a shocking and unexpected scene. Also the production was reportedly awful due to a corrupt and disconnected committee that wasn’t concerned with the art or animation that the studio could produce. We know this because a freelancer just recently squealed online about his poor experience with 8 bit. Just hope they get it together before the NEL because Kaiser, Lorenzo, and the masters need great animation, Kaiser especially.
Keep in mind the production committee dictates how much time 8bit has to work on the show ,they probably saw the success and wanted a new season asap so they had no time to animate ,since its not like 8bit has 5 different subdivisions like how A1 does .
What really gets me is how executives will look at the success of something and then give less time and resources to the sequel??? And then they're all surprised or they just don't care, despite the fact they could have made WAY more money if they'd invested properly into it. Blue Lock was already crazy popular, people would have waited another year or two and they would have gotten even more fans! Now they're losing fans and may never get a season 3 because this one sucks so bad. It's straight up idiotic at this point.
I bet you anything they look at the projected money they can get from a movie (Demon Slayer) vs a TV series (Dvd sales) and just poured all the money into the movie. The idiots on top don't see the value of a series because they don't understand storytelling or even care. Hating this movie trend so much. Even if Nagi made all the money in the world it doesn't matter if the people on top don't see the value of a tv series.
Aren't 2 years enough to animate 15 episodes with at least the level of s1, which was already very low quality? The animation quality got significantly worse... This crappy studio just decided to focus on other works and used Blue Lock to get some easy money with little to no work.
@@Alex-ds6sw just because the last season was 2 years ago that doesnt mean they started to work on it after aeason 1 ended ,8bit made other shows in that time frame aswell.
@@flameofthegameCan't believe people are defending this studio after this. If the production comittee wanted a new season asap then they should have started producing s2 after s1 ended. Instead they decided to produce more shows for money and not enough people to work on it. It's a shame this stupid studio decided to let one animator to do all the work. I feel sorry for that guy but not for this crappy studio.
Revelation 21:4: "He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for the old order of things has passed away." This verse provides hope for a future where God will remove all sadness, pain, and sorrow.
I like the video. It's well made and you make good points. But I think there should be a warning before 16:32 because flashing manga panels super deep into the story can catch someone who only watches the anime by surprise 👍
I'm in the camp that although there's lack of movement, I still love the artwork and character interactions despite that. I still feel the story being properly told despite the limitations, that's why I'm not as mad about it as others are. I still feel bad how poorly managed it is though
I read the manga first and it made me giddy, happy how good the art and storyline were. I rarely get that feeling (I can only think of AOT last season) but the anime did nothing at all which just never happens
Blue lock was one of those piece of media that altered my brain chemistry forever and actually gave me motivation to continue art when I wanted to give up. I haven’t finished season 1 yet but now that I see how season 2 is going I’m not sure I wanna continue…
At this point anime only people should just go and read the manga. It saves time and is a better experience. God I was so disappointed when episode 2 aired.
15:25, not only did the jjk character build up hype for another character, it also made us understand a LOT more about what happened between geto and gojo which is waayyy more important to the story and understand why gojo was so surprised when we see them see each other again.
Saving animation resources for the most anticipated parts of a season may be a new budgeting tactic that studios are trying out. A series is only as profitable as it is rewatchable and recommendable, so if a year later all we remember is how amazing the end of season 2 looks(fingers crossed) then that's enough to release season 3. And that also means spending less on each season as a whole, if no one is gonna talk about that season anyways. This makes me think of Demon Slayer's most recent season. The only episode worth anything was the last one, not due to poor animation but because it was 90% a training and character development arc. Almost no action what so ever. Then the final season is gonna be films, which is the most anticipated arc of all. It shows that studios are really trying to fine tune how they budget for anime to make it as profitable as possible, with the bare minimum requirements of quality control.
Honestly, I heard about the Nagi movie was gonna be coming out so soon before the anime and was like "Okay, so season 2 is gonna be shit then." I already knew, cuz that's literally how it always works. Remember Season 5 of MHA, and how that felt like a mess production wise at some points, and some decisions were head scratchers? It's cuz they related to the movie. The 1Avs1B training episodes were dense in recaps and shit to manipulate the run-time without "wasting" funds. The position of the Villain Arc was swapped with the stuff that was supposed to play after it, cuz it'd spoil the movie somehow if they didn't do that. I say somehow cuz I didn't watch the fucking movie. I knew it was gonna be pointless, cuz all the movies are pointless. Stupid cashgrabs that mean nothing that nobody wanted, asked for, or cared about. That's all it was, that's all the Nagi movie was gonna be, and it's all any seasonal anime movie of an unfinished anime will ever be. Even JJK0, as much as I love it, isn't free of the "it shouldn't have been made" feelings I have for these kinds of movies, cuz it definitely contributed to some of JJK S2's problems. That's a whole other can of worms tho, so imma stop there.
Man I had high hopes for this anime bro. But they let us down. But that’s what budget cuts do to anime studios. Wonder what would’ve happened if Mappa animated this season
Can't believe you actually addressed it, I thought at this point you'd just never mention it again and slowly private the blue lock videos while you focus on other Anime.
when an anime has good art but bad animation it is always a time issue. animators probably made some great animation sequences, with great movement and lots of frames, but the thing is that the lines are often sketchy and the drawings are not 100% on model. fixing this is the job of the cleanup people. then there are still the in-between frames and then all of these frames have to be colored. All of this takes more time then the raw sketchy animation itself. So when they don't have enough time to do that, they say ''fuck it. lets simplify the sequence.'' or they remove it. This happened to Vincent Chansard's amazing animation on my hero academia. There is a video that shows his version and the finished product and the finished is a lot worse.
The thing is s1ep1 is well animated and looks good, but its also relatively static at times - the difference is there *is* animation and there *isn't* the annoying and very obvious CGI effects to synthesise animation.
@@AvikNayak_ its for fan service also the movie was not good if you know the v vs z was literally just same scene from s1 it shows how good season 1 cour 1
I'd heard about the infamy of season two but I hadn't actually laid eyes on it until now. I kept yelling, "That can't be real!" "What do you MEAN?!" etc. after every shot you showed. It's mind-boggling to treat a runaway successful manga like this.
Good choice, I watched eppisode one and thought that the animation was actually gonna be good, but when eppisode 2 came out I swear to god it was the worst thing I have ever seen, put a bad taste in my mouth for the entire show, I don't want to ruin any more of blue lock so I'm gonna stick with you and not watch any more
A animator working on Season 2 who left the project said they had to work on 5 episodes and the deadline was too short so cuts were made and the wages were low
when i saw the 2nd episode im my heart i understood the entire season is just going to be isagi voice acting for tiktok edits and i wont lie that sounded actually kinda hype 😭
I watched Episode Nagi till the Team Z match So that I could know more about Nagi without getting spoiled for the match, and for this reason the breakup between nagi and reo actually felt like it did an impact to the story.

5:30 Deadlines, theres no way that they have a budget issue
It’s never budget it’s always time and talent
It's budget in the way of "no we won't hire more help" and "no we won't extend your contract you get this done in 5 months period".
or bad budget menagment instead of spending more money on animators they threw it away on some stupid things or as bonuses to the ''hard working'' higher ups xD
No I actually did some research and it’s just that the production committee only cares about money, they know the fans will watch it even if they don’t put any effort into it
17:02 yea...yeaaaah....about that....
Absolutely went back to the manga

This alone is enough to tell you that there is something really wrong happening in
Blue Lock right now.
Arifureta is peak trash... so bad its good. Blue lock is just disapointing.
@@gilmarsousa5943for me the cycle of peak trash goes to far it turned into trash again
@@gilmarsousa5943I wouldn’t say that. It’s just generic edgy protagonist isekai slop
I really hope they cancel it and let a better studio take over season 2

The first blue lock videos and the world cup one are the ones that got me into your channel, and seeing it turn out like it is painful. I think the only thing making it watchable is the direction, the soundtrack and overall vibes are still spot on and i think committing to the effects and drawings instead of animation was the "right" choice. But then again i heard they just have straight up unused cuts which they scrapped because of time.

For those interested in reading manga instead of s2...DO IT. Its 100 times better experience. As for where to start after s1:
1) read chapter 89. Anime skipped this chapter but its very important going forward. It shows shidou vs reo/kunigami
2)then read chapter 94 (pg 15 to 25).
Already did that and even I see the problem with Blue Lock Season 2
I started reading the manga when blue lock season 1 started to air. I was so eager to see all those moments animated. I waited a year. Not only did the animation end up like this, but they cut out so many moments.
WHERE CAN I READ IT
@@tuna_productions just look up blue lock manga, or go to websites like mangadex
@@tuna_productionsu can read it in various websites. Just search blue lock manga in google

11:56 The fact that i gor teo 30 s long ad
Evan RUclips is saying their ads are better than the power point presentation 😂😂
yo the editing is fire in this video

Love that Gravity Rush Soundtrack you used there
I like the video.
The reason why nagi got a back story is because their was a voting system to vote for a back story of your favorite player.
i just hope they announce a season 2 redo or a u-20 movie afterwards instead of season 3

15:25, not only did the jjk character build up hype for another character, it also made us understand a LOT more about what happened between geto and gojo which is waayyy more important to the story and understand why gojo was so surprised when we see them see each other again.
I think they should take an extra 1 year or 6 months to improve the animation and release the U20 Arc as a movie or an anime
Bro make a video on the anime Dandadan!! I swear to you it will be the most perfect-plotted, jaw-dropping animation, and the most amazing characters!!
Prob accidentally hired artists and not animators
Saw episode 2 and read the entire manga and loved it
The manga is so peak, it sucks what there doing to this show
Honestly, I heard about the Nagi movie was gonna be coming out so soon before the anime and was like "Okay, so season 2 is gonna be shit then."
I already knew, cuz that's literally how it always works.
9:48 u read my mind bro 😂😂

Amazing videos
thank u
S2 is just a succession of wallpaper put together (great wallpapers, none the less, but still)
The thing is s1ep1 is well animated and looks good, but its also relatively static at times - the difference is there *is* animation and there *isn't* the annoying and very obvious CGI effects to synthesise animation.
